Five Stages Of Love

Attraction

David's not sure when he first noticed Archie. Sure, he's noticed him before, noticed the smile, and bright eyes, but he's never really noticed him. They were just companions, fellow slaves in Jacqui's Army. But recently, he's noticed the way Archie leans forward when he's being talked to, the way he's got a smile for every different situation. He didn't know when he noticed Archie flirting with or him, or when he started flirting back, but for some reason, it really didn't bother him. In fact, he kind of liked the attention, the mindless flirting, and the way Archie listened.

Romance

As much as David would like to take credit for it, Archie was actually the one to make the first move. Archie was the one who took the initiative to ask David on a date, fumbling his words and blushing like crazy. They'd gone to see a movie, Serenity if David remembered correctly, and gone to Applebee's to listen to Archie rant about how much he loved it afterwards. David didn't mind though, he liked listening to Archie talk. Though, to make up for missing the first move, he kissed Archie first. A good knight kiss, after dropping him off.

Passion

David pinned Archie against the wall, placing rough kisses against the other male's chin and neck, nipping lightly. Archie let out a moan, squirming beneath the other's assault, but made no attempt to stop him. They'd stumble towards the couch, and they'd continue, only pausing momentarily to breath before continuing. They wouldn't go anywhere farther then that, not yet. They'd kiss, and suck, and nibble and stroke, and then they'd collapse in a heap, David resting on Archie, the Asian's arms around him. Some times they would stay like that, and just cuddle and sleep, other times the assault continued.

Intimacy

David loved the feel of Archie's skin against his own, the soft sounds he made when they slept together, but even more then that he loved the way Archie felt pressed against him. It felt like he belonged there. He'd wrap his arms around the Asian, pull him as tight as he could, and they'd just lay there, content with simply being in each other's presence. They could stay like that for hours, talking softly about irrelevant things, laughing lightly. Kissing gently. They'd fall asleep like that, and never want to wake up in the morning, even if they must.

Commitment

Archie wasn't supposed to find out like that, stumbling across the rings and a very startled and nervous David. The proposal wasn't supposed to be in front of their friends at the Christmas Party they hadn't realized they'd be throwing until Jacqui just showed up. Slightly unnerved, David dropped to his left knee, and popped the question, and all Archie could do was stare in awe. He said yes, of course, falling to his knees and kissing David, the guests temporarily forgotten. Just because they couldn't get married in this state, didn't mean Jacqui could kill them planning their wedding.
