Ryan gasped as he thrust into Greg, looking down at the man in his arms. Greg met his gaze steadily even as his hips rose to meet Ryan's, his hands gripping Ryan's shoulders, his breath coming in ragged gasps as the two of them strained towards completion.

No one had ever made him feel like this, Ryan thought to himself, closing his eyes and gasping out Greg's name. No one had ever made him feel that he was powerful, invincible, as though he was soaring into the clouds, as high in the sky as the sun itself.

Maybe he was flying too close to the sun, but he didn't care. Making love to Greg was the most incredible feeling that he could possibly imagine; he could die happy if he died in Greg's arms. This was all he had ever needed, all that he could ever possibly desire.

He thrust his hips forward again, dimly hearing Greg's soft cry as the other man's hips rose to meet his own. He could feel the warm rush of Greg's release between their bodies, feel those muscles tightening around him, feel Greg's body spasming in his embrace.

With one last thrust, Ryan let himself go, feeling his own climax take over his body, leaving him gasping and trembling in Greg's arms. He rested his head against his boyfriend's shoulder, sliding his arms around Greg and pulling him close as they both came back down.

He didn't need more than this to be completely happy, Ryan told himself, finally raising his head to look at Greg, raising a hand to stroke gentle fingers through his boyfriend's hair. Greg was everything to him, the center of his universe, all that he'd ever wanted.

Lying here next to Greg, both of them basking in the afterglow of their lovemaking, Ryan felt that he had everything in the world that he could ever possibly want. He felt invincible, as though he could do anything, be anything, as if he could conquer the world.

And all because Greg Sanders loved him. He couldn't hold back his smile; when he lifted his head to gaze at Greg, he realized that his boyfriend was looking at him, the other man's smile mirroring his own, their gazes locking and holding.

"What are you thinking about?" Greg whispered, raising a hand to stroke gentle fingers through Ryan's hair. "Your eyes look like you're far away from here, even though you're looking right at me. I hope you're thinking about me. I'd kind of be insulted if you weren't."

"Of course I'm thinking about you," Ryan murmured, lowering his head to brush a gentle kiss across Greg's softly parted lips. "I'm thinking about how you make me feel. So invincible, like I could touch the stars. Like I'm flying so close to the sun that I might burn up."

"I wouldn't want that," Greg whispered, his hand moving to cup Ryan's cheek. "I want you to stay right here with me. I don't want you to burn to a cinder -- or have the wax on your wings melt and make you crash back down to the ground. I want you safe."

"Loving somebody is never safe," Ryan told him, his voice suddenly serious. "It's always a risk, Greg. You never know if that love will last, or if it'll change. But with us, I don't think we have anything to worry about. Our lives might change, but what we feel for each other never will."

"I can't imagine not loving you," Greg said softly, his fingertips stroking the soft skin of Ryan's cheek. "Now that I've found you, my life would never be the same without you. I'd die without you, Ryan. You're too much a part of me for me to ever let go."

"I feel the same way," Ryan whispered, his throat closing on the words. He had to swallow hard to get past the lump that had suddenly formed in his throat, his voice very soft when he spoke again. "You're my everything, Greg. You always will be."

"I never thought I'd ever hear anybody say that about me," Greg murmured, raising his other hand to run his fingers through Ryan's hair again. "Before I met you, I'd pretty much accepted that I would be alone for the rest of my life. But you changed everything for me."

"You make me feel invincible, Greg," Ryan told him, framing his boyfriend's face with his hands and gazing down at him. "You make me feel like I can touch the stars. If I could really do that, I'd risk flying too close to the sun to catch one and bring it to you."

"The stars and the sun aren't out at the same time," Greg pointed out with a smile. "So if you were flying too close to the sun, you wouldn't be able to catch a star. You'd have to wait until the moon was out to get one. But I don't need a star, as long as I've got you."

"You'll always have me," Ryan told him, his voice catching in his throat. "I'll be right here by your side for all of our lives, Greg. For all of eternity. I'm never going to leave you, babe. I couldn't. It'd be easier to rip my heart out and stomp it to a bloody pulp."

"I'd never want you to do that," Greg murmured, reaching up to take Ryan's face between his hands and gaze into his eyes. "That heart belongs to me, Ry. I don't ever want anything to happen to it. I'd give my life to keep it safe. And mine is in your hands."

Ryan nodded, feeling tears rising behind his eyes. How was it that this man could reduce him to such an emotional state just by saying a few words? Greg had such power over him -- and he was glad to give himself up to that power and let it take him where it would.

Greg made him feel strong and invincible, capable of doing anything. But there were times when this man could take his breath away, make him feel weak and vulnerable -- and maybe the strength of what they shared lay in the fact that he could be both of those things.

Loving Greg would never be a weakness, not for him. That love would always be his greatest strength; it would always make him feel invincible. He and Greg were both strong people on their own, but together, nothing could stand in their way.

He could touch the stars, fly close to the sun without getting burned, as long as he had Greg in his arms and in his heart. He had no fear of falling; he knew that Greg would be there to catch him, just as he would be there for Greg for the rest of their lives.

Closing his eyes, Ryan drew Greg closer to him, starting to drift off to sleep with a smile on his lips and love for the man he held blossoming in his heart. He was more content than he'd ever been in his life, and the feeling of invincibility was showing no signs of fading any time soon.
