"I can't believe that people actually read crap like this," Ryan said, rolling his eyes as he folded the part of the newspaper he'd been reading. "How to know what your lover really wants. There's only one way to do that. You should just ask them!"

Greg laughed, shaking his head as he leaned back in his chair and folded his arms across his chest. "That might not always work," he objected, his gaze meeting Ryan's. "If you have any problems with the relationship, they probably wouldn't tell you the truth about what they wanted."

"That doesn't apply to us," Ryan said softly, reaching across the table towards Greg. It only took a moment for his boyfriend's hand to be grasped in his own, their fingers entwining like vines. "You and I can tell each other everything. Including what we want the most."

"So what do you want more than anything else in the world?" Greg asked, tilting his head to the side and regarding Ryan quizzically. "Let me guess. You want Santos to be put away for good, without having to testify and having all of the past come out into the open."

Ryan shook his head, squeezing Greg's hand affectionately. "No, that's not even close to what I want," he said, his voice soft and husky as he fixed his gaze on his boyfriend. "What I want more than anything else in the world is to be with you for the rest of eternity."

A lump formed in Greg's throat at the words; he couldn't seem to breathe properly, much less get any words out. He had known that Ryan loved him; there was no doubt of that in his mind, and there never would be. But hearing those words seemed to make his heart expand.

"All I've ever wanted is to find somebody to love who loved me just as much in return," Ryan continued, still speaking in that soft, husky voice. "But I'd given up thinking that I would. Then, when I walked into that office and saw you, I knew you were the one."

"I knew you were meant for me, too," Greg whispered, finally managing to speak around the lump in his throat. "I don't know how. I just did. I fell in love with you the first time you smiled at me, Ry. The first time I looked into your eyes, I knew you were all I've ever wanted."

Greg didn't know what made him get up and move towards Ryan, but it seemed that his boyfriend had the same idea. Within moments, they were wrapped in each other's arms, their mouths locked with each other, their bodies so close they could each feel the other man's heartbeat.

"I don't want to move," Greg murmured, resting his head against Ryan's shoulder. "I want to stand right here all day, with your arms around me. I feel like if we move, it'll break some kind of spell and we won't ever be exactly like this again."

"We will be," Ryan said softly, his voice slightly hoarse, husky with desire. "Do you know what I want, Greg? For moments like this to happen between us every day. I want to take some time out of every day just to be thankful that I'm with you, and that you love me."

"That's a great idea." Greg raised his head, raising a hand at the same time to stroke gentle fingertips down Ryan's cheek. "I want that, too. There are so many things that I want for us, really. I don't know if I could put all of them into words."

"Try," Ryan urged him, tightening his arms around Greg's waist. "Can you at least tell me a few of them?" he asked, tilting his head to the side and regarding his boyfriend with a curious expression. "I want to know what you want to happen in our future."

"Come on, let's go sit down," Greg said, slowly disentangling himself from Ryan's embrace and taking his hand to lead him to the couch in the living room. When they were both comfortably seated there, he leaned against Ryan, resting his head against his lover's shoulder.

"What I want for our future," he said softly, "is for us to always be together. I know we'll have a few little disagreements here and there. Maybe we'll even have some big fights. But I don't want us to ever lose each other, Ry. I want us to always be able to work things out."

"We will," Ryan told him, sliding an arm around Greg's waist and brushing a kiss across the top of his head. "I promise you that, Greg. It's what I want, too. I can't imagine my life without you in it. I couldn't leave you even if I wanted to. It's just not possible."

"If you left me, I don't think I'd want to keep on living," Greg whispered, shaking his head. "You're so much a part of me that I wouldn't be living without you. I'd just be existing, and there's a big difference between the two. I don't want to live like that."

"I'll never leave you, Greg," Ryan murmured, placing hand under his boyfriend's chin and tilting Greg's face up to his. When their lips met, the kiss was gentle and loving, both of them pouring their hearts into the contact, clinging to each other as though they would never let go.

"You know what I want more than anything else right now?" Ryan murmured when they finally broke the kiss. When Greg didn't answer immediately, he continued, a smile curving his lips. "I want to take you to the bedroom and make love to you all day."

Greg smiled up at him, then stood and held out his hand to Ryan. "That sounds like a great idea to me," he said softly, his gaze on his boyfriend's face. "I wish we could stay there forever. Being with you all the time is all I've ever wanted since I first met you."

"We'll be together every second," Ryan said softly, getting to his feet and taking Greg's hand in his. "Even if you're not right by my side, we're still together in our hearts, and that's where it matters most." He slid an arm around his boyfriend's waist, pulling Greg close.

"Right now, I just want to be with you in the physical sense," Greg whispered, leaning forward to press a gentle kiss to the sensitive hollow at the base of Ryan's throat. "I want us to make love all day and then go to work happy tonight. How does that sound?"

"That sounds fantastic," Ryan murmured, his heartbeats accelerating at the mere thought of making love to Greg. "It's what I want, too -- and the sooner, the better." As one, the two of them turned towards the hallway that led to their bedroom.

By the time they fell onto the softness of their bed, both men were breathless with desire, pulling at each other's clothes, their bodies anxious for what was to come. They were both lost in fulfilling their desires, the rest of the world fading away until what they wanted was all that mattered.
