The whole team at Torchwood 3 was in the Hub. Gwen and Tosh sat at their desks doing paperwork; Owen was writing an autopsy report on an 8 ½ year old child that was attacked by Weevils; and Jack and Ianto were reading through a file together about Weevils.

"I can't do this, Jack. It's harder than I imagined, coming up with a cause of death, so we can let the parents have her back. I am not going to make her disappear," said Owen with his hands in his head.

"Look, you're the one that said you could come up with something so we can return the child. You can do it, I know you can," Jack replied comfortingly.

Ianto went to make a round of drinks for everyone; he always knew when the team needed a drink.

Jack returned to his office, leaving the door open for Ianto, and sat on the sofa rubbing his eyes because of tiredness. Ianto walked into the office and gave Jack his coffee, then returned to the kitchen to take the others their drinks.

As he put the cup down on Owen's desk, Owen asked Ianto for help. This was a big difference from teasing him with nicknames all the time.

"I could say that she was hit with a truck and dragged by the undercarriage, but where she died is quiet and trucks don't go down that street. There's a wood nearby, but no big animals there to do that much damage. This is the least I can do for her, Ianto; I lied to her as she died in my arms. She asked me if she was going to die and I said no and that I would fix her up so she could go back to her parents."

"I know, but you're the doctor Owen. I wouldn't know where to start, I'm afraid there's only you that can do it. You'll come up with something, Owen. You always do."

Ianto placed a cup down on Tosh's desk then put Gwen's on hers.

"Anyone seen Gwen? She was here a minute a go,” he asked.

"She's nipped to Domino's; all our stomachs are growling," Tosh said, not looking up from the computer.

Ianto looked at his watch, it was 12:30.

"Bloody hell, it's lunch time already."

Ianto pressed his ear piece "Gwen can you hear me?"

"Yes, do you want anything specific on your pizza or will what I get do? I'm in the queue now. Take it Tosh told you I nipped out."

"Yes, Tosh told me, Jack and I will have pepperoni. I will give you the money for it when you get back. It is my turn to buy lunch; you got it yesterday. By the way I made you a cuppa, tell me how long you'll be and I will make you a fresh one for when you get back."

"I'll be about 20 minutes. I've just ordered the pizzas and now I'm waiting for them to cook."

"Ok, see you when you get back.”

"Owen, you found her near that A-road didn't you?" he asked, returning to Owen's desk.

"Yeah, just over the back of it why?"

"You can say in the report that she was hit by an articulated lorry and dragged by the undercarriage. You just have to move location of the incident a little bit, then put some tire marks on the body."

"Thanks, Ianto. I really need to give this little girl peace."

Owen started typing franticly on the keyboard. Once he had finished it, he printed the report out.

"JACK,." Owen shouted. “Can you check this report for me please? If any one wants' me I'll be in Autopsy." As he passed the report to Jack, he lowered his head and walked off.

Owen grabbed the tissue box just inside the doorway and sat on one of the examining tables and cried. Nothing had affected him like this before. He'd prepared hundreds of bodies for their disappearance and not taken a second thought about it.

Ten minutes later, Tosh came looking for Owen. She could see he was upset and had been crying about it.

"Gwen's back with the pizza, Owen. Are you coming up to the Hub with me for lunch? Your stomach's been growling all morning."

"Yeah, I'll be right there. Just let me clean myself up first."

"Are you ok Owen? I've never seen you react like this before to dead people and we see them all the time."

"Yes, I'll be fine it's just got to me that's all. I always see to adults and make them disappear but I can't do that with her. I need a hand later to put some tire tracks on her body and do the autopsy can you help me Tosh? I don't think I can do it on my own."

"Of course I'll help. When are you going to do it?"

"I will be doing it this afternoon; I can't put it off any longer."

Owen splashed water on his face then wiped it dry with the blue roll next to the sink. He looked through the mirror and asked Tosh if he looked ok. When she insisted he did, he followed Tosh into the Hub to join the others for lunch.

Ianto cleaned the pizza boxes away, then went into the kitchen and made a fresh round of drinks. Jack read through the report that Owen had given him then went looking for him to give him his comments.

"I hope that the getting-dragged-by-the-undercarriage story will work Owen; it can leave distinctive marks on the body,” Jack said.

"Tosh is going to help me place tire tracks on her clothes and body this afternoon, and help perform the autopsy. Then we can return her body to her parents," replied Owen with a lump in his throat.

