"My place, six o'clock," she whispers as they watch the screen. He nods, half-smile. Six turns into ten when they catch a new case, and neither of them can afford to leave. He shows up in the lab with an apology on his lips and a Caf-Pow in his hand.
"This has to be the longest night in history," he leans into her hug, relaxing into her sure hands as she rubs his neck.
"The longest of the year, winter solstice," she tilts her head into his shoulder. "Not how I planned to spend it, but at least we're together."
