Summary: Based on prompt #031 Sunrise.

The sunrise over the desert was spectacular. He very seldom found the time to watch it. Mostly he was working on a crime scene when the sun rose. Got so engrossed in his work that he was almost surprised when he realized that the light didn't come from the searchlights but from the sun.

Acutally, today was his day off. He should be asleep right now. Rest. Try to gather his strength. But he wanted to see it. So he had planned a midnight picknick. Had loaded his Tahoe with a blanket, a basket with a bottle of wine, some delicious fingerfood and some of his lover's favourite chocolate ship cookies.

Now he was sitting here, in the middle of nowhere and was watching how the sun slowly climbed over the horizon, painted the dark sky in light colors.

Nick's head rested in his lap and Gil thought that right now he just couldn't get any happier. That this sunrise was absolutely perfect.
