Title: Do You Wish It Was Me
By: Ericalynn
Pairing: Gil/Nick
Rating: PG
Summary: Drabble based upon “Do You Wish It Was Me” by Jason Aldean. It wasn’t the first time that Grissom showed up on his doorstep after a long shift. And it probably wouldn’t be the last, Nick realized belatedly. He knew he should tell Grissom to go home, that they were done, that he had a wife waiting at home for him …
Instead, Nick just stepped aside and let the man in. He watched Grissom pace the floor, a small tight circuit around his coffee table, around the back of the couch, passing between the lounge chairs, back to the table. It was as familiar of a path as the trail of Gil’s fingers inevitably following his tears tracks.
Did Gil love Sara? Or did he love Nick more? Was he happy with his new life, complete with a dog and fenced in yard? Or did he spend night lying awake staring at the ceiling and remembering times with Nick? It wasn’t the first time Nick’s mind asked the unanswered questions, and for once he desperately wanted to ask Gil.
But then Gil turn towards him, face set in determination before he felt the rasp of Gil’s beard against his check and a soft, dry kiss pressed to his lips.
Nick had his answer.
