Oh, god I just had sex! I just had sex with her! And on my desk! I
guess I took the phrase make sure you look over everything that comes
across your desk, too literally. I still can't believe we did it,
and at work of all places. You know what else I can't believe, the
fact that she took me back.

I honestly thought she was going to take one look at me and run
screaming for the hills, but she didn't. She enjoyed it just as
much as I did. The kissing, the nakedness, the making love; we were really
getting good at it. But that doesn't necessarily mean we will be
good at a relationship. And if we aren't, what do we do then? I
don't possibly think I could go back to being her friend. Definitely not
after the things we have done, the intimate moments we have shared,
and especially, knowing about that thing she can do with her tongue;
I like that! But seriously, is this really worth screwing up my
career over?

You're damn right it is!

You can't wimp out now Cath. You promised her, and you never go
back on your word. Plus, think of what it would do to her if you did. A)
She would never speak to you again, B) She would probably request a
transfer, C) You would never see her again, and D) You wouldn't
be being true to your heart. You know that you are already in love with
her. You can tell it just by the way your heart skips a beat when you
see her walk into the room. You can tell it when you are working on a
case, and instead of concentrating on what you should be doing; you
are thinking of her. You are wishing she was there to brush the hair
out of your face and tell you it will be alright; that you'll get
through this. And most importantly you know it because no matter how
hard you try, you just can't quit staring at her across the
table.

I am suppose to be listening to Grissom brief us on the newest case,
but I have some how managed to tune him out. All I can do is glance
across the table to where she's sitting.

She is reading the latest file of evidence that we collected earlier
from the scene. I notice something new every second I continue to
stare. I love to watch her forehead crinkle when something seems to
be troubling her. I notice that she slightly opens her mouth a little
when she is concentrating hard on a word and bites her pen every time
she turns a page. But my favorite is when she constantly pushes back
that pesky string of hair out her face. I can't help but chuckle
at her loosing battle, and I want so desperately to lend her a helping
hand.

But I restrain myself, because later I know she'll be mine. I
slowly look over at her just one last time before I excuse myself from the
meeting. I now notice that she is glaring at me the same way I've
been at her for the last hour. She flashes me an innocent smile when
she realizes she's been caught. I can no longer help it and am
smiling uncontrollably. Maybe it's because she looks so cute when
she is trying to be devious; or maybe it's simply that I know she
wants me just as much as I want her.

I say goodbye to everyone and head to my office. It has been a long
night and I need some time to process. I also need to clear my head
and get my mind back on this case. Everyone has noticed that I
haven't exactly been concentrating on work, but I just can't
help it. Please, how many of them come in with their problems floating in the
air? So does that mean that mother Catherine isn't allowed to do
the same? Well, fuck them all! I'm only human, not superwoman.
Despite what they think, I'm not always going to be able to suppress my
feelings. And now more than ever, I'm discovering that I just
don't want to any more. I want to have a professional, as well as, a
personal life; even if it is with a fellow college. I know I have
rules, but they just flew out the window the minute she walked into
my life.

The first choice for a slight retreat is my office. Can we say bad
idea? The minute I walk in, I'm reminded of earlier activities
that took place. Thrown back in time to when she was spread across my desk
and I was having my way with her. And before I know it the widest
smile is rapidly spreading across my face; and I know that I`d
better come up with a plan B and fast!

So I settle on the break room. It seems to be empty. No one has
really had the time to take a coffee break with our fascias slave
driver, Grissom bossing us about.

I take a seat at the closest, empty table and begin to read over my
file. There is nothing out of the ordinary listed in the paper work.
All the correct tests have been done, Nicky and I made sure that
every finger print was lifted off every item in the house, Grissom
and Sara followed the trail of blood and pin pointed the path as
they've done so many times. So what is missing? I can feel a
migraine approaching at 200 miles an hour. Great, just great!

"I need coffee!"

I say to myself. But suddenly become aware that I'm not the only
one in the room. That's when a familiar voice speaks up behind me.

"I think you need a kiss!"

I whip my head around so fast that it feels like a nasty case of
whiplash; but am immediately calm when I feel her come up behind me
and engulf me in a hug. She wraps her arms around my waist and pulls
me closer to her body. I feel the heat radiate off her body, and
provide me with much needed warmth. I can't help but lean into
her a little; and when she feels the increased pressure to her body she
lowers her head down and snuggles her nose into my shoulder.

It doesn't matter that the door is wide open and anyone can come
in and tell what we are doing. No, all that matters is that she can tell
I needed to be held. It's the fact that she noticed I was
struggling and through out the life line just in the nick of time.

We stay like this for what seems like hours, but it's really
only five minutes. I don't want to break the hold she has on me, but I
know someone could come in any time, so we had better break it up.
But just when I try and escape her embrace, she increases her grip on
my arms.

"And just where do you think you're going? Did I say you
could leave?"

The feel of her hot breath tickling my ear causes me to giggle. It is
obvious that I'm enjoying the close contact, so she takes it a
step further. She begins to use my ear as a lollipop, her warm saliva on
skin sends my sense into overdrive; and before I know it I'm
moaning.

"So you like that, huh? Well, let's try this one."

Before I have a chance to protest, her lips have already found my
neck, hitting every sensitive nerve along the way. Tiny hairs on the
back of my neck are creeping up and I can't take it anymore.

