After having lived for around two centuries, he thought that maybe, just maybe, he'd finally seen it all. There was very little that surprised him these days; he chalked it up (laughingly) to getting old.

And just when he'd thought that he'd definitely, most definitely seen it all...in walked Ianto Jones.

Jack had learned a long time ago that outside appearances meant nothing. Just because Ianto was quiet, placid, fastidious, and innocent-looking did not mean he was anything of the kind. And if the truth were to be told, Jack hadn't even hired Ianto. Ianto had hired himself; saying that this was his place before Canary Wharf and since this was Torchwood, it was still his job.

Through accidents with girlfriends-turned-cyberwomen in the basement and a bit of prodding, Jack found that Ianto was also stubborn, unerringly loyal, terribly blunt when upset. He wasn't a person to be taken for a fool.

Jack didn't know where the attraction thing had started-possibly when he'd seen those long fingers wrapping around coffee cups and dirty thoughts had begun playing across the surface of his mind.

But oh, he had never felt feelings like this, not in all of the two hundred years he'd been alive. He'd loved; he'd had heartbreak; he'd lost. He was an old hand at romancing whatever hot thing crossed his path.

But never had he been able to feel how the air changed when "that person" walked in the room; how the sparks of lust literally bounced off of Ianto when he looked at him in the morning (and the click that accompanied should have been echoing across the Hub), and much to his own surprise, he found he couldn't live without his teaboy-which was highly amusing to the Man Who Couldn't Die.

And that was when Jack began to realize that Ianto had snared him just by being Ianto; simply by being himself. Just by being in his physical presence, Jack found himself madly in love with Ianto, and now he was completely unable to let go.