After drinking their coffees, Owen and Tosh went to see to the child in autopsy.

Gwen had finished the reports she was typing up and printed them out. She asked if any one else had files that needed to be filed in the archives, then left the Hub.

Jack and Ianto were left doing their own thing till Jack noticed they were on their own. Jack walked to his office and sat down at his desk.

"Ianto, my office now," Jack said into his ear piece, while thinking rather naughty thoughts about his partner.

A few minutes later, Ianto walked into Jack's office with a huge pile of files.

"You wanted me, Sir?" he asked.

"Yes, come over here."

Ianto did as he was asked and Jack started to nibble Ianto's neck, then moved to kiss him. Ianto turned and opened his mouth to welcome his kiss.

"I need you, Ianto. I need you now," Jack said as their lips parted.

Jack walked over to the door, then dropped the latch and closed it.

Ianto was at the desk ready with the lube. They quickly undressed and started to make love, Ianto comfortably bent over Jack's desk.

Meanwhile, Owen and Tosh had already done the autopsy on the little girl. They were now in one of the large storage rooms making tire marks on the body. The truck tire was heavy and needed both of them to hold it steady. They rolled it over her body, making the distinctive marks. Tosh had laid the little girls clothes out on the table and was waiting for Owen to place the tire in the correct position to match the marks on the body.

Jack and Ianto headed for the showers after they were done. Jack had just closed the door to the shower as Gwen walked back in to the Hub.

Gwen was covered from head to toe in dust, she went to get a spare change of clothing from her locker and headed for the showers.

"Oh sorry. Didn't know anyone was using them," said Gwen as Jack got out of the shower.

Jack looked at Gwen. "What the hell happened to you?"

"That bloody shelf in the archives that's been dodgy for a while collapsed. I got covered in bloody dust. I've picked all the files up but I've had to pile it up on the floor until the shelf is fixed."

"You grab a shower, I'll fix the shelf. Then you can file them in order, o.k.?"

"Alright, Jack, thanks."

"Will you need a hand Jack or would you like a coffee?" Ianto called out from the other cubicle, making Gwen jump.

"Nah, don't need a hand thanks, it will be the bolts that've come loose again. But a coffee would be nice, honey."

"I will make coffee for everyone once I've finished in the shower. Then I'll feed Myfanwy."

Tosh left the autopsy room and headed for the showers, leaving Owen on his own.

Owen scrubbed up and then headed for his cupboard, reached inside and got the bottle of Grants finest Scotch whisky and had a large drink of it.

"Sorry I lied to you, sweet heart." He looked at the child's body laid out on the table, took another swig and broke down again.

Ianto came in with a coffee saw he was crying and picked the tissues up.

"Come on mate, there you go," he said, handing Owen the tissues.

Taking the bottle from Owen's hand, Ianto put a large splash in his coffee.

"Come on, back to the Hub; take your coffee with you. I'll see to the little one for you."

"Be careful with her."

Owen watched as Ianto put her body back in the freezer and closed the door.

"Peaceful rest, little one," said Ianto as he closed the door on the freezer.

Ianto didn't say anything about the whisky. He just put it back inside the cupboard.

Owen walked out of autopsy and Ianto followed him to make sure he was ok.

As Owen and Ianto entered the Hub, Jack looked up. Ianto nodded his head to Jack to imply that he wanted him in private. Jack walked to his office with Ianto behind him.

"I'm worried about Owen, Jack. He's taken this child's death really bad. I caught him crying on his own in Autopsy. This isn't like him at all."

"Ok, Yan, we'll keep an eye on him."

"I think we should keep him away from any Weevil hunts for a bit, Jack. At least till he gets some distance from this."

Tosh went over to Owen. "You ok?"

"Yes fine, just give me a minute."

Owen took a swig of his coffee and shuddered. Ianto had put a lot of whisky in his cup.

"What's the matter Owen?" Tosh asked as she noticed the shudder.

"Nothing, Tosh. Ianto made my coffee a bit too strong for me."

Tosh bent down to Owen's face and was knocked back by the smell of whisky.

"If you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to I'm always here, Owen. Don't lock it away; it will eat away at you!"

"I'll be fine, Tosh. Honest, thanks anyway."

After taking a few minutes, Owen went to his computer and made the arrangements for the girl to be returned to her parents.

He picked up his coat and noticed the others watching him carefully.

"I'm knocking off early. I need some fresh air. See you tomorrow."

With that, Owen left the building and went home.
