Title: Family Values
Author: Rpgirl
Pairing: Nick/Greg
Rating: PG-13
Summary: The team finds out Greg has a sister, and that she's British. What else has Greggo been hiding?***
Greg walked into the break room with Grissom, both walking over to the coffee pot. The rest of the team was already there.
"So did you guys finish up your case?" Nick asked.
"Yep. Wife was jealous because her hubby was in an affair." Greg summarized sitting next to Nick.
"So do we have anything new?" Warrick asked.
"Nope, it's been kinda dead tonight." Grissom said, sitting at the head of the table.
"I'm just happy to be sitting down." Greg said, stretching like a cat.
Greg Sanders you have a visitor in the lobby. The voice said over the intercom.
"And I'm back up on my feet." Greg said, getting up as the team laughed.
"Poor G." Nick said, snickering as his boyfriend smacked him lightly in the back of the head.
"Question is, who the hell is the visitor?" Greg said walking out.
Greg waved to Archie and Jacqui while he walked, more so bounced down the hallway.
He reached the lobby to see a young woman, with a pale face, platinum blonde hair, grey eyes, and what looked like a school uniform.
"Greg!" The girl said, he recognized the voice.
"Holy shit. Mela?" Greg asked, as the girl nodded and hugged him.
"Hey!" She said, kissing both of his cheeks.
"Oh man, I haven't seen you since the wedding." Greg said, stepping back to look at her.
"Yeah, where you promptly LEFT directly after." Mela said, putting her hands on her hips.
"Come on, you have to meet Nick."
"Oh the boy." Mela said, in a thick British accent.
"So now your British?" Greg asked.
"Well I've been living there since I was born!" Mela said loudly, following him down the halls. They both got a few looks from the techs, but they ignored them.
When they reached the break room, everyone was still laughing.
"Hey Greggo, who's the girl?" Sara asked, as Nick rose a brow.
"I'd like to introduce you all to the lovely, intelligent, sometimes stupid, Mela Thyme." Greg introduced as Mela smiled.
"Greg shut up." Mela said, blushing scarlet.
"Who is she though?" Catherine asked.
"This is my little sister." Greg said smiling.
"I didn't know you had a sister." Warrick said, raising a brow.
"Oh thanks Greg." Mela said, hitting his arm lightly, "There's real sibling love right there."
"It never came up. Besides that, you haven't told me why you're here." Greg said, as the took a seat on the couch.
"Well Mother apparently called you, left a message and then sent me here for the holiday." Mela said and added, "Bryan wanted to go on a second honeymoon."
"Is that asshole treating you well?" Greg asked his sister.
"No. He sent me to a co-ed boarding school in SCOTLAND!" Mela said, and added, "Like it's not enough that he has to make mother into a complete bitch, he has to send me off to a boarding school that teaches what to do at dinner tables and what not to do."
"What?!" Greg said incredulously.
"Yeah, it's completely barking over there. I mean it's complete bollocks that I have to go there, then I have to come here. Did you know I got lost as soon as I got off the plane? AND I got hit on by some 50 year perverted old man, who tried to give me a ride. I mean SERIOUSLY, I get enough of the guys at school and the teachers without that." Mela said, shuddering.
"What's barking?" Grissom asked.
"Barking...as in.." Mela said, trying to explain the lingo.
"Barking means mad. You're supposed to say barking mad." Greg said, grinning.
"How do you know?" Sara asked.
"I lived there up to my senior year, in which I moved to San Francisco. I moved in with my Aunt Hester." Greg said.
"Yeah left me all by my lonesome while Mom dated this complete creep." Mela said, sticking her tongue out at Greg.
"Alright, now introductions. This is Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows, Warrick Brown, Sara Sidle, and Nick Stokes." Greg said, as Mela smiled.
"I have heard a lot about all of you. Mr. Grissom has some kinda fetish with bugs. Ms. Willows has a young daughter about my age. Mr. Brown is recently divorced, Ms. Sidle is a male form of Mr. Grissom minus the whole bug fetish, which is REALLY disgusting by the way. Mr. Stokes is my brother's boyfriend." Mela said, as they all started laughing at Sara and Grissom's description.
