When Gil considers it objectively, it hasn't been that long. He can still see all the days when he switches to the monthly view on his e-calendar: The day he ran into Nick at the movies. The day they went on their date. The day he said he'd ask Ecklie for a transfer. The day he did so.

The monthly view also shows all the other days. The days full of questions and uncertainty, hope and anticipation, contained passion and unspoken emotions.

Gil switches the view to the new month. He wonders if the day of Ecklie's response is displayed.
