Summary: I had another bunny. Well. More like the bunny finally had its way with me. Sorry. You win if you get it. X3 (I'm insane. Double apologies.)

Ianto's always a little surprised at the amount of ease Jack has with his nudity.

Jack just lounges like he's dressed in the very air itself, sated and happy. Ianto is envious - and red, awkward, as he cleans himself up, finds his shorts.

"Do you believe in reincarnation?" he says suddenly, and Ianto's hand pauses in his hair.

"I don't know," Ianto replies, finally, climbing onto the bed next to Jack. His words sound as careful as the gentle cleaning he gives Jack's stomach, his cock. "Why?"

Jack's quiet for awhile, watching Ianto's hands. "I had a dream, last night. It wasn't - it felt like something I'd done before." He takes the washcloth from Ianto's hands, tosses it towards the door. "You and I were different people, and Myfanwy -"

"Yes?" Ianto's face is blank, almost eerily so.

"Like - this is how it always is, how it works between you and I. That you -" Jack takes Ianto's hand, rubs it his thumb in a gesture that's less reassuring than the tight grip he holds it with. "She always dies, and it's not your fault."

Ianto's eyes are filled with sudden pain, for only an instant before he tears his glance away, puts his head down against Jack's chest. "I can't ever save her, Jack," he whispers. "And we - we can't save ourselves, either."

"We save *each other*," Jack hisses, tightening his hand around Ianto's. Ianto looks up at him, searching his face with wild eyes. "Ten-chan -"

"Gonou became Hakkai, but - I'm still just Ianto, Jack."

Jack closes his eyes. "Each time, it's a chance to try again, Ianto. But - it's also a chance for us to be together." Ianto doesn't say anything, but he puts his head back on Jack's chest.

"Hey, I wonder what Goku and Sanzo are up to," Jack adds, after a couple minutes. "Do you think they've fucked yet?"

It's silent, but he can feel Ianto's body shake with laughter, and Jack smiles, wraps his other arm around Ianto's shoulders.

They've got each other, and maybe this time - maybe this time they'll do it right.

This is how it works:
You peer inside yourself.
You take the things you like
and try to love the things you took.
And then you take that love you made,
and stick it into some -
someone else's heart,
pumping someone else's blood.
And walking arm in arm,
you hope it don't get harmed;
but even if it does
you'll just do it all again

The characters belong to other people, the song is Regina Spektor's. Only the arrangement of the words is mine.
