Greg Sanders ran into his boss"s office, well it was more of a speed walk, because he knew if he ran he"d be getting odd looks and questions for the rest of his shift.

Grissom didn"t left his head as the young lab-tech came rushing into his office. "Yes Greg?" He questioned.

"You have to come to my lab, it"s an emergency." Greg said hurriedly.

Grissom took off his reading glasses, pushed his chair back from his desk and stood up. "Ok Greg lets go."

Greg walked alongside his boss until they came to his lab. Grissom walked in the laboratory by himself and sighed. "I"d prefer it if you didn"t use me as a human shield, Greg." Greg moved forward and muttered an apology. "Now where is this emergency?" Greg pointed a finger. Grissom followed it to a rack of test tubes, and mentally chastised himself for flinching. There underneath six test tubes was a giant hairy spider. He looked at Greg with disbelief in his eyes: "Your emergency is a spider?" He sounded slightly amused.

"It"s not funny Grissom. I can"t get to my test tubes and Sarah"s going to yell at me if I don"t have the name of what she found underneath her D.B."s fingernails, back to her in twenty minutes." Greg knew he sounded like a petulant child, but the spider was fucking huge.

Grissom picked up a beaker; he coaxed the spider out with a pen and slipped the beaker over it. He grabbed the notebook lying open on Greg"s chair and slipped it under the overturned beaker. "It"s only a huntsman* Greg, it wont hurt you, it is mostly harmless. I"ll put it outside for you." Grissom said in a soothing voice.

Greg followed Grissom out of his lab and out of the building, trying to stay as far away from the huntsman in his beaker as possible. Grissom gently put down the beaker and notebook, he let the spider out and shoed it away. He handed the items back to Greg who took them tentatively.

Greg bit his lip and then lent down and kissed Grissom softly on the cheek. "Thanks Grissom." He said and walked back to his now spider free lab.

Grissom touched his cheek, that boy was always surprising him. He thought about putting the spider back into Greg"s lab for another kiss but decided against it when he realised the spider had already gone and Greg would get to suspicious if he did it again too quickly. He smiled and walked back to work.

The End

* Huntsmen according to my mum are only found in Australia. So for all you non Australians, huntsmen are these really big – about 12 cm by 5 cm, spiders. They are hairy and mostly harmless. Sometimes they come inside and the easiest way to get rid of them is to put a bowl and slide it into a book or something then put it outside.
