What would happen if a chosen one is not found, or can not go with the fairies? They live like mere shadows.

They might have the brightest smiles, or be able to find joy were others see only sorrow. But if they can not leave, then by their fifteen year they will live in sorrow for the rest of their days.

They will mourn every passing day, because they were meant to live forever. They will cry for the burning of the trees, because they were meant to protect them. And every word of scorn, every hurt, will make them shake with sorrow and anger, because it was not meant to be, they were suppose to have true friends who would never leave, and be able to take revenge on all who hurt them.

They are never meant to become adults, they were never meant to understand the woe in the world. But they do, and it breaks their hearts.

The tears become rivers, ever flowing. They look at the world with sorrowful eyes, and ever have bitter smiles. Their slight magic fades.

A chosen one who is not found, or is kept from the fairies dies before their eighteenth year. And they welcome their deaths with joy.
