When Grissom came to the lab, he noticed the uncommon silence. No noise could be heard. No rock music roared. No grinning Greg Sanders danced around.

"Greg?" Grissom called, a little perplexed. No answer. He searched all the rooms - not a trace of Greg anywhere. Slowly, Grissom became furious. Where was this impossible guy? Was he drinking coffee again or flirting with Sara? Finally, Grissom gave up and went to his own office. There, he found Greg asleep on his couch. Utterly speechless, Grissom stared at him for seconds.

Greg slumbered peacefully and guilelessly. He seemed so young, so pretty and so...

His bizarre thoughts confused Grissom and he began to shout: "Sanders! Wake up! Now!"

In an instant, Greg opened his eyes and jumped to his feet.

"What are you doing? Don't you have enough work?" Grissom raged.

"S-s-sure," the still drowsy Greg stuttered. "I only wanted, I only had..."

"We have to solve one of the worst murder cases and here you are, sleeping!" Grissom interrupted him. "When will I finally get the DNA results?"

Greg, who looked insulted, extended his arm.

Now Grissom noticed the papers the young chemist held in his hand.

Greg mustered all his courage and mumbled: "I just wanted to explain that I already have all of the results. I worked the whole night. I wanted to give them to you personally. But you haven´t been here, and I just sat down here for a minute and obviously fell asleep. A 100% match. The suspect can be arrested and prosecuted now."

Grissom tore the papers out of his hand and scanned them hastily. Suddenly he smiled, satisfied. "I´m sorry I yelled at you," he said, guiltily. "This is first-class work . You are the best chemist I've ever had."

Greg was overjoyed, because Grissom didn't often praise him so generously. "It's okay, Grissom."

His boss observed him a little more closely. "You must be really tired. If you want, you´re welcome to rest on my couch some more."

Greg laughed. "No thank you, I´d better not. If I do that, everyone might think I´m lazy."

Grissom winced slightly, because Greg had guessed his first assumption.

Greg grinned broadly at Grissom´s visible embarrassment. It was a perfect day. "I would rather go home!" the chemist exclaimed merrily and went to the locker room.

Grissom smiled, amused. You had to like the guy.

"If only he would get a better haircut," Grissom mumbled to himself.
