Summary: Don has a crush....

Don could be the life of the party when he felt like it. He could keep everybody laughing for hours with this antics and jokes. That is until a certain person showed up.

After that, he would forget what he was joking about, and have to start over. It didn't happen every time, but when it did, people noticed.

This always made Don feel like shit because he tried so hard not to let his feelings show. He worked with this guy, and was so hot for him, yet scared to death at the same time, that sometimes he didn't know what to do.

He was nothing but professional at work, but at home, well, that was a different story! This guy was the star of Don's ultimate jack off fantasies and had been for a while. He would come up with all sorts of scenes in his mind to play out starring his "crush". The next day at work, Don's face would burn with shame every time he had to look the guy in the eye.

This went on for a few months until one day he and Stella were on the way to question a suspect about a case.

"Don, I know it's none of my business, but you're gonna have to tell him sooner or later."

"What are you talking about, Stell?"

"Oh, okay, so you're gonna play all innocent on me? I'm talking about your crush on you-know-who."

"I know what you mean, I'm just afraid I might be making a mistake."

"Aww, Sweetie, I honestly don't think you'll be making a mistake. Matter of fact, I think he just might like ya back. I see how he watches you when you aren't paying attention."

Don wondered if it was true. He now knew he was going to have to pay closer attention when he was around "the crush". His CSI counterparts noticed things that he missed. It was their job to do so. He knew he was going to have to be extra careful especially since Stella noticed.

Days went by and Don was busy with several cases. He didn't mind because on some  of the cases he got to work with "the crush" on a fairly regular basis. This pleased him to no end. He slowly started working the courage up to say something to his crush when the rug was yanked right out from under him.

He and Danny were in the locker room when "the crush" walked in and told Don he wanted to see him in his office before he left. Don blushed from head to toe, and Danny noticed immediately.

"So that's who ya been mopin' around over?"

"Fuck ya Messer! I don't know what the hell you're talkin' about!"

"Liar! You've got it so bad for him that just about everybody knows about it. Hell, we're taking bets on who's gonna make the first move!"

"I'm so not having this conversation. I'd better go see what he wants."

Don made his way to the office and knocked on the door. "The crush" motioned for him to come in while he finished his phone call. Don was a nervous wreck. Here he was with his crush with nothing but a desk between them. He felt like he was gonna puke.

"Don, are you okay? You look ill."

"I'm alright. Just a case of nerves is all."

"What are you nervous about? Has something happened?"

"Not exactly...just something on my mind."

"So tell me."

"I don't know if that's wise. It's my problem, I need to deal with it."

"Maybe I can help, Don. At least let me try."

"Okay.....There's someone I really like, and I know how I feel, and what I want. The trouble is I don't know how he feels because I'm afraid to tell him how I feel."

"Are you afraid of his reaction, or being rejected?"

"I think it's a bit of both. This guy's like nobody I've ever wanted to be with. I'd be so good to him, and I think he would be good for me."

"You really think I'd be good for you, Don?"

"WHAT????"

"You heard me. Do you think I'd be good for you?

"I know you would. I really think we could be happy together."

"I'm willing to try if you are. I've wanted this for a long time."

Don could not believe he was hearing this. He had wanted to hear these words for so long, and now he was. The best part about it was they were actually coming from "the crush" himself. What happened next was even more than Don could have hoped for. "The crush" came around his desk and stood before Don.

"Are you sure about this, Don?"

"I am."

"Well, let's go have some dinner and talk."

Don took a deep breath and said a silent prayer thanking God for letting Mac Taylor understand and for blessing him with whatever it was he had that made Mac want him.
