For tomorrows all my lifeNick stood in the shadowy recess of the club watching the crowd gyrate to the pulsating beat. Greg and Warrick had dragged him here in a blatant attempt to get him ‘out of the house' and if he was honest, he was glad to be somewhere with people, noise, life. The thought of being alone, silence echoing around him….he shivered and pushed the thought to the back of his mind. Swigging his beer, he made his way towards the seating area and found Warrick working his charm on a pretty blonde. "Hey man!" Warrick grinned, slapping a heavy hand on Nick's arm, obviously a little worse for wear. "Chrissie, this is Nick Stokes, best friend a man could have!" Nick smiled at the girl and leaned in close. "Hey, have you seen Sanders anywhere?" Warrick shrugged his shoulders "Probably on the dance floor, I saw him there earlier with a real hottie."
Nick nodded as he tried to ignore the stab of jealousy that suddenly gripped him. He forced another smile as he left and made his way to a better vantage point, spotting Greg in the middle of the throng, bleached blond hair wild in the strobe lighting and his face slicked with sweat. His eyes were closed as he moved, totally oblivious to anything but the rhythm.
Nick felt the familiar knot of desire in his stomach as Greg raised his arms, his torn red Marilyn Manson t-shirt lifting to reveal flashes of toned abs and sharp hipbones leading down to his black low riding jeans. As the song ended he looked up and noticed Nick was watching him, so gestured to him mouthing the words "Come and dance". Realising this was futile, he pushed his way through the bodies and joined the Texan. With a cheeky wink he grabbed the beer and Nick couldn't help but gaze lustfully at him as he tipped his head back, swallowing the cold liquid. His lips gently encircled the bottle, his Adams apple bobbing with every gulp, rivulets of sweat slipping from his forehead and tracing a path over cheekbone, past his jaw line and pooling in his collarbone. Fighting the urge to reach out and wipe the drops away, Nick quickly shoved his hands into his pockets and tried to look nonchalant.
"Hey, it's killer out there!" Greg had leaned in close to be heard over the music, lips almost touching Nick's ear, breath hot and sweet. "You should come and dance, there's plenty of chicks to choose from." He placed both hands flat on Nick's chest, feeling the rapid heartbeat within. Gaining courage from the mix of alcohol and adrenaline, he said seductively "Or you can dance with me…" Nick's shocked expression only made Greg push closer. "You were watching me out there, weren't you?" He slowly moved his hands up Nick's firm chest and clasped them behind his neck. Their faces were so close that he could see Nick's pupils dilate and hear him moan softy with long repressed desire. His tongue subconsciously ran over his lips and Greg took the gesture as an invitation. Looking deep into troubled brown eyes, he whispered "What do you want, Nick?"
Nick swallowed hard "I just want to feel alive again"
Lately, I've been walking, walking in circles
Watching, waiting for something
Feel me, touch me, heal me
Come take me higherNick had imagined the kiss many times, expecting it to be exuberant, crazy and maybe a little sloppy, much like Greg himself. Instead he felt soft lips tentatively searching him out, tongue gently slipping from between moist lips to taste him, drawing him deeper. They kissed fervently until the need for oxygen reluctantly broke them apart and they stood gasping, holding each other, both unwilling to let go. Greg traced Nicks lip with his thumb and smiled. "You have no idea how many times I've wanted to do that, ‘specially after everything that's happened. I thought I‘d lost you back then, I thought I‘d never get to tell you how I felt" Nick could only nod his agreement, having lost the ability to speak somewhere in the kiss. He nuzzled into the hollow of Greg's neck and sighed contentedly. Greg pulled him into a fierce hug and kissed the top of his head. "I'll always be here for you. It's time for you to live again babe. It's time to come out of the shadows."
