Summary: Greg has a new computer game and he's making trouble.***
Greg bounced excitedly down the hall of CSI and slid into the DNA lab. He hopped around as he hit the power button on his computer, waiting for the machine to turn on. His eyes searched the room and he returned his eyes to the monitor when he was certain no one else was around to watch. Pale fingers tapped impatiently upon the desk surface as the computer hummed to life and made its usual greeting. The sickly sweet melody was completely ignored by Greg today. Of course today was a special day.
The disc drive popped open after a few seconds of thought and he excitedly slid the CD-ROM disc in. The setup menu came up and he thanked god for the fast connection at the lab. While he was thanking god he decided to be grateful it was a slow day too. His hands drummed against the desk as the startup began. He reached around to grab the box the CD had come from. The Sims 2 was in large letters across the front and it showed a variety of Sims. He stared at the alien for a moment and before moving on to admire the other Sims. The flap was flicked open and he read some more information. He grinned at the saying in the center- "Take control of their lives."
Greg suddenly stopped. He'd been having a hard time coming up with something to do for a family and it had suddenly come to him. An evil smirk crossed his face as the game started. He found himself humming to the slightly annoying melody as he waited for it to finish loading. He looked at the three towns to choose from and immediately chose Strangetown. The desert seemed to resemble Las Vegas and so did the people. Well, for the exception of the aliens anyway. He scrolled around and looked at the families already living there and decided to continue his idea. He clicked on the "Create-A-Family" button and waited as it loaded. The screen suddenly popped up and asked for a last name. After a few seconds on consideration Greg typed the three letter name, C-S-I.
Now came the fun part, he had to create his family. He clicked on the New Sim button and chose male. First name- Gil. He chuckled to himself as he went about making his boss. When it came to the age choice he decided to leave Grissom as an adult. The man deserved to have a little fun. The aspiration was the easiest to choose. He clicked on Knowledge and smiled happily at his first creation. Now the he was satisfied with him he made another Sim but this time it was a female. Sara was also easy to make. After Sara there was Warrick, and then came Nick and Catherine. Brass was stuck in for fun and Ecklie was stuck in there with hopes of death. Then came Greg, the hottest and sexiest Sim alive. He nodded at his work and smiled, perfect.
He clicked finished and looked around for a house for them. He chose a nice little one and stuck them in it. The screen was loading when he heard the door behind him open. His finger darted forward to hit the monitor button and he spun around to smile at Catherine.
"Greg are you looking at porn again?" she asked with slight irritation.
He began to shake his head slowly from side to side, "No." When she raised an eyebrow at him he gave her an innocent smirk and handed over her results. She gave him a small smile before leaving. He released a long breath before turning back to the screen. That was a close one.

Greg flicked the on button for the monitor after he was positive the ghost was clear. The house had loaded and his creations were talking to each other. He made it a point to have himself talk to Sara CSI and made sure they'd keep each other busy. The Grissom Sim had already gone to read a book and he rolled his eyes. How very typical.
To his amusement Nick began to smack Ecklie with a pillow. He began to laugh hard as large minus signs appeared above their heads. Well Nick hated Ecklie and Ecklie hated Nick. Whoever said the Sims didn't reflect real life should come see this. Warrick and Catherine seemed to be talking to each other a lot. The human Greg took a moment to ponder this. He'd never really considered this combination. A shrug was his only response. Why not?
His amusement of Ecklie continued as Nick influenced him to flirt with Catherine, who promptly refused and Warrick stepped up to give him a good smack on the side of the head. He could defiantly see Warrick and Catherine together and decided to help it along. After about 10 minutes of flirting, he believed he could score with a girl much faster than this, Warrick and Catherine shared their first kiss. It was kind of sweet and progressed to them making out on the couch. He shook his head and decided to leave them alone. Well, for a few minutes anyway.
Greg was rather impressed with his Sim. He'd made impressive process with Sara and made sure they followed the same path as Catherine and Warrick. I mean come on; if Warrick could get Catherine he could defiantly get Sara. Nick was still continuously picking on Ecklie. Grissom and Brass were having a conversation about something he couldn't understand. How come these stupid things couldn't speak English? It made the entire process rather frustrating.
