"So, now that we've got an entire weekend ahead of us, what do you want to do?" Jimmy asked as he sat down beside Tim on the couch. "I'm here for the weekend, unless you want to spend some time at my place. We can do that, too. It's up to you."
"We could always sit here on the couch and watch a movie -- and cuddle," Tim suggested, knowing that he had other ideas of what he wanted to spend the evening doing besides just cuddling up together. He had been thinking about this weekend all day.
"Cuddling is good," Jimmy agreed with a smile; looking at him, Tim was sure that he could feel his heart melt. He looked away from the other man, wondering if the desire that rushed through him every time Jimmy Palmer smiled showed on his face.
He had to be careful about not letting anyone at work see how he felt -- which meant avoiding the morgue if he could. Thankfully, he didn't go there much anyway, but he and Jimmy had both agreed that they would have to keep their time together at work brief and professional.
Of course, they always kept things professional at work, Tim told himself as he crossed the living room to the couch and sat down beside Jimmy. He wasn't going to let anything slip about their involvement, not until things had gone much further than they had already.
What he wanted to do at the moment was to forget about work and enjoy their weekend together -- two long, lazy days that they could spend here with each other. They didn't have to go out; they could lose themselves in each other until they went to bed on Sunday night.
By then, Jimmy would be back at his own place, Tim thought ruefully. They had decided that for the time being, it was best that they only spent weekends together -- unless Jimmy came over one night during the week and they could play it off as simply enjoying a movie with a friend.
Closing his eyes, he leaned his head back against the soft couch cushions, sliding an arm around the other man's shoulders as he did so. Somehow, this felt more right than being next to any woman he'd ever dated could possibly feel.
No one had ever cared about him in the way that Jimmy did. And he was sure that he'd never felt this way about anyone else, not even when he'd mistakenly believed in the past that he was in love. Nothing had ever been this strong, this completely overpowering.
When he was near Jimmy, all he wanted to do was to take the other man in his arms and kiss him unitl they were both breathless. Which was what he intended to do right at this moment, Tim told himself with an inward smile, turning slightly to look at his boyfriend.
With a soft sigh, he leaned forward to brush his mouth against Jimmy's, loving the way that the other man's lips immediately parted under his own. They were so attuned to each other; it felt as if they'd been made to be together.
Tim pushed Jimmy down onto the couch cushions, his boyfriend's arms wrapping around his neck and pulling him down. Their kisses left them both breathless, pleasure coursing through their bodies, both of them wanting and needing more, but unsure of how to ask for it.
He wanted to take Jimmy into the bedroom, to strip his clothes from his body and kiss him all over until they were both writhing with pleasure -- and with need. But he didn't want to bring the subject up so baldly, not when things were going so well.
Did Jimmy want him in the same way? Tim was almost sure of it; he could feel the other man's cock, hard and insistent through the fabric of his jeans. His own body was reacting in the same way; his body wanted Jimmy, even if his mind insisted that it wasn't time yet.
"I want you," Jimmy whispered into his ear, his hands moving under Tim's t-shirt to stroke up his back. "I want to go to bed with you, Tim. I know it might feel like it's kind of soon for us, but .... I don't think I can wait any longer. I don't just want you. I need you."
"I need you, too," Tim whispered, the words coming out before he could hold them back. Taking a deep breath, he decided to throw caution to the winds. After all, it didn't matter what the rest of society thought. This wasn't other people. This was them.
Maybe they wouldn't actually make love tonight. Maybe they would just kiss and touch each other, as they'd already done, and decide that it wasn't time for them to fully consummate their relationship quite yet. Whatever they did, he would have no regrets.
Tim's hands moved down Jimmy's sides, then under the other man's t-shirt, slowly inching it up until he could pull it over Jimmy's head and throw it to the floor. Meanwhile, Jimmy was doing the same with his own clothing, until their upper bodies were skin to skin.
It felt good to lie next to Jimmy like this, to feel his boyfriend's slender body pressed against his own. Tim breathed out, then in again, the pleasure that was flowing through him seeming to settle in, to reach deep into his being and find its own comfortable place there.
He wrapped his arms around Jimmy, nuzzling his cheek against the other man's, then turing his head to meet Jimmy's lips again. His boyfriend's mouth tasted sweet, the warm, gentle kiss slowly morphing into something more needy and demanding.
"I don't want us to have our first time here on the couch," he whispered into Jimmy's ear, his breath warm against the other man's skin. "But I don't know if either one of us is ready for this to be our first time. Do you feel like it's right for us to take that step now?"
"I-I don't know," Jimmy confessed, pulling back from Tim slightly, looking up at him with uncertainty in his gaze. "I want you, Tim. I do. But there's still a part of me that keeps pulling back. I think it's there in you, too. Maybe that's a sign that it's not the right time yet."
"It will be, sometime," Tim promised, bowing his head to brush a gentle kiss across Jimmy's bare shoulder. He could feel pleasure shiver through him again at the mere touch; who needed to make love when he could have this prolonged pleasure?
It wasn't the sex that he was after -- and he was sure that Jimmy felt the same way. It was the closeness, the togetherness, knowing that they had all the time in the world to consummate what they felt for each other, and that neither of them was going anywhere.
He didn't know what would happen in their future, but for right now, he was satisfied with what they had. More than satisfied, Tim told himself with an inward smile. He was happier than he'd ever been in his life when he had Jimmy here in his arms.
All it took to make him happy these days was just to think of Jimmy. Even if he was sitting at his desk at work, with his boyfriend working downstairs and nowhere within his sights, he could still feel that thrill of pleasure that ran through him at the mere thought of the man he loved.
If he was in a relationship with a woman instead of a man, would he have consummated it physically by now? The answer was probably yes, Tim told himself, wishing that it wasn't so. But he and Jimmy were both still hesitant, because this was all new to them.
The pleasure that they gave each other just by being together was no less potent and satisfying than what they could have with a member of the opposite sex -- or so it seemed to him. And maybe that pleasure was even more intense for the holding back.
Tim sighed softly, moving onto his side and wrapping both arms around Jimmy's waist to pull him close. It didn't matter if they consummated their relationship tonight, next week, or in six months. They were together; they loved each other; nothing else really mattered.
It wasn't the physical side of their relationship that was the most important thing to either of them. It was enough for the moment to be close, to know that he loved this man and that he was loved in return. That was pleasure enough, at least for the time being.
They would be lovers in the physical sense at some point. Tim had no doubt of that. He wanted Jimmy too badly for that not to happen -- and he knew that his desire was returned. But something told him that tonight wouldn't be the night they first became one.
"Let's just lie here for a while," Jimmy whispered, his arms still around Tim's neck, pulling him down for another gentle kiss. "It doesn't matter if we don't make love tonight. I just want to be with you. That's good enough for me right now. Just being here."
"It's enough for me, too," Tim told him, his voice low and husky. "But it's not going to be enough for much longer. I want to make love to you, Jimmy. And I want you to make love to me. But I don't think tonight is the right time. Not yet. But soon."
Jimmy nodded, his lips meeting Tim's again in a kiss that sent a wave of pleasure rushing through his entire body. And if Jimmy could make him feel like this with just a kiss, he thought as he reached for that wave to catch it and ride it out, he could only imagine what making love would feel like.***
