Ianto was tidying up Director Hartman's desk when Captain Harkness walked in.

'Hey Yan'.'

'Hello sir,' Ianto looked up momentarily from what he was doing and then did a double take. 'Isn't that the science division's latest doohickey?

'Yup, I'd wondered where my alien popcorn maker had got to.'

'Alien popcorn maker? Is it the popcorn or the maker which differs from human popcorn?'

'D'ya wanna see?' Jack didn't wait for an answer before setting the machine down on Yvonne's desk and starting it up, whipping off his captain's hat to catch the popcorn.

Once the hat was full he dragged Ianto out of the office and slouched back against the closed door.

Ianto looked at him, aghast. 'You left it running!'

'Yup, it's faulty, won't stop for a good ten minutes yet.' He stuffed a handful of popcorn in his mouth and then offered his hat to Ianto, 'Popcorn?'

Ianto gave him an incredulous look and then sighed and took some popcorn, eating it as he watched the glass room filling up.

'This is good, but may I ask why you have a faulty alien popcorn maker and how it ended up in our science division?'

Jack swallowed another mouthful of popcorn and grinned, 'I wanted to see if anyone would be stupid enough to turn it on, but apparently they're too stupid to even find the on button.'

He took a single piece of popcorn and tossed it up before catching it in his mouth.

'So, as they say, if you want a job done properly, do it yourself.' He tossed another piece up and caught it.

'Director Hartman's going to kill you for this.'

'Probably, but I'm not worried, she knows I'm indispensable as well as irresistible.'

Ianto rolled his eyes in exasperation. He would have argued, except he knew Jack's statement was accurate so he settled for ignoring him and taking another handful of popcorn.

It was really very good, even if it was bright red.
