Nick stared up at the ceiling of the bedroom, watching the lights dance across the ceiling as thoughts engrossed his mind. He knew what he was doing was wrong, and he knew that he should stop, but every time he told himself that, he found himself in the same situation as he had before and spent his time starting at the dark ceiling, regretting the secret he had been harboring for so long.

Something shifting next to him brought Nick out of his thoughts and made his heart jump as he jerked his head to the side. The young lab tech was now facing him, still sleeping with a peaceful look on his face. Nick turned to face Greg and smiled softly, sadly as his mind wandered off again.

It was an accident that they had slept together. It was only a week after the explosion; three days after Greg came home from the hospital. Nick came by to see Greg, to try and cheer him up by playing a bit of Playstation 2. They went from playing virtual football to ending up in Greg's bed, kissing and undressing each other. The next day, when Nick had come back over to Greg's to talk about what happened between them the previous night, they ended up making love again.

It had been like that almost every day for three months, and no one in the lab ever knew that Nick and Greg were sleeping together.

This time, a whimper coming from Greg's lips brought Nick back to where he was. Greg's face, though still sleeping, was etched with worry and another whimper escaped his lips. With a gentle sigh, Nick wrapped his arms around Greg, trying to offer him some comfort. He responded by shifting to get comfortable, then remained still as he returned to his dreams.

It was another hour before Nick, carefully, got out of bed and got dressed to head back to his house to get ready for work. He wrote Greg a quick note and left it on the nightstand, giving Greg a gentle kiss on the forehead before he left the apartment and headed to his car sitting in the parking lot.

He knew he couldn't hide it forever. It would only be a matter of time before they were found out. One simple kiss at work, a simple touch that looked too suspicious and everyone would know. Then everything would change. For good.

As Nick got into the car and shut the door, he started at the building, knowing that one day, he would lose it all when everything came into the light about him and Greg.

But for now, All he could was start the car and go into work, pretending nothing ever happened between them.

Like he did every day for the past three months.