I allow her to lean me over the counter and be in charge. She un-
wraps her hands from around my waist and begins to slowly glide them
down my hips, and then thighs. I don't know what's harder to
believe, the fact that we're doing it again at work, or the fact that the
door is still wide open for the world to see. And just when she is about
ready to stick her hands down my pants, I hear a something or someone
behind us. That's when I know, we've been caught.

A throaty cough that obviously doesn't belong to me or her is
heard, and we quickly break apart.

"I'm sorry ladies am I disturbing something?"

Almost immediately eye contact is made. And all of the fear is
apparent in both of our faces. Of all the people in the office, why
did it have to be him that caught us? My heart gets stuck in my chest
when I notice he is opening his mouth to speak.

"YOU TWO IN MY OFFICE, NOW!"

In all the time that I've known Gil Grissom, I can only recall
five times that he has ever gotten angry enough to raise his voice at me.
That's usually how I know he means business.

We both silently follow him down the hall and into his office, where
he slams his door and locks it. We're in big trouble and there is
no amount of words that can be said to make up for it. Cautiously, we
both take a seat next to one another and brace for impact.

"JUST WHAT THE HELL DID YOU TWO THINK YOU WERE DOING IN THERE?
THIS IS A CRIME LAB, NOT A BEDROOM! SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE HELL
IS GOING ON! I WANT THE FUCKING TRUTH, NO BULLSHIT; I'M NOT IN
THE MOOD. SO WHO WANTS TO GO FIRST, OR SHALL I PICK?

Being the senor CSI, I felt it was only fair that I go first, no use
in both of us getting fired tonight.

"Gil, please calm down, we can explain."

"CALM DOWN! CALM DOWN! OH, THAT'S GREAT SHE WANTS ME TO CALM
DOWN! CATHERINE DO ME A FAVOR; DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO RIGHT NOW. YOU
ARE IN NO POSITION TO GIVE ANYONE ORDERS. INFACT, RIGHT NOW I'M NOT
EVEN SURE THAT YOU HAVE A POSITION HERE ANY MORE. JUST TELL ME WHAT I WANT
TO KNOW."

"You don't mean that and you know it."

"I know I don't mean that, but for some reason it is making
me feel better."

He finally sits down long enough to regain his cool, and attempts to
lower his voice. That doesn't mean that he still isn't pissed
at us, but it is better then his temper.

"How long has this been going on?"

"For about two days."

The minute I say that, I can tell he has gone from mad to hurt. He is
looking at Sara, who is nervously sitting with her hands in her lap
desperately trying not to fidget. God, she's cute when she's
nervous. But that's not the point right now; it's the fact that Gil
actually seems to be upset, but why? I know he doesn't like me, I'm
not his type. Then I notice the way he is looking at Sara and my suspicions
are confirmed. He likes her. All this time I thought it was just a
rumor and that he was just trying to be nice to her, he was actually
trying to make a move on her. And the whole time she was oblivious to
it. Either that or she just wasn't interested.

For what ever reason it is, Sara is aware that both pairs of eyes are
fixated on her and that is making her upset. She swings a warning
glance my way and I divert my eyes back to Gil. He is now rubbing his
hands through his hair, and trying to regain his composer. I open my
mouth to speak but the words just aren't coming out. I don't
know what to say in this kind of situation. I mean, I am not usually the
one that gets picked.

"Gil, please don't be mad at us. We didn't mean for this
to happen, it just did. Please don't take your anger out on Sara, it was all
me. I'm the one you should be mad at, not her."

"Catherine, I'm not mad, just shocked. I would have never
guessed that you two were attracted to each other. And as for both of your
jobs, there will be nothing to worry about as long as I can get
reassurance from the both of you that this relationship won't
affect your work. If you can't make it work then we'll turn to other
options. But I don't want to lose either one of you; you are both
valuable members of my team."

Sara decides it's time to chime in and raises a reassuring hand.

"Gil, we promise we can make this work and if it doesn't,
we'll personally escort the other to the day shift. Just have faith in
us."

He seems to be half convinced and decides to let us off with an easy
warning.

"Well, then what are you doing just sitting around here,
don't you two have a case to solve?"

Both of us turn and look at each other. We are now more than sure we
can do this. We turn to get up and leave, but just when we think the
coast is clear, he begins to speak again.

"Oh, and ladies I meant what I said before, this is a lab, not a
bedroom. No hank panky on my shift."

With the last of his words he swivels his chair around to face the
wall and we take that as our cue to leave, before we get into any
more trouble.

We exit his office and almost simultaneously with the shutting of the
door, we both breathe a sigh of relief.

"We almost were fired Cath."

"I know, but the most important things is that we weren't!
Let's just take this as a learning experience."

"Deal! You just have to promise that you'll keep your hands
off of me and we'll get along just fine."

"Excuse me! I believe it was you that was trying to get in my
pants earlier, correct me if I'm wrong!"

"Oh no, your right! I just like to see you get hysterical."

She turns towards the break room with a sly grin on her face and I
follow.

"I don't get hysterical, I get uptight. There is a difference
you know!"

"Catherine Willows, you are such a dork!"

"Hey, I resemble that remark!"

We both burst out in laughter and decide that it has been way too
long of a night, and we need something to eat. After all I do owe her
a date.
