Dave and Emily snuggled under a blanket on the couch enjoying some wine while a spring storm raged outside. Mudgie whined from his spot by Dave's feet.

"It's okay, Mudg, the storm can't hurt you," Emily soothed.

"He can handle hunting just fine, but when it storms he's a big baby," Dave commented.

"Hush you," Emily scolded.

"Yes, my dear. Whatever you say," Dave said as he kissed her.

"What do you say we go to bed? We have the spring barbecue at Morgan's tomorrow," she said finishing off her wine then standing up.

"Sounds like a plan," he agreed doing the same. Taking her hand he followed her into their bedroom and climbed into bed. Before long they were both drifting off hearing the storm in the background. This was how he wanted to spend every night, Dave mused as the last dregs of wakefulness slipped away.
