Horatio ran a hand through his now silver hair as he got ready for bed. His old team had surprised him for his seventy-fifth birthday party. He lay down, his thoughts drifting back in time. It had been twenty-five years since that fateful day. The day he lost his lover. The pain was still as great after all these years as it was the moment it happened.

The redhead never took another lover. He preferred to live his life alone, filling his life with his friends and family. His heart belonged to Speed and there was no room for anyone else.

As he settled down for the night he felt a familiar presence. He sat up in bed and blinked in shock. Speed stood before him, radiant in his spirit form.

“It’s time to go home.”
