Title: Can't Sleep

Summary: Sex is a cure for insomnia.

Mac couldn't sleep. He turned on his right side, and glanced at the bright digital green numbers. It was 3.28 in the morning. Still too early to get up.

Mac gave a heavy sigh, and tried to go back to sleep. He closed his eyes. And opened his eyes again. The time still said 3.28.

Mac threw the duvet off, and decided to go for a walk. Perhaps it might help.

Mac rubbed his eyes, as he found himself knocking on Danny's door - AT 4am, of all times. Mac shook his head, and was about to leave, when the door opened, to find Danny standing there in just boxer shorts.

Mac stole a gasp at the sight of Danny's naked chest. He blinked and looked up at Danny, trying hard to not look down.

Danny frowned as he found his boss standing there in the hall.

"Mac?" Danny asked. "Did anything happen?"

"Oh, no..." Mac assured Danny, "nothing bad happened."

Danny was puzzled. "Why are you here then?"

Mac went quiet and looked around, sheepishly. "I-I went for a walk...and found myself here..."

"A walk? At this time?" Danny asked.

"Yeah, I couldn't sleep."

"Oh." Danny said. In silence, they stood still. Mac dragging his feet, unsure what to do next.

"Why don't you come in?" Danny gestured for Mac to come in. Mac started to feel panic building up inside. He wasn't sure if he wanted to go in. For a long time, Mac had been secretly in love with Danny.

Danny disappeared into a room down the hallway, leaving Mac at the door. When Danny reappeared, he was wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Mac groaned in disappointment, not realizing that Danny heard.

"Mac?" Danny smiled, and gestured for Mac to come in, again. After a few moments, Mac finally stepped in.

Danny led Mac to the living room, and after giving Mac a glass of water, they sat on one of the sofas.

"So what's keeping you up?" Danny asked.

"I never slept properly...since Clare..." Mac trailed off. Danny flinched at the revelation. Nobody else knew about his sleeping problems, and now, at Danny's apartment, Mac found himself telling Danny, and was surprised.

Danny nodded, sadly. He moved closer to Mac, and put a hand over Mac's back. "I'm sorry, man."

Mac flinched at the touch, and he gazed into Danny's eyes. Mac found his lips being kissed by Danny and he blinked as he pulled away from Danny.

"I'm sorry! Didn't mean...." Danny was saying and was interrupted as Mac kissed him back. Suddenly, they were frantically tearing each other's clothes off, and Danny led him into the bedroom.

The next morning, Mac woke up slowly, and found his arms wrapped around Danny. He was grinning, as his heart soared at the sight of Danny.

Mac realized that he had a really good sleep - in a very long time.

Danny opened his eyes slowly, and looked up, smiling.

"Did you know sex is a cure for insomnia?"

Mac laughed, heartily.
