Summary: The boys' morning routine.

Eric woke up to a really heavy guy lying directly on his breastbone. He sucked is as much air as he could, freed his arms as much as he could, and pushed hard against Tim's shoulders. "Man, get *off*. You're heavy."

Tim rolled onto his back and looked at Eric with bleary eyes. "Aren't we the romantic? Good morning to you, too, Cupcake."

Eric said nothing, just crawled out of bed and made a half-stumbling attempt for the bathroom. He peed, brushed his teeth, then started the shower, shivering a little in the cool air of the bathroom as he waited for the water to warm up. He heard Tim come in behind him and listened as he went through his own routine. He stepped into the shower.

Tim finished brushing his teeth and clicked on the portable, water-proof radio they kept on the bathroom counter.

"...And we're showing clear skies and sunshine for the day with a high near 85."

Tim stepped into the shower with Eric. "Big shock, it's going to be warm, clear, and sunny in Miami today."

"So we've finally hit fall."

"Yeah." Tim got under the spray and wet down his hair. He soaped and shampooed quickly and moved out of the way for Eric to have his turn. "I still think we need to put another head in this shower. That way one of us isn't freezing while the other hogs the water."

Eric reached out and got a hand around Tim's wrist, hauling him in. "Never said you had to move." He kissed Tim slowly, hands sluicing water up and down the other man's back. It was a good morning kiss, meant to have a little fun with Tim without making them late because of a round of shower sex. Delko pulled away after a few seconds and licked water off the tip of Tim's nose. "Good morning, Cupcake."

Tim grinned. "'Bout time you woke up." He ducked around Eric to get his hair under the water again, pushed it off his forehead, and moved to get out of the shower.

Eric lingered for a few more minutes, enjoying the feeling of the water hitting the back of his neck. When he got out he dried his hair, wiped the excess water off his body, and wrapped the towel around his waist. He shaved quickly and headed for the kitchen.

Tim was at the stove in jeans and socks with his T-shirt of the day draped over the back of one of the dining table chairs. His shoes were still by the door where he'd toed them off last night. He looked over as Eric made for the coffee maker like a man on a mission from God. "Watch the pans. I've got bacon going."

"You know that shit'll kill you, right?"

"Well, if it does, it'll take you first. It's that turkey bacon you keep swearing is the next incarnation of good meat."

"After you, of course."

Tim grinned and ghosted a hand over Eric's stomach as he walked around him to go rummage in the fridge. "Of course. I'm prime beef."

Eric laughed. "You're something." He closed the fridge and sat at the table, watching Tim move around the kitchen with a comfortable air around him. It still blew his mind sometimes that Tim could cook and was really good at it. "Where are you going to be today?"

"Lab, I think. I've still got a stack of samples to go through from that robbery yesterday. And I'm sure you'll load me down with whatever you pick up today." Tim set the frying pan filled with eggs onto the table. He handed the bacon straight to Eric.

"Hey, I like my stuff tested by the best."

"You just like your stuff tested by someone who isn't you."

Eric pulled a face. "You know I don't have the patience to be a lab rat. It's why I have you."

"So, I'm just a pretty brain to you."

Eric jumped up to get juice, detoured, kissed the top of Speed's head, and mussed his hair. "The rest of you isn't to bad, either."

Speed grinned and started in on his eggs.
