A/N: Okay, in the midst of battling with monsterbunny, I came up with these two chapters for the lover100 challenge. It’s kinda domestic nothingness, a hint of where the story is leading to and of course they end up making out. Can’t say that I can blame them ….

When the alarm clock woke them both up, they were still laying in each others arms, facing each other. Warrick opened his eyes and looked sleepily in a pair of brown eyes that looked back with a hint of a smile. Gaining consciousness, he realized that they had started rubbing their cocks together in their sleep. Not saying a word, he kissed Nick, opening his mouth, inviting Nick’s tongue in. Never breaking the kiss, they lazily moved against each other, enjoying the slow lovemaking, until they both came.

Nick gave a breathless chuckle. ‘Man, Rick, that’s weird.’

‘What’s weird?’ Warrick answered, placing butterfly kisses on every part of Nick he could reach from where he was lying.

‘We started doing this while we both were still asleep!’

‘So,’ Warrick asked with a twinkle in his eyes, ‘good weird or just plain scary weird?’

‘Definitely good weird,’ Nick answered, fingers drawing lazy circles on Warrick’s lower back. ‘I like the idea that you can’t keep your hands off me even when you’re asleep.’

Warrick closed his arms around Nick a little tighter. ‘I wish we could just stay here all night instead of going to work.’

‘Yeah, but you have to admit that ending up lying in each others arms in a cardboard box in the gutter with no money at all ‘cause we’re fired for not showing up anymore doesn’t sound very comfy,’ Nick replied.

‘Fuck you Stokes,’ Warrick said, not sounding mad at all. ‘Ruining a slow and sexy waking up moment by getting all practical on me.’

‘We already established I am the practical one Rick,’ Nick said, nuzzling Warrick’s throat. ‘But you’re right. Staying in bed here with you sounds a lot better than getting to work.’

He kissed his way down to Warrick’s chest. ‘Can I make it up to you by fixing you breakfast?’

‘I’d rather see you make it up to me in the shower,’ Warrick answered, closing his eyes under Nick’s ministrations.

‘Horndog,’ Nick snickered.

Warrick immediately rolled them over, pinning Nick down under him. ‘And don’t you forget that,’ he growled. ‘I’ve been wanting you for so goddamn long, that now that I’ve finally got you in my arms, I plan to keep you there for as long as possible.’

‘I promise to make it up to you later darlin’, but I kinda like to chew my food this time before I have to run off to a scene. So I’m gonna take a quick shower and fix us something to eat, and you can take your time and be all lazy for a few minutes more.’

And with that said, Nick got out of bed and made his way to the bathroom.
Warrick was just about to doze off again for a few minutes, when he heard Nick yelling from the bathroom.

‘Jesus Rick!’

He immediately got to his feet and went to the bathroom. He found Nick staring at his image in the mirror.

‘You know, yesterday you could have stopped before I started looking like a colony of vampires feasted off of me,’ Nick muttered, looking at his mirror image that had several marks on his neck.

‘Got caught in the moment,’ Warrick answered, amused look on his face and not sounding the least bit sorry. ‘And I probably couldn’t hear your complaints over the moans and groans you were making. I’m sorry for not knowing that ‘Rick, darlin’ please more’ was Stokesish for ‘Brown, fuck off and leave me alone’. I just thought you were enjoying it.’

Nick didn’t even bother to answer.

Warrick nudged him lightly. ‘Baby, quit with the attitude already, will ya. You know you love me.’

‘Yes I do, you know that, but can’t you just let me be at least somewhat pissed for a moment?’ Nick asked, before the idiocy of the whole situation kicked in and he started laughing.

‘Jeez, I feel like some 16-year old needing to hide a hickey from his parents.’

‘Yeah, well, considering you’ve got a chance of working the scene with Cath or Grissom, I’d say you’re about right,’ Warrick answered.

Nick groaned.

‘So I’ve got the choice between wearing a turtleneck when it’s too hot for one or just looking like this for everybody to see,’ he stated, turning on the shower. ‘Either way it sucks.’

‘Want me to make it up to you by fixing breakfast?’ Warrick proposed, walking up behind Nick and wrapping his arms around him, pressing their bodies together tightly and enjoying the way Nick’s breath caught in his throat at the sudden contact.

‘What is it baby?’ Warrick purred. ‘Changing your mind about those separate showers?’

‘Nuh-uh,’ Nick answered weakly, closing his eyes and letting his head fall back on Warrick’s shoulder. ‘I’m on my way.’

He felt Warrick’s smile against his temple. ‘I can see that you are,’ he said, while his hands wandered down Nick’s abs. Then he suddenly stepped back.