He watched the screen as Warrick and Catherine talked in the living room. His devious lab tech mind was already plotting how to kill Ecklie. When Ecklie changed into his swimsuit, a red speedo, Greg yelped and covered his eyes. Bad images, very bad negative images in his brain. His nice clean brain. He sighed and shook his head. Ecklie defiantly had to go.

Greg sighed as he sipped his Blue Hawaiian coffee. He was still sitting watching his Sims. He'd been occasionally interrupted by someone demanding his intelligence but he'd been quick today. No senseless chatter or extra knowledge. He'd simply handed over results and said have a nice day. Feeling slightly evil, Greg watched Ecklie walk around the house. He decided to do the easiest the thing to kill Ecklie Sim- drown him. He told the Sim to swim and closed him eyes as he changed into his speedo and got in the water. He quickly took away the ladder and laughed evilly. This was way to amusing.
Getting impatient Greg made time move faster as he finished up a sample for Nick from his B&E. After what seemed like forever, the grim Reaper showed up to finally take Ecklie away to where he belonged. Greg watched happily as he took the body but before he could leave the Sim version of Greg went to speak to the Reaper. Slowly, Greg stopped laughing. What the heck is going on?
Greg watched without any humor as his Sim played which hand is Ecklies soul in to allow Ecklie to live. Coming out of his seat he slid his fingers into his blonde hair, which was currently sticking up at many odd angles. Shaking his head slowly he watched and let out a sigh. Calm down, there's no way he'll win. As soon as the thought actually processed his sim picked the right hand and Ecklie came back to life. Greg promptly smacked his head against the table. Stupid Sim, he should take those fake electronic little lamps and stick it right up his hairy little… be nice.
Taking a deep breath Greg went to find his Sim and Sara. He and Sara were getting along very well and he decided to test how well. Bringing them upstairs to his bedroom he had them both relax on his bed. An evil chuckle escaped him as the two made out and then moved passed it. The bed was bouncing off the floor and sparks were flying. Greg watched in awe as they came up but to his shock a weird little melody played. He looked at the screen oddly. What the heck was that?
Deciding it was probably just the lab computer tweaking out on him he continued to play. Catherine and Warrick were quite cozy together. The thought of the two of them made him laugh. The sims moved about the house cleaning and repairing things. When it got dark out he had them all go to sleep. At around six in the morning Sara Sim got out of bed. Since her energy was still low Greg watched with a bit of surprise as she got up and her belly grew. He quickly checked to see how her fitness was and found it all the way up. Suddenly it clicked. Uh-oh.
Now this was funny. He had not only slept with the Sara Sidl..err.. Sim but he had gotten her pregnant too. Sara moved around in the kitchen making breakfast and he found himself simply watching her belly. Suddenly he heard screaming Sims from upstairs and was about to tell Catherine and Warrick to keep it down when he saw Ecklie being sucked into an alien spaceship. Greg watched in shock as he disappeared. Then he smiled. He'd gotten rid of Ecklie. Getting up Greg did a little happy dance around the DNA lab before sitting back into his chair.
The Sims day continued on without too much hassle. Everyone lounged around and watched TV except for Grissom who continued to read books. The sims stood and ran outside. Curious as to what was going on Greg followed them and found Ecklie being dropped off. No! He's not supposed to come back. What the hell was the point of that? Suddenly the melody played and Greg understood. MelodyPregnancy which makes Ecklie…. Pregnant?
Greg waited until the next Sim day around 6. Sara grew even bigger and Ecklie grew too. Shaking his head Greg pondered the obvious question. How the heck was that coming out? Deciding he really didn't want to know Greg decided to downsize the house. He had Grissom and Brass move next door so that he had room for the two babies coming. Hearing the door open Greg flicked the off button on the monitor and turned to smile at Sara Sidle. The brunette returned the grin.
"Hey Greg I was just stopping by for my results," she told him.
Greg nodded and found the paper and handed it to her. Getting an idea he grabbed a pen and piece of paper and turned back to Sara.
"Hey Sara can I ask you a question?"
"I think you just did."
"No really. I need to know."
Sara released a sigh and leaned against the door frame. "Okay, shoot."
"If you had a daughter what would you name her?"
"What? Why?"
"I'm curious."
Sigh and roll of eyes. "Okay I'd name my daughter Nicole."
