Jake being here feels wrong, unbelievably intrusive, but Sam fights him on this one.

Dean likes Jake as much as he likes driving in silence. Except the radio’s off, and Dean keeps his mouth shut because he’s worried about Sam.

His eyes shift from the road every once in a while, gaze flickering between a quiet Jake and an unconscious Sam lying in the back. He manages to convince himself the arrangement is temporary until his brother goes missing, but Jake still doesn’t leave, won’t leave even when they find Sam.

And Dean doesn’t know what to think about it.
