"Dean? Where's your brother?"

"He's downstairs on the couch," Dean mumbled, his eyes trained on the television screen.

John frowned. "No, he's not. I was just down there and I didn't see him."

Dean shrugged. "Maybe he went to the bathroom or something."

"Maybe." John turned around, his eyes rolling past the window before sliding back. "Oh, no."

John ran down the stairs and outside, dragging his younger son into the house. "What are you doing?" he cried.

It took an instant for Sam's eyes to focus on his father. "I like watching the lightning from as close as possible."
