Title: Pursuing Boredom
Author: Kuroi Neko-kun
Pairings: gen
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Don't own them. Though I'd like to see this scene in CSI: NY.
Warning: none
A/N: Thank you Stellaluna for shooting off an idea for me. I read the fic, Snow Can Wait (which is a very good piece, by the way) and I couldn't help imagining Danny and the rolling chairs. After a few ponders, this fic was birthed. Thank you once again, Stellaluna! I never thought I could write a humor fic for NY.
Summary: Boredom plus rolling chairs plus Danny Messer equals?

"Move!" Stella stopped for a second before realizing that a speeding body was rushing towards her. She quickly took a step back just to avoid collision. She sighed, noticing who it was and what was happening. Danny was bored again, since it was a rare slow day in the crime lab and he had nothing to do. Listening to his inner child, the man had taken one of the rolling chairs and decided to hallway surf for kicks. Stella had warned him time and time again that Mac would kick his ass if he found out what Danny had been doing. That is if Mac came out of his office to check up what's going on which he doesn't, so Danny's pretty much home free.

"Messer!" Stella looked up to see Aiden with one shoe in her hand as she ran barefoot, chasing after Danny. "Give me back my shoe!" Danny was laughing as he rolled away.

"Make me!" he retorted.

"I'll tell Mac!" she shouted back in frustration.

"Tattletales go to hell!" he shouted in a lilt before turning the corner and disappearing from her sight. Stella tried to keep her amusement but a smile broke across her face. Somehow, she would bring it up to Mac about Danny's maturity before his promotion to second grade. She was about to get back to what she was planning to do when she heard a crash. Concerned, Stella rushed to the direction of the sound. When she arrived, her concern morphed into humor and she began laughing out loud. Danny had crashed into, of all people, Mac. The chair was upturned and was in between the supervisor's legs. Danny was piled on top of Mac. Aiden had stopped in time and joined Stella in the laughing session. Mac shot looks at them but it only fuelled more laughter.

"Hey Mac," Danny said, grinning sheepishly.

"Danny, what were you doing with the chair?"

"Nothing," he lied.

"Nothing would not lead us to this position, Danny," he muttered, glaring at the bespectacled CSI.

"Well, I was… uh…" he tried thinking of an explanation but nothing came up.

"Danny," Mac said, letting out a sigh," Just get off me." Danny must have realized he was still on top of Mac as he quickly scrambled up and got the chair off as well.

"Sorry," he said. Mac got up and brushed himself before handing a shoe back to Aiden who began to put her shoes back on her feet.

"I think this belongs to you," the supervisor said before looking at Danny, not able to think about what to do.

"Just get that chair back to where it came from," he muttered. Danny just grabbed the chair and was about to roll it back. Mac smacked the back of Danny's head.

"Ow! What was…" he trailed off, noting the look Mac was giving him and went off with the chair like a good boy. Once he was gone, Stella turned to Mac, her arms crossed.

"Feel better?"

"Yeah," he said," I'm thinking of doing that as Danny's personal punishment."

"Please do," Aiden said," If it'll get him off my case… and my shoes." Mac gave them an amused smile. He was considering the thought. Stella gave a smile before shaking her head. Maybe the day wasn't so boring after all.

The End

A/N: Seriously, I never thought I'd write a humor fic for NY!
