Horatio watched life flash by him. Seasons came and went. Co-workers, married, had kids, divorced, and retired. His friends told him he was wasting his life pining, that he should live life to the fullest, that that is what he would have wanted.

How would they know what he wanted, he was dead. The moment the last breath left Speed’s body, Horatio's life ended. He might as well have died that day with him, but fate spared him. So he did his job, spoke for those who couldn’t, brought justice to the bad guys.

In truth he didn’t care. He was just passing time until he was with his lover again.
