Tim couldn't hold back a smile as he thought about the day just past.
It had started wonderfully, with cuddling in bed before he'd gotten up to make the two of them breakfast. That had been the perfect way to start their day.
He'd been so excited and pleased that Jimmy had actually wanted them to cuddle skin to skin; it had been the first time they'd done that since everything had happened, and he knew that it was a huge step for Jimmy to take. It was proof that he was recovering, slowly but surely.
That was their main goal now, he told himself. To have Jimmy firmly on the road to recovery, and to move ahead with the more physical side of their relationship.
It was going to happen. He had faith in the two of them.
Jimmy's recovery had been slow so far, but Tim wasn't concerned with that. He didn't want to rush his boyfriend; there was no reason to do so.
He was afraid that if he tried to push Jimmy, even gently, that the other man would become paranoid and think that Tim wanted to end their relationship, or that he wasn't happy. So he had held himself back, letting Jimmy progress at his own rate. And it seemed that his patience had paid off.
He wasn't going to rush Jimmy into anything more than what they had at the moment, he told himself firmly. He didn't need to. There was no need for him to push.
Everything would happen in its own good time. He truly believed that. He didn't doubt that Jimmy wanted him, and that their desire would eventually overcome his fears.
It would be hard to stay patient and wait for that day, he thought with a soft sigh. But progress had been made, and he had to focus on that fact. Jimmy was moving forward, and he was sure that more barriers would come down as time went on. They had to.
It would be nice if those barricades were broken down a little faster, but as long as all of the obstacles were overcome, he wasn't going to complain about how long it took.
The important thing was that Jimmy was recovering at his own pace.
Not only that, but their relationship was progressing forward, even if not at a rapid rate, as this morning had proven to both of them. Tim felt good about their future.
Things were looking up, he told himself with an inward smile. Soon, Jimmy would probably be willing to break down even more barriers, and they could move into uncharted territory. It might not happen as quickly as his libido would like, but it would happen. That was a certainty.
They were headed in the right direction. Jimmy's recovery might be going slowly, but Tim was sure that it would be a full recovery, with no lingering fears from the past.
He could only hope that it would keep going smoothly.***