‘Okay babe, you go and take your shower, I’ll get us something to eat.’

Nick almost fell back from the sudden loss of contact. ‘Tease!’ he scoffed, but he couldn’t hold back a smile when he saw his still naked lover making way to the kitchen.

About an hour later, somewhat delayed by the de-tour he had to make to drop Warrick off at his place to get his car, Nick was on his way to a crime scene. Somehow he felt lucky for being called to go directly to a scene just before he got to the lab, so he didn’t have to meet everybody looking pretty much overdressed by wearing a turtleneck on a hot night. But the fact that he had to work the scene with Catherine pretty much nullified his stroke of luck. There was no way he could keep her from noticing either the shirt or the marks on his skin.

He was glad that it was dark when he arrived at the scene. That way at least the officers outside wouldn’t notice much. He got out of his car and walked over to Jim Brass, who was waiting for him outside a rather big estate.

‘Hey Jim, what have we got?’

‘Hey Nick,’ Brass answered. ‘Looks like an ordinary B&E, however creative it was done this time. The burglars seem to have pretended to work at a removal firm and pretty much emptied the house in plain view. Nothing special and nobody got hurt, but you know how the sheriff gets when the high and mighty are the ones being robbed.’

Nick nodded in understanding.

‘Point of entry seems to be the basement; exit went through the front door. I have a witness over here stating that the family hasn’t been seen for a few days and most neighbors the officers interviewed so far just thought they were moving without letting any of them know. It’s always nice to see that people have such good contact with their neighbors,’ Brass ended with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

‘Any ideas as to how they got through the security gate?’ Nick asked.

‘Not yet,’ Jim answered. ‘I’m on my way to meet the security guards right now. If I get some answers I’ll let you know.’

‘Tell them I’ll be needing today’s security tapes as well,’ Nick said, before making his way to the house. He adjusted his collar and walked in, searching for Catherine.

‘Catherine?’ he yelled from down the hall.

‘Over here,’ a voice came from the back of the house.

‘Hey Nicky,’ she greeted him when he got over there, looking pointedly at his shirt but not saying anything.

‘Catherine,’ he answered, putting down his kit and taking out some gloves. ‘Where do you want me?’

‘You can start in the basement, since they entered that way. It’s the best chance to find any trace of the burglars. I doubt we’ll find a lot of prints other than the family members’, it just looks too much like a well organized action for that. They have broken into the vault as well, I hope to find some tool marks or other traces over there. And we need to check the contents of the vault as well as the rest of the house against the insurance policy to see what’s missing.’

Nick grabbed his kit again and took of to the basement. The window was open, but there seemed to be no forced entry. Nonetheless he took pictures of the possible point of entry and started searching for any prints or traces he could find.
The window and its frame turned out to be clean, a bit too clean, Nick thought, but he found some dirt beneath the window.
It didn’t take him long to finish up, and when he got back upstairs he met Catherine in the living room where she was walking around with the inventory list.

‘Found anything?’ he asked.

‘A lot of prints, but I don’t know how many of them belong to others than this family. No tool marks or other traces. These guys are real good or very lucky.’ she answered. ‘Wanna check the rest of the house together?’

‘Sure,’ Nick answered, turning and following her down the hall.

‘So,’ Catherine said, looking intently at Nick. ‘When are you gonna tell me about your date yesterday?’

‘I’m not,’ Nick replied, trying to ignore the blush he felt creeping up his cheeks.

That only seemed to increase Catherine’s interest. ‘That hot, huh?’

Nick couldn’t help but feeling a smile form on his lips, which caused Catherine to laugh.

‘Never mind Nicky, you’ve just answered that one.’

‘Is there any way to keep things from you?’ Nick said, trying to look desperate.

‘Not looking like this.’ Catherine reached out and pulled his collar a little higher. ‘So, when are we gonna meet her?’

‘Knock it off Cath. It’s way too soon to tell anybody and I really don’t need another mother to tell me what to do.’

It had come out harsher than he had intended, and Catherine fell silent immediately. The look on her face made Nick regret his outburst.

‘Aw Cath, sorry. I didn’t mean it to sound like that. When I’m ready to tell, you’ll be the first to know. Okay?’

Catherine turned her head and smiled broadly. ‘God Nick, you’re so easy. One hurt look and you’re ready to spill.’

She put a hand on his arm and looked him in the eye. ‘I just want to see you happy Nick.’

‘I know Cath, I know,’ he answered, before changing the subject. ‘So, you want to sum up everything from that list while I check if it’s still present?’

‘Sure,’ she turned the page of said list. ‘Did you see an antique chandelier somewhere?’
