"Dean?" Six-year-old Sam asked shakily. "Does Santa Claus really exist?"

"Why would you ask a thing like that?"

"The boys at school say he's not real."

Dean sighed. "Come here, buddy." He pulled his brother into his lap, wishing he knew what he should do. "I'm afraid that they're right, Sammy. Santa isn't real."

"How come?"

"Well," Dean said slowly. "It's just not possible for someone to deliver that many presents in one night."

"Oh." Sam was silent for a minute. "Dean?"

"What?"

"Why can we believe in monsters and ghosts, but we can't believe in something good like Santa?"
