Remembering:

Alex looked down at the woman she loved. The rich red lips that became even more plump after a few kisses. The strong nose, the dark skin that contrasted perfectly with Alex's own, and the laugh lines that were starting to form. Then their was Emily's eyes. Normally when Alex looked into Emily's eyes she could see everything. Every feeling that Emily had could be seen in her eyes, and only one part remained the same. Whenever Emily looked at Alex the only feeling she could see in Emily's beautiful brown eyes was love. Right now, however, those eyes were staring back up lifelessly. Alex sighed and returned the photo to the draw.

Whats in a name?

When Alex heard what her name was going to be in witness protection she almost laughed. She didn't object, after all if she couldn't have Emily's last name they could at least share first names. It wasn't long before Alex started to regret this choice. Every time someone called out her new name it sent a stab of pain through her chest, and when a lover cried out "Emily" in the heat of the moment Alex gave in. The next day she went to the FBI and told them she didn't feel safe, they moved her and now her name is Catherine.
