Kenny Rodgers - The Gambler

It had been another long day at work, and yet Gwen had decided to walk home that night. With a sigh, she thought about Torchwood. She thought of Rhys.

She wondered if those two most important aspects in her life would ever get along peacefully, the way she wanted it to be.

As she came to a halt at her front door, she smiled.
Her life existed of the two most wonderful things in the world, and nothing would ever take that away from her.

De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig - Shenkie

"Owen, over here!" Tosh shouted as Owen caught the ball. It was another quiet day at Torchwood and the team had decided to play some basketball. Owen cheered with Tosh as she scored yet another time.

"Wow, down, Myfanwy, down!" Jack demanded, laughing as the pterodactly flew in, trying to catch the ball. "Ianto?"

"No problem, sir, I've got it covered!" Ianto smiled as he held up a bar of chocolate.

Gwen's chocolate.

Youssou N'Dour & Neneh Cherry - 7 Seconds

Toshiko turned her head, to see Owen laying in the grass next to her. The Sun had set hours ago, and holding each other's hand, the two of them had just been laying there, enjoying the night sky. They had picknicked, just a simple meal, and they'd been outside all day. Back to nature, Tosh thought. She smiled when she noticed Owen's eyes were closed, and she moved a little so she laid against him, with her head on his chest. He was breathing calmly, and she relaxed as well. This was so pure, she thought. Pure nature.
Pure beauty.

The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony

The things that Jack had seen. A year that never was.

The thing, the one thing Jack had missed. As his eyes met the boy's, his heart skipped a beat. Ianto. He looked deep into his eyes. There was grief, Jack saw, but nothing that couldn't be healed. He took a step forward and let two fingers carress Ianto's cheek. Ianto let out a sigh of relief and and took Jack's hand, pulling him close. He took his face in his hands, and did the one thing Jack wouldn't mind dieing for.

The tender kiss made up for Jack's entire year.

Voicst - Aha Erlebnis

Holding up his hand, Owen examined it. It look so... alive. But as he grabbed hold of his wrist, he knew better.

Of course he did.

Owen was a walking corpse.

He still did all the old, same old things. Driving, flirting. Working, even, while normally death was a sign to stop.

Owen hated Jack for using the glove.

And at the some time, he couldn't help but love him for doing so.

The Kinks - Mister Pleasant

Jack couldn't help but smirk when he first met Rhys. He looked like a happy man, with the world on his side. A kind man.

But he didn't have the slightest idea what was going on, right in front of him.

It wasn't a secret anymore that Gwen was flirting around with Owen.

Yeah, Rhys looked as if he was Mr. Pleasant himself.

Jack, however, knew better.

Status Quo - Whatever You Want

A faint sound in the distance, and yet he heard it. Jack had started running at once, but not before he grabbed hold of the jar that contained the Doctor's severed hand.

His team was left alone. He couldn't even say goodbye.

Running through Cardiff was enough to get attention drawn to you, but with Jack's coat and his backpack, it was just showing off. Jumping onto a police box, that was crazy. And apparently, introducing himself to the Doctor's new companion, was way out of order.

"Fine, whatever you want," he muttered at the Doctor.

The Police - Message In A Bottle

The only survivor from Canary Wharf, Ianto had decided to go back home and try to meet up with Torchwood 3's leader, Jack Harkness. It was almost like an S.O.S., a desperate attempt to get his life back together. But obviously thing wouldn't go as planned, and he had ended up fighting a Weevil in, while trying to save the Captain's life.

Ianto wondered if it had been enough to impress the guy. He could only hope Jack would get his S.O.S., so he could get back to that one important thing: life.

Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancin'

It was supposed to be a girls' night out, and, fair enough, as they'd just entered the club, Tosh and Gwen were already having a good time. Until...

"They must be having a guys' night out," Gwen muttered. She sighed and shrugged. "I guess we'll be having a mates' night out then," Tosh replied. The two of them walked over to the men, who were just standing at the bar. "Oh come on, live up a little!" Gwen said, grabbing Jack's hand and dragging him to the dancefloor.

"But, but... I don't feel like dancing!" Ianto protested as Tosh tooko his hands. "Ianto, I honestly don't care," Tosh laughed, and she finally started to dance.

Stevie Ann - One Year Of Love

Jack had always told himself, that one year of love, was better than a lifetime alone. Knowing Ianto showed him he'd been right. He was lonely, a fixed point in time and space. But for now, there was Ianto. He surrendered to hime. Reached out for his lips, his touch, his heart. And of course, love hurts. He couldn't bear the moments he was alone. He cherised every second in Ianto's arms. Jack was falling apart around him.

He loved him.
