Greg looked over at his alarm clock, blinking sleepily and shaking his head. He'd been having a strange dream, one that involved Spencer, as well as the people he worked with. For some reason, his colleagues hadn't been pleased to find out that he had a boyfriend.

It took him a few moments to realize that he had to get up and go meet Spencer tonight; the other man was expecting to see him in a little over an hour. He had requested some time off from the escort service, so his nights were free now.

Throwing back the covers, he got out of bed, stretching his body and smiling as he thought of Spencer. Just the memory of how they had made love three times last night made his knees weak; would the same thing happen for two nights in a row?

He wasn't sure of that; maybe tonight, Spencer would just want them to talk, for them to get to know each other a little better. Even though they obviously couldn't have a relationship that was what other people defined as "normal," that didn't mean that they couldn't be involved.

Okay, so Spencer lived all the way across the country from him, and work kept them both busy, Greg told himself as he made his way down the hall towards the bathroom to take a shower. But they might be able to make it work. Long-distance relationships weren't unusual.

He'd have to quit his job as an escort if he became involved with Spencer, though; he already knew that. He couldn't give his heart to someone, and then let other men take his body. And he had no idea how he would cope financially without his second job.

But he would work something out, he told himself firmly, turning on the water and stepping into the shower. He wasn't going to give Spencer up, not unless he was forced to do so. Not unless Spencer said that they had to make a clean break when he left Las Vegas.

Greg hoped that wouldn't happen; the last thing he wanted was for Spencer Reid to walk out of his life without a backward glance. And he was sure that Spencer didn't want that, either. They'd had the kind of connection that only happened once in a lifetime, if ever.

It hadn't just been on the physical plane, either, Greg told himself as he closed his eyes and lifted his face to the hot spray of water. They had connected on an emotional level, too, as well as a mental one. They had so much in common, in so many different ways.

He wanted to be with Spencer -- and he was absolutely positive that the other man felt the same about him. It might not be easy to make a long-distance relationship work, but if they both wanted it to, then they could do it with a little work.

He'd known ever since they had first touched that he wanted Spencer -- but what he felt was much, much more than lust. All it had taken was one touch, one kiss, one caress to make him lose his heart to the other man completely. This was more than desire -- it was love.

All right, so maybe he had never really fallen in love before, and he should be questioning whether he really felt what he thought he did. Greg sighed softly, reaching for the shampoo and starting to work it into his hair as he thought about the situation he was in.

He had fallen in love with a guy who he couldn't have. But there had to be ways around that. Even if they had to deal with being apart a lot of the time, he would rather know that they belonged to each other and not be able to see Spencer more than once in a while than to break it off.

Would Spencer feel the same way about that? Of would he rather be with someone who lived near him, who he'd be able to spend time with on a regular basis? Or would he want them to try to make what they had between them work, even if it wasn't easy?

Greg desperately wanted to know how Spencer felt about the quandary they found themselves in, and he fully intended to talk to the other man about it tonight. They didn't have a lot of time; he had to know where they stood by the time Spencer had to go back home.

If Spencer said that it was best to end things here and now, before either of them fell more deeply than they already had, then he would accept it. He would do everything he could to change Spencer's mind, but in the end, he would respect the other man's wishes.

That would be the hardest thing he could ever possibly do -- to say goodbye to the man he'd fallen head over heels in love with. But if that was what Spencer wanted to do, then he didn't have much of a choice, though he would never be the same after Spencer left.

All he wanted was for them to be able to work something out, even if it meant that he would have to leave the escort service and get used to tightening his belt financially. He could do that, if he had to. Spencer was well worth a little hardship.

All it had was one caress for Spencer to capture his heart. He'd been attracted to the other man from the moment they had met, but when Spencer had touched him, all bets were off. He had known that no matter how hard he tried to resist that lure, he was already hooked.

He closed his eyes as he raised his face to the spray again, wishing that he could rinse away all of the doubts that were starting to form in his mind about them having a future together. As much as he wanted it, unless Spencer did too, then it wouldn't be possible.

Whatever Spencer wanted, he would acquiesce to -- no matter how hard it was for him. But he would wait his entire life to find anyone else who could move him so much with one caress -- and he was sure that no matte how long he looked for that, he would never find it again.

He'd obviously had the same effect on Spencer; the other man seemed to be just as entranced iwth him. Wasn't that proof that they should try to make this work? Greg asked himself as he bent to turn off the water and pull back the shower curtain.

There was no reason for them to stay apart, not if they really wanted to be together. It wouldn't be easy to make a long-distance relationship work, but he was sure that they could. It would just take some will power -- and willingness to make sacrifices, on both sides.

Stepping out of the shower, he picked up the towel he'd laid out on the counter to dry himself with, slowly lowering it and looking at himself in the mirror. This was the body that so many people had wanted -- the body that only needed to feel one caress from Spencer to be utterly, completely his.

Greg had never thought that it was possible to lose himself to someone so completely, to give himself body and soul to another person. If anyone had told him only a few days ago that he would feel like this, he'd have scoffed at them and said that they were crazy.

But he would have been proven wrong the moment he laid eyes on Spencer Reid. There was something about the other man that drew Greg irrevocably; he couldn't have turned away if he had wanted to. He was caught, captured, as surely as if was a fly tangled in a spider's web.

He had never been in love like this -- and he doubted that he would ever be again. Meeting someone like Spencer was something that only happened once in a lifetime, if then. He couldn't just let this man go and expect to find anyone else even remotely like him.

No, he had to hold on to Spencer -- if he could. But the other man had to want the same thing, or else the relationship wouldn't work. And Greg wasn't going to try to force him into something that he didn't want, no matter how much it would hurt to let him go.

There had to be a way for this to work, Greg told himself, leaving the bathroom and heading down the hallway to his bedroom. They could talk about it tonight, and try to make up their minds about what direction they wanted their future together to move in.

That is, if they had a future together. Greg sighed as he sat down on his bed, closing his eyes. If Spencer didn't feel that they should keep seeing each other, then he would have to get used to the idea of his future being a very lonely one.

He would never let anyone else into his heart. Not like this. Spencer would always be there, the only person who had managed to make Greg his with just one caress. No one else would even be allowed to try; he didn't have room in his heart for another love like this.

Pushing those thoughts away, Greg got to his feet and went to his closet, his spirits lifting as he glanced at the clock. In just a little over half an hour, he would be with Spencer again -- and hopefully, they would be able to make some decisions about just where the future would take them.
