Horatio approached the bar cautiously. He nodded to the bartender and took a seat next to his lover.

“Speed?” Horatio touched his arm.

Speed jerked back and almost fell off the stool. “Don’t touch me.”

“Tim?” The redhead held Speed’s hand. “Let’s get you home.”

“No.” The brunette once again tried to pull away. “Bad. Memories.”

“Baby…” Horatio refused to let go.

“I killed him.” Speed wiped away a tear. “Lost control…paralyzed… “

Horatio closed his eyes; he hadn’t realized it was the anniversary of Speed’s first loves death. It’s the only time of the year he gets drunk. He pulled Speed off the stool and out of the bar. Tonight he would tuck him into bed and hold him close. Let him weep for a love lost and then remind him of the love he found.
