When Greg left the house he was angry, angrier than he'd been in long time. After the fight he and Nick had earlier he had lost it. He'd walked out of their house and slammed the door behind him, but not before he told Nick 'to go fuck himself'. He needed to get away, so he just started walking.

Nick was pissed as well; Greg just did not get his point of view. But he said some things he wished he hadn't, and he'd never seen Greg so angry. After Greg stormed out, Nick peered out the living room window and watched him walk away. He contemplated following him but decided against it...they both needed to calm down.

An hour later, Greg finally turned around and headed home. He had calmed down and wondered if Nick had too. He didn't make it very far before the wind began to blow and the sky grew dark. Greg looked up at the threatening sky and sighed; he knew there was no way he'd make it back before the storm rolled in. He could already hear the thunder in the distance, coming closer, growing louder. The sky lit up as the first signs of lightning flashed above him.

"Dammit," Greg muttered to himself as the first drops of rain began to fall. "Now I'm going to get soaked."

Nick checked his watch. It had been over an hour since Greg left, and now he was more concerned than angey. He heard the clap of thunder and looked outside again, frowning at the sight of the darkening sky. Storms in Vegas moved in quickly and without warning, and Greg would be caught in the middle of it for certain. As the rain poured down, Nick made a decision. He grabbed his keys, put on his jacket, and left the house, driving in the direction he knew Greg had gone.

Greg had been right...he was completely soaked. The rain poured down around him, leaving his hair plastered to his face. He was also cold and miserable, and at this moment he regretted leaving the house. Maybe if he hadn't left, he and Nick would be making up by now, in their nice warm bed. But here he was out in the rain, wet and shivering. He wrapped his arms around himself and picked up his pace; anxious now to get home where he would get warm and dry. The clouds blocked the sun and he could barely see, especially with the rain dripping into his eyes. Something caught his attention ahead of him, and he raised his head to the sight of approaching headlights. It was a truck; Nick's truck.

Nick came to a stop alongside his boyfriend, who reminded him of a cat that had been thrown into the water...hunched over, dripping wet, and very unhappy. Greg wasted no time opening the passenger door and getting into the truck; thankfully Nick had thought to turn on the heat, but Greg was still shivering.

"You must be freezing," Nick said, stating the obvious.

"Nothing gets by you, Nick," Greg replied sarcastically.

"So, you're still mad at me?" Nick asked.

Greg shrugged his shoulders. "Are you?"

"No," Nick said with a sigh. "Look G, I'm really sorry... I hate it when we fight. I said things I shouldn't have said, but I want you to know I didn't mean them. I was just angry."

"I'm sorry too," Greg agreed. "We both said some hurtful things but I shouldn't have left like that."

Nick made a u-turn and they continued down the road in silence. As they drove the rain stopped, the clouds began to dissipate and the sun came out again. The storm was over almost as quickly as it had begun.

"Thanks, Nick," Greg said as their driveway came into view. "For coming to get me."

"You're welcome," Nick replied. "Now c'mon...I think we'd better get you out of those wet clothes."

"You just want to see me naked," Greg chuckled with a smirk.

"Maybe so," Nick laughed, "but I don't want you to get sick. I think a hot shower would make you feel better."

"On one condition," Greg said.

"What's that, G?" Nick asked.

"Only if you join me," Greg said smiling.

"Try and stop me." Nick pulled the truck to a stop, leaning over to give Greg a kiss.

The storm was indeed over and everything was calm again, in more ways than one.

The End