Nodding Greg wrote it down. "How about a son?"
"Greg what's this all about?"
"Please Sar, I just want to know."
"I'd name a son Blake. Now I really need to get back to work Greg."
Greg smiled as she left and he added Blake to the list. When the door opened his head went up again and he found Ecklie standing there. For some reason he could only picture the man in a speedo.
"Sanders are you staring at me for a reason?"
"Uggh no sir. I have a question for you though."
"What is it?"
"What would you name a daughter?"
Greg sat and stared at what Ecklie had said. Tatiana. What the hell kinda name was that? Rolling his eyes Greg crossed it out. There was no way he was naming the poor kid Tatiana. He hated to even think of what Ecklie liked for boys names. Greg turned the game back on and continued to play but this time he didn't hear the door open or the person come up behind him.
"Greg what the hell are you doing?"
Greg spun around quickly and looked at Nick Stokes who was staring at the game in both shock and curiousity.
"Is that Sara? And Catherine?" he asked as he watched with a bit of awe.
Greg let out a sharp sigh. Busted.

Greg turned slowly. Very, very slowly to face Nick. The Texan now stood only a few feet from him and the computer. He suddenly got brave and decided the computer wasn't going to suck him in like it had to his co-workers. After a few more seconds of staring silently he turned to Greg.
A smile lit his face, "This is that new Sims game from Maxis isn't it?"
Greg couldn't help the shock that crossed his face. "You know what it is?"
Nick nodded without turning away from the game, "Well duh. I've wanted to play this forever. What did you do put us all in there?"
Deciding Nick wasn't going to strangle him he nodded. Nick quickly took control of the mouse and they continued to play. When he saw Sara's now very round belly he arched an eyebrow at Greg. Greg just held his hands up and shrugged innocently. Nick rolled his eyes and stole a sip of Greg's coffee. Greg cuffed him across the back of his head and Nick growled. When he saw Ecklie's belly Nick spit his coffee out and began to choke. Note to self, Greg thought, don't try to drink coffee and laugh at the same time.
Nick had recovered and sat in the chair laughing. His hands wiped over his face as he looked at Greg. "I hope you didn't get him pregnant too."
Gregs eyes widened and then he shouted, "Hell no."
Nick just grinned and turned back to the game. Catherine and Warrick were making out on the couch and Nick quietly remarked that doesn't surprise me. Nick watched Ecklies sim for a minute before looking at Greg. "Have you tried to kill him yet? There are a lot of ways I guess," Nick commented as he read the booklet that had come with the game.
Greg simply rolled his eyes at the memory. "I tried to drown him."
Nick smirked, "How about electrocution?" Nick moved to click on the bug zapper so Ecklie could stick his finger in it when Greg grabbed him.
"Nick you can't kill the innocent baby."
"Are you kidding me? This is the evil spawn of Ecklie."
"So? The aliens gave it life."
"Greg gave you been reading the bible lately? You're creeping me out."
"I'm just saying Nick. Kill him after the baby is born."
"Uh, uh. I'm killing him now."
"No!"
"Greg get off. He needs to die."
"Nick!"
"Greg!"
Both men stared at each other in silence with glares on their faces. Greg began to laugh hysterically and Nick grinned triumphantly. "I win, you laughed."
"Give me a break. Have you ever looked at yourself? You'd laugh too."
Nick gave him a that's not funny look. "Whatever." With that he electrocuted Ecklie and the sim collapsed. Again, the grim reaper appeared and he didn't look impressed. Suddenly, Sara Sim came running out and tried to plead for Ecklie's life.
"Nick stop her! He'll live," Greg warned quickly while trying to get the mouse. Sadly Nick wasn't fast enough and for the second time Ecklie came back to life. Greg groaned as he, yet again, let his head hit the table. "I think he's fricken invincible."
Nick sighed and looked out into the hall of CSI. Sara and Ecklie were walking down the hall talking. Nick nudged Greg and they both looked out. With a smirk Nick said, "That's why she saved him. They have a thing. She probably thinks he's good in…"
Greg let out a yell and covered his ears. "Stop it! I have been traumatized enough. First I see Ecklie in a speedo, then this about him being good. I'm going to die from sickness of the mind."
