Nick had been the last person at the lab to find out.
He claims it wasn't obvious, but everyone knows he is oblivious when it comes to anyone who isn't a gorgeous woman.
They had been sitting in the break room, just the two of them, when he decided to subtly set him up with a friend of the girl he was currently dating.

"Does she have a penis?" Greg had asked.
Nick looked up from his case folder, slightly unsettled by how serious Greg has sounded when he said it. He wasn't being serious, right? "No."
"Then i'm not interested."
Nick stared at him for a few seconds, trying to figure out how he was reacting to this.

It took him a few minutes to realize that he wasn't reacting at all.

"Well. I've got this other friend..." He had said it without thinking, but when he thought about it later on his drive home he knew Greg and Alex would be great together.

And they were.

Until Alex tried to kill him.

            "Alex is back."
Nick's jaw stopped working halfway through chewing his krispy kream donut, and he stared up at Greg his mind processing what the younger CSI had just told him.
"Nick! Did you hear what the fuck I said?! Alex is back!"
"Back?!" He said, spraying bits of partially masticated donut onto the table. He remembered he needed to swallow, so he did.
"Back?" He repeated like an idiot.
"He's out there sweet talking the receptionist!"
"The receptionist?"
"No, Nick, Papa Olaf. Alex is out there sweet talking my Papa Olaf."
"I woke up like thirty minutes ago, man. Gimmie a break." Nick shot back defensively.
"No!" Greg grabbed him roughly by the shirt sleeve and pulled him up.
"Hey!"
"You got me into this mess. If it weren't for you i'd have never met the guy!"

Well, that was true. But how was Nick supposed to know he liked to smother people in their sleep?

They probably would have gotten Alex in some kind of trouble if Greg hadn't turned into a screaming queen, running into the crime lab in his pink silk bath robe and spouting off his ideas of the proper punishment.
When Greg finally convinced them to call Alex in for questioning he told them he'd just broken up with Greg, and they'd written it off as Greg's elaborate way of getting back at him. Greg didn't speak to anyone about anything not work related for weeks.

Nick was dragged out into the hallway, and was shocked to see the familiar man heading right towards them. His mind was racing with possible ideas, but nothing seemed plausible.

Unless he could somehow acquire a superman costume and a very large tub of yellow jell-o in the next five seconds.

With ideas rapidly dissapearing, Nick's mind shut down completely and he wrapped his arm around Greg's waist, pulling him towards him.
"Alex!" Nick was sure Greg hasn't meant to sound that high pitched. "What are you doing here?"
Alex smiled in a way Nick was sure was supposed to be charming. It only came off as creepy.
"I was in the neighborhood. Thought I'd stop buy and see you." His gaze was on Greg now, and an eerie feeling of protectiveness washed over Nick.

He pulled Greg closer to him.

"Nick." Greg hissed.
Alex seemed to notice and raised an eyebrow. "What's going on?"
"We're together now."
"Excuse me?"
"We're together now."

He now seemed utterly confused, but Greg caught on quickly. He wrapped his arms around Nick's abdomen and squeezed him.
"Six months tomorrow."

He seemed totally confused now. "I thought... I thought you were straight."

"I changed that." Greg said, looking at Nick and winking.
Alex seemed at a loss for words. "H-how?"
"Well, he came over-" Nick started.
"A convention." Greg said, almost at the same time."
"He came over to my hotel room when we were at a convention." Nick added quickly.

"We're so close." Greg looked back at Alex, smiling sweetly.
Nick smiled too. "It's like we finish each other's-"
"Sandwiches?"
Nick looked at Greg, the realization of how close they were startling him. "Sentences. Why would I say-"
"Sandwiches?" Greg tried again.
Nick only paused slightly before answering. "That time I was going to say sandwiches."

Alex could only stand there, staring.

Nick and Greg stared back, arms wrapped around each other.

"Right, well. I really should be going." Alex said finally, scratching the back of his neck uncomfortably.
"Keep in touch!" Greg called as his ex-boyfriend turned and began walking away.
"Don't be a stranger!" Nick added.
He waited for Alex to walk around the corner before looking at Greg, their closeness not startling him as much as it did before. "Sandwiches?" He asked.

"I eat your sandwiches out of the fridge all the time, I thought that's what you were talking about."

"You think eating someone elses sandwiches is a sign of a close relationship?"

Greg shrugged removing his arms from around Nick and grinning. "I can dream." He said before dissapearing back into the breakroom.

Nick had been the last person at the lab to find out.
He claims it wasn't obvious, but everyone knows he is oblivious when it comes to anyone who isn't a gorgeous woman.
They had been standing in the hallway outside of the breakroom, just the two of them, when Greg had subtly decided to admit his more-than-platonic feelings for Nick.
