"Hey Cath? Have you seen Nick anywhere around?" Grissom asked Catherine as she passed by him in the hall.

"No but if you find him tell him I need to see him about our case," Catherine said not even looking up from the folder she was reading.

"Okay," Grissom told the retreating figure. Grissom continued on his quest to find Nick. He walked past the lab and had to take a few steps backwards. He saw Nick leaning so close to Greg, you couldn't slide a piece of paper in between hem.

"Nick? I'd to speak to you for a few minutes," Grissom stated. He about laughed when Nick jumped about five feet into the air. Greg looked like he was going to die from embarrassment.

Grissom walked out of the lab to give the two boys a few seconds alone. A minute later, Nick walked into the hall and stood in front of Grissom. He stared at the ground instead of looking the older man in the eyes. He knew exactly what Grissom was going to say.

"Nicky, I'm disappointed in you. You know I don't care about your sexuality, but you also know that you have to keep your personal life from mixing into your work," Grissom said in a soft tone so only Nick could hear.

Nick looked up at him with a look that Grissom had never seen Nick wear towards him. Anger. Nick was angry at him.

"What's wrong with a little flirting? It's not like I'm going to fuck him right in the middle of the lab where all can see. Anyway, Catherine and Warrick flirt all the time right in front of you, and you say nothing to them. I know better than let something like that interfere with my work. For once Grissom, trust me." Nick gave Grissom one more angry look and walked off.

"Nicky, wait," Grissom tried to get Nick to stop.

"What now, Grissom?" Nick asked as he turned to face the older man.

"I understand your frustration. I know you don't need it, but I'm just trying to protect you Nicky. Also Catherine wanted to see you. I believe she's in the evidence room," Grissom said.

Nick nodded and walked off to the evidence room.

Later, Greg was making a pot of his Hawaiian blue coffee that he hoped to keep as a secret but he was going to share it with Nick. He sat down in a chair and hoped that he hadn't got the other man in trouble. That was all he needed on his first day there.

He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't see or hear Nick come in. Nick spent a few minutes just looking at the new labrat. He was a beautiful sight. A beautiful sight he'd liked to see a lot more. He walked behind Greg and after Greg sat down he coffee cup on the table, he embraced him. Greg jumped about as high as Nick did earlier.

"My God man, don't do that again," Greg said breathlessly. But he leaned into Nick's touch.

"Sorry. Hey I was wondering. Would you like to go to breakfast with me after shift?"

"Sure."