Realizing what Greg had said Nick looked at him with a disgusted look. Greg suddenly understood what he'd said and began shaking his head, "No not the real Ecklie the Sim. Nick that's just nasty! If I'd really seen him in a speedo I'd be dead. I would have died from disgust."
Nick smirked as they continued to play the game. At four fifteen am Sara Sim went into labor. The first baby came out and Nick smirked. "Look Greg, it's your spawn." They were laughing when suddenly the pop up came to tell them the gender. Both were shocked by what it said. There are TWO new babies joining the family. Greg's eyes widened as Nick sat there and laughed. The twin girls were named Nicole and Brooke. Greg turned to see Nick still laughing.
"What's wrong with you Nick?"
"Only you could have sex with a fake Sara on a simulated game and not only get pregnant but have twins. Only you Sanders."

Nick and Greg were still sitting in the lab playing the Sims. The two men had become intrigued by the game and had only left a few times during the course of their shift. They hated to admit it but they were enjoying controlling others lives, even if it was for only a few moments. They both found the game humoring and even for this one shift it seemed to bring a bit of calm and relaxation to their stressful jobs.
Nick was currently controlling and Greg looked on as his Sim helped Sara Sim teach their two daughters to walk. Nick's Sim was flirting with the pretty blonde neighbor. Slick Nick Stokes was putting the moves on the pretty little lady. Greg simply rolled his eyes in response as Nick chuckled to himself. Both men had bonded a bit since they started playing. Ever since the shift change they had rarely seen each other and this was a nice chance to hang out.
Nick pointed to Greg who had left the toddler on the floor. "Nice dad you are." Greg glared and stole the mouse so he could have his Sim pick up the little girl. One was a blonde while the other was a brunette. Both girls we're adorable, virtual or not. Greg was starting to think of them as his own. Wow, he defiantly needed to get away from the computer.
Greg's Sim had proposed to Sara and married her in a day. The wedding was small and private. They went off for their honeymoon (which Nick laughed and joked about constantly). Nick's Sim proposed to the blonde haired Christina and she soon moved into the house. Nick and Greg sat staring at Ecklie who was walking towards the pool. He obviously hadn't showered in a few days because of the stench surrounding him. Nick let out a sharp sigh.
"Okay that's it! Let's kill him now."
"Nick he has a daughter…"
"I don't care! Just kill him!"
"Nick how would you like to be an orphan?"
"Well if Ecklie was my dad I'd thank God."
"That's really mean Nick."
"Are you going sappy on me Sanders?"
"No. I just don't think we should kill him."
"It was your idea in the first place!"
As the two men argued, neither noticed the flies that were flying around Ecklie. Neither noticed the swarm was growing until they heard Ecklie's scream. The two both turned, wide eyed, and watched as Ecklie disappeared and a grave appeared. Nick turned to gape at Greg.
"Did he just…"
"Yup."
"Has that ever happened…"
"Nope."
"Wow."
The two sat in shock for a few moments that Ecklie had simply died. Finally Greg began to laugh and the Texan eyed him oddly. Greg shrugged in response.
"I tried so hard to kill him by drowning him and electrocution and the freak goes and gets killed by a swarm of flies. It's just… weird."
Nick nodded, "But it's very Ecklie."
"No doubt."
Ecklie's daughter soon went half nuts because of the loss of her dad (Nick still believed she should be grateful). She was shipped off to a mental ward, which left Catherine, Warrick, Nick, Greg, Christina, Sara and the twins alone in the house. They moved Catherine and Warrick out, deciding the two could enjoy some alone time.
Nick and Greg continued to play the game throughout shift, seeing the highs and lows of their Sims lives and their Sims relatives. They watched Greg's daughters grow into young women and they watched the birth of Nick and Christina's son Austin. They watched as they went from adults to seniors and celebrated their Golden Anniversaries with their ladies. Their Sims were dancing when the Grim Reaper appeared with two Hawaiian dancers and a few drinks. Greg and Nick were told they were to leave and they both nodded happily. They'd experienced everything they could in life and they'd had a good time of it. As soon as they disappeared, their family cried. Nick held out his hand and the lab rat looked at him, puzzled. "To a good life," Nick said with a grin. Greg took his hand with a smile.
"To a good life."
