Severus Snape sat in his dimly lit home, pacing, and cursing himself for entrusting a deliciously evil idea to his whimpering half-wit so-called assistant, Wormtail. Generally the idea was brilliant, however. It achieved several things for him, with extremely little effort on his own part. He would impress the Dark Lord with his plan to replace a traitor into the Order's ranks without suspicion. He'd get to punish two long time enemies, personally. And... well... he'd have someone to keep around for the summer who'd undoubtedly prove more amusing than the rat.

But, damn! Why had he not spent longer making sure Wormtail could and would carry out his part in initiating the plan? The cowardly rat, who was supposed to have been back hours ago, might have betrayed him. He might have simply run away - or if he had managed his task, he may not return at all, but carry his conquest directly to the Dark Lord. Severus continued to pace around his sitting room contemplating the likelihood that Wormtail had not only failed but betrayed him to the Order; that the Dumby-squad were going to knock down his door at any moment and hex him. He pulled out his wand.

As Wormtail finally knocked on the door more than two hours past midnight, Snape breathed a sigh of relief. How can he have thought the stupid lump was both cunning and daring enough to betray him? Snape opened the door to his guests, as Wormtail entered and dragged behind him the bound and struggling Remus J. Lupin: werewolf, and former Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Wormtail threw Lupin to the ground revealing burn marks covering his neck and shoulder where Wormtail's silver hand had been holding him.

"Thank you, Wormtail," Severus said with a grin. "Now, you've had your fun. I'd like you to leave us alone for a while."

Wormtail frowned, but left. Snape could tell he stayed just beyond the hidden door to listen, but he didn't care. He only wanted to keep the rat out of the way. What did it matter if he knew what happened, so long as he kept to himself until it was his turn?

Snape circled around and dragged Lupin over to the throw rug in front of the fire. His prey lay curled on his side, with his arms and legs tied, but he was looking up at his captor, incensed. Snape looked down at him and sneered rather triumphantly. "So many wicked things I have wanted to do to this body," he said coldly.

He pointed his wand down at Lupin, whose shabby, patched robes tore themselves in two and slid to his wrists. Severus spent all the remain hours of the night molesting his new pet, while Lupin clung to his pride, allowing himself only to squirm helplessly and look disgusted at Snape.

When dawn arrived Snape swapped Lupin's binds for heavily weighted shackles, with very little room to move, and served everyone breakfast.
