It was coming upon two days since the damned alien toy, or "holidaymaker" as Jack had called it with some disconcerting laughter, had made her invisible. Gwen was getting sick of it. All her childhood fantasies of what it might be like to be invisible for a while were truly broken; it was no fun hanging around not being able to touch anything.

The team were working on getting her back, of course. But thanks to Jack they all thought she'd be stretched out on some tropical paradise beach somewhere, so weren't exactly in the greatest of hurries. Bloody idiot boss, thinking that device was just a teleportation device for those in need of a break. Clearly, it wasn't that at all. God only knew why he had assumed that anyway.

Honestly, there was no fun to be had at all like this, trapped in limbo. She'd tried all kinds of things to get some attention and make them hurry up getting her back and nothing had worked. She was well and truly stuck in her invisible state, or out-of-phase state, or whatever had happened. And she was getting very hungry and thirsty.

Gwen swore at Owen and Tosh for skipping out for the evening in ways she would never have dared to do if she knew they'd be able to hear her. When the lights in the Hub went down into night mode, she felt ever so lonely and alone. After all, she'd have stayed all night for them, no question.

At least Ianto was still around, trying to find some answers. Of all the people she would have expected to put some effort into it, she hadn't rated him highly. So it was gratifying in a way to see him staring at the computer screen, going through the archives, trying to find a lead for hours on end. Of course it was dull too, but that couldn't be helped.

Then Jack made an appearance and tried to tell him to take a break. This of course made her even madder at him. The whole thing was his fault really; he should have known that she could never resist touching alien gadgets so he really should have known to keep that particular one out of her hands.

She was just telling him what she really thought of him and his distracting Ianto, when she caught sight of him pressing his hand to the man's hip and stroking it. It seemed somewhat... intimate. It struck Gwen as odd.

Even odder was Ianto leaning back into his touch and letting his head rest back against Jack's chest. She hadn't really expected that, since he usually rebuffed Jack's advances, or did when they had been in public.

She actually squeaked when Jack suddenly spun his chair around and took a seat on his lap, one leg either side of him, arms clinging on around his back.

Definitely not sanctioned boss-employee behaviour, she thought with a frown. Of course she knew Jack was probably bi, but it was one thing to know it and another to see it. And as for Ianto, that she hadn't expected at all.

Gwen was momentarily distracted from her disapproval by the moan Ianto made as Jack ground his hips, still trying to persuade him to leave the computer alone and come play with him instead. Then they were kissing and she decided that, maybe, she should give them some privacy, somehow.

Jack suddenly climbed off Ianto and pulled him to his feet. He swept him up in his arms, like a hero rescuing a damsel in distress, and carried him over to the couch. The faint murmurs of protest coming from Ianto disappeared as Jack laid him down and lay over him, kissing him to within an inch of his life.

Gwen wasn't quite sure what to make of what she was seeing. Of course, she did want to know if Jack measured up to all the bravado talk he spouted, but on the other she didn't like to see him wrapped around Ianto, his employee. It wasn't right. It wasn't proper. It wasn't...

Fair.

She felt a definite blush creep up on her cheeks as Ianto's long legs comfortably wrapped around Jack's back and they were writhing and pushing against one another, their deep and playful kisses interspersed with moans and gasps of affection. Warmth spread through her body and held her, transfixed, to the spot, bottom lip growing red for nibbling, breathing almost as shallow as that of the two men on the way to making love before her.

There was a sudden gasp and Ianto was staring at her. Jack looked around and started. Any joy she might have felt at no longer being invisible was muted slightly by the mortifying embarrassment of the moment.

Tosh would figure out later that her elevated body temperature had disrupted the effects and brought her back.

Gwen would always deny it.
