Greg loved chocolate…almost as much as he loved his coffee. Nick loved Greg and wanted to make him happy, because a happy Greg meant good things for Nick later.

Valentines Day had arrived and Nick found himself shopping for a last minute gift for his boyfriend; not because he forgot, but because his caseload prevented him from doing so earlier. He arrived at the local grocery store and headed straight for the Valentines Day aisle. He was looking for the perfect thing to satisfy Greg's sweet tooth.

That's when he saw it.

It was the biggest Hershey bar he has ever seen; five pounds and bigger than a license plate! He frowned when he noticed the price…$35.00…then he shrugged it off and took off towards the checkout. Greg was worth this and so much more.

Nick left the store, giant candy bar in hand, and winced when he stepped out into the bight sun. He'd worked later than he had wanted; it wasn't quite noon, but already and the thermometer on the bank next door reported a blazing 102 degrees.

With a sigh, he got into his truck and drove out of the parking lot, glad to finally be on his way home. He hadn't driven very far before it happened. First the radio shut off, followed by the digital instruments on his dash…there was one final lurch and the truck rolled to a stop.

A half hour later and Nick and his truck were at the nearest auto repair shop, towed there courtesy of Tripe A. After a short wait he was informed that the alternator in his truck had gone out. Luckily the shop could fix it that day, but it would be an hour for the part to arrive, and another hour to get it installed. He would be on his way again in a few hours along with a small repair bill of $375.00.

Nick leaned back in the chair to wait.

Greg was watching TV when Nick finally made it home. He hit the mute button and stood up to greet his weary boyfriend.

"Sorry to hear about the truck, Nicky. Did they fix it?" Greg asked.

"Yeah, it's fine now but..." Nick held out a shopping bag and stared down at the floor.

"But what? What's wrong baby?" Greg said with concern.

Nick pulled out the Hershey bar, which currently lay bent instead of flat in his hand.

"I got you this huge candy bar for Valentines Day, but 3 hours in the heat has turned it into a blob of goo!" Nick said looking and feeling dejected. "Maybe if we freeze it..."

The look on Greg's face made Nick trail off in confusion. Why was he smiling when his gift was a mess of melted mush?

"You know Nicky," Greg spoke softly as he advanced towards his lover. "I'm in the mood for some chocolate covered you."

'Well', Nick thought to himself as Greg led him to the bedroom, 'this didn't turn out so bad after all'.

End.
