Tosh, Owen and Gwen had gone home. Gwen still suffering from the effect of the shotgun blast, but Owen had assured them she would be fine, just rather sore for a while.

The Hub was silent, the lights dimmed; Jack sat at his desk at steaming mug of coffee in his hands.

He sat, staring and the steam rising, the swirl of bubbles, slowly rotating on top of the hot black liquid. Most things in his life he was pretty good at compartmentalising, it was an essential ability really; otherwise he would have gone raving mad centuries ago. So why did this one thing bother him he wondered.

He could easily have gone and found a partner for the night, human, alien, but he didn't want that.

The one he wanted was down there somewhere, doing whatever it was he did once the other's had gone home.

He hadn't expected to be so hurt by the comment; that had surprised him, but it was past. Something had to be done.

A smirk grew on his face. Ianto really should have known better, although part of him thought he understood why he'd done it. His own comment regarding alien life-forms, had been made for similar reasons of protection. He would work this out, one way or another. He smiled and stood. This waiting had been going on for too long, for many months now, he's felt Ianto's eyes following him around. It was time to put an end to it - he hoped it would end well.

Heading down lower into the depths of the hub, the term 'Ianto hunting' sprang to mind, and he laughed out loud.

Ianto suddenly appeared through one of the doorways. He stopped as he saw Jack.

"Ahh, Ianto, just the man I was looking for" Jack drawled. He held back a laugh, as Ianto gave him a startled look. Like a kid with his hand caught in the cookie jar.

Jack continued up to the other man, till he stood very close. Jack's eyes moved over his face, taking in the cuts, and bruises already turning colourful.

Ianto looked puzzled, as he met Jack's eyes.

"Come with me, you've done enough down here for the night" he turned and headed back, towards his private room, below his office.

Ianto ached, and he was tired. So tired, it was too much, he didn't want to play these games with Jack any more. It had been going on for so long, long before Suzi's death, and Gwen joining the team.

He sighed and followed Jack, up out of the basement, and down into his room.

He stood there shakily, head lowered as Jack moved around.

"Sit before you fall down" Ianto looked up suddenly, at Jack's remark. He sat, as Jack brought over two glasses.

"We need to talk Ianto. This has gone on for long enough" he looked up, and met the younger mans' eyes.

Ianto laughed, a tough of hysteria audible in his voice.

"Gwen asked me whether I'd ever been scared. I didn't answer her, but I have. There's been a reason why I've kept all my relationships so superficial. Estelle was the last long human relationship I had. Have you any idea Ianto how hard it is to carry on living and watch people you care about, even love; age and die."

Ianto's eyes widened as he realised what Jack was saying. It was a shock, but not so surprising. He'd resigned himself long ago, to the fact that there was so much he didn't know about Jack Harkness.

"I realised I cared about you, that it would hurt if you died. The fact that you'd hidden Lisa hurt, but the possibility of you dying that day was far more painful. I'm not the monster you make me out to be."

Ianto was shocked. He didn't think that he'd ever heard such emotion coming from Jack.

"I was angry" his voice was little more than a whisper. "I thought you'd known how I felt about you for such a long time, and that you'd ask me to do that. And then put a gun to my head. But I never even guess about . . . ." He stopped, Jack would know what he was trying to say.

"You can't always hide though. I probably didn't think this when you were telling me to kill Lisa, but, you deserve to have someone to care about you. When you outlive them you'll still have the good memories."

Jack met Ianto's eyes.

"Why didn't you tell them I was the last person you kissed."

"I'm not sure" Ianto hesitated. "I think I wanted to keep it to myself. It wasn't their business. I wasn't sure if it would be the only one I'd get."

He looked up at Jack,

"Are you willing to watch me grow old and die, Jack Harkness."

"Are you willing to watch me grown old and die Jack Harkness"

The words spun round in his head, and the silence, as Ianto sat and looked at him, was deafening.

He looked away, thinking.

There were few things in his life he was uncertain of. Immortality could be terribly complicated if you thought about things like that, so he tended to avoid thinking about those things.

So Ianto had really complicated his life. In all honesty though, he didn't know if he could do it. He wanted to, there was something he found irresistible about Ianto Jones, always had, and he wanted to find out more. They had danced around each other with looks and innuendo for so long that the other's had almost come to expect it.

Perhaps that was why he'd been so hurt by Ianto's lack of admission about the kiss. Perhaps the younger man was right; this would simply be a natural progression. He knew he'd get hurt sometime, but if he took a chance, as he had done at times in the past, like with Estelle, something good would come from it, even if it was only transitory.

Ahh, what the hell he thought. Looking up he met Ianto's shining blue eyes smiling.

"Yeah, I guess I can do that"

Happiness flooded through him at the smile that lit Ianto's; face, he'd put that there, with what he'd just said; amazing.

Suddenly he found himself with a lap full of Ianto, the younger mans arms went round him, holding on as if for dear life.

Ahh, they both had so many issues, he thought; he was soon distracted by an insistent tongue pushing at his lips, he opened his mouth and groaned as he felt Ianto's heat as their tongues danced and entwined together.

He felt a hand in his hair, and another pulling at his shirt. Gently he pulled back.

"Ianto, wait, wait. Let's take this somewhere more comfortable" he said softly.

Ianto looked at him, eyes wide, and kissed Jack, long and hard.

"Ok" he stood up.

Jack took his hand, and led him though a doorway into his bedroom, Ianto never let go of his hand, and pulled Jack on to the bed on top of him.

Pieces of clothing were flying off as both men strived to undress the other as quickly as possible, it was as though they were starved, that all this time they had been waiting for each other and now they simply couldn't get enough.

Ianto sank his teeth into Jack's earlobe, and smirked as he heard a groan from the other man. Taking advantage of this Ianto flipped them over so he was on top.

He smiled, working his way down Jacks body, kissing, biting, licking. Learning the taste of this man he'd been waiting for. He felt Jack's fingers tangle in his hair and softly stroke the back of. He pulled away gently as Jacks' groin thrust against his. He carefully avoided touching Jacks cock; but couldn't resist, he looked at it and blew gently across the top.

He giggled as it moved

"Ianto" Jack said hoarsely

"I'm gonna come if you do that again"

"Can't have that then, I haven't finished yet" Ianto replied

He played with the soft skin of Jacks inner thighs, working his way down the strong legs.

As Ianto reached Jack's feet he knelt back, and looked at the beautiful man lying out in front of him.

"I'm going to fuck you so hard you'll remember it for a week" he said, his heart in his mouth. They'd never really gotten as far as discussing who would do who, but he could hope.

A big grin appeared on Jack's face as he lifted his knees up

"Get on with it then"

"You are such a slut Jack Harkness."

"yeah, I thought you knew that already"

Ianto just stared, as he prepared him and smiled as he found that sweet spot he was looking for.

"Enough of the self-control Ianto, fuck me already" Jack said roughly.

In one swift movement Ianto thrust into Jack, quickly setting a brutal pace. He lost track of time, purely aware of the connection between him and Jack.
Neither of them could last long though.

"Jack."

Meeting his eyes he shifted fractionally, and they both came. Lost together in the blazing light.

Jack came to, aware of a heavy weight lying on top of him. He smiled.

"Ianto" he shook the other man gently.

A pair of tired blue eyes looked up at him.

"You're amazing" he kissed him gently.
