Title: Easy Come, Easy Go
By: Jaxson K.
Pairing: Nick/Gil
Rating: R
Summary: Gil was only using Nick!***
"...but I don't understand, Gil. Please explain it to me.""It's very simple, Nick. Things went by with my previous lover, and you were just something to pass the time until he came to his senses about us."
"So I didn't mean anything to you???"
"Not really, Nick. I just thought I'd have a little fun.
Nick was stunned at these revelations. Sure, he and Gil had only been together for a couple of months, but he was thinking that Gil was the one. He had hoped that his lonely days were over, and that Gil would make sure of that. This just proved how wrong he was.
Nick went to the bedroom to collect his things. He didn't have much; a couple of changes of clothes, his extra toothbrush, and his spare shaving kit. As he gathered his things, he heard Gil talking and laughing on the phone in the living room with not a care in the world.
He was holding back tears as he headed to the front door. He turned to look back at Gil and noticed that Gil wasn't even paying attention. Nick let himself out and slowly walked to his truck. He was hoping that Gil would call him back and tell him that all this was a cruel joke. It didn't happen.
After Nick left Gil's place, he drove around for a while and then decided to go home. When he got there, he went in and got ready for bed. Once in bed, he let his tears flow. All the tears he'd held back burst forth, and he ended up crying himself to sleep.
The next morning, Nick woke up and started his day. He tidied up the house and went out to buy some groceries. He was doing all this to keep his mind off of the situation with Gil. In reality, there was no more situation. He needed to get past this, and he needed to do it soon. After all, he had to work with Gil.
The next night at work was a tense one for Nick. It seemed as though every time he looked up, Gil was staring at him. He did his best to avoid Gil for most of the shift, but Gil called him to his office right before the shift ended......
"You wanted to see me, Grissom?"
"Yes, Nick, please come in and shut the door..."
Nick didn't like the sound of that but did as he was told...
"Nick, I want to tell you how sorry I am about the way things worked out..."
"Grissom, save your breath. You aren't sorry about this. You used me and made me feel like a cheap whore and then kicked me to the curb. You got what you wanted, and then you wanted me gone!"
"But, Nick...."
"No, Grissom! You have no conscience. Dammit, I was starting to really care for you, but to you it was just an affair. Easy come, easy go!"
"Nick, please, listen to me....."
"I'm done listening to you. You broke my heart AND my trust. Once I leave this office, this is finished. I will extend you the courtesy I do with my co-workers, but that's it! Do you understand?"
"It looks as if I have no choice....."
Nick walked out of Gil's office and out to his truck. He felt sooo much better giving Grissom a piece of his mind.....