"You can call us by our first names." Warrick said.
"Cool."
"We have another kid to take care of besides Lindsey now." Nick said finally speaking.
"Kid?" Mela said, defensively.
Brass walked into the break room, and spotted Mela.
"Oh my god. It's the pervert. GREG SAVE ME!" Mela said, pushing Greg up and hiding behind him.
Greg looked at Brass, then looked behind him and started laughing his head off.
"What's so bloody funny Greg? I'd like to know." Mela said, as Sara and Nick started laughing too.
"This is Jim Brass he's a detective." Grissom said, as Mela blushed.
"Oh my...I'm so sorry. I had no idea." Mela said, putting her hand over her mouth. Catherine and Warrick started snickering at the situation.
"You're that girl I tried to help. What are you doing here?" Brass asked.
"This is my sister Mela Thyme." Greg said, his laughter dying down to a slight snicker.
"You have a sister? You poor girl." Brass said sympathetically.
"Hey Greg is a cool brother. Especially when he kicked Scott Davenport's ass because he tried to kiss me when I was five." Mela said as Greg shook his head.
"So how old are you?" Catherine asked.
"I'm sixteen." Mela said, smiling brightly, "Old enough to be declared an independent."
"Huh?" Grissom said.
"It means in England I'm old enough to give consent." Mela explained.
"So do you need a place to stay?" Nick said and added, "It's already a given that you can stay with Greg and I."
"Oh, yeah I do need a place to stay." Mela said, grinning.
"So what school do you go to?" Sara asked.
"Randolph Boarding School for Girls and Boys." Mela said and added, "Speaking of which, can I use your loo to change clothes?"
"Oh sure. I'll show you." Sara said, taking Mela out of the room.
"G, she's a real sweetheart." Nick said, smiling at Greg.
"Yeah, I was kind of afraid she was going to turn into a replica of my mother."
"How so?" Grissom asked.
"Because my mother married some rich snob, and has turned into one herself." Greg said and added, "Remember a few years back when a woman came by to see me, and she was wearing all of this jewelry?"
"Yeah it was after the lab exploded." Catherine said.
"That was her."
"You look nothing alike." Grissom said.
"I know. I got all the looks from my father. Mela got both sides of the gene pool. She got the grey eyes from my mom, and the hair. The complexion she got from our father." Greg explained.
"She's extremely beautiful." Sara said coming back in.
"I know, she's turned out to be a great girl." Greg said and added, "She wants to be an author. She's been writing so many stories anyways, and they are all great."
The team smiled at Greg as Mela walked back in. She was now wearing a green shirt that said, "St. Patrick's Day is for the Irish. If you don't have Irish blood in you, then FUCK OFF, it's our holiday." her pants were tight blue jeans, that had people's handwriting over it. The most noticeable was one that said, "Mela, remember all of us small people while you visit your bro. Write me during the summer. Love, Aki". She was wearing combat boots, and to finish it off she was wearing a leather jacket.
"Who's Aki?" Greg said, mispronouncing the name.
"It's Ak-e" Mela pronounced and added, "His real name is Akishiro, he's Japanese, he's my best friend."
"Really that's cool. Is he nice?" Greg asked.
"He's extremely sweet. Anyways, is there somewhere I could sleep? I got jet lag." Mela asked.
"Oh. Um.." Greg said as Grissom interrupted.
"Actually Nick, Greg and you can go to their apartment. There's nothing to do here."
"Thanks Griss." Nick said, grinning at his boss.
"Yeah thanks Grissom." Greg said.
"Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. You'll make it up to me. Now get outta here."
"It was nice to meet all of you."
"It was nice to meet you too."
"How long are you going to be here?" Catherine asked.
"Two weeks." Mela answered.
"Would you like to meet my daughter?"
"I'd love that." Mela grinned following Greg and Nick out of the door.
***
Mela followed Nick and Greg into the apartment. They both had grabbed one of her bags. She was utterly amazed at how Vegas looked. It was weird in a sense that so many people in America would come here to gamble. Whatever happened to the one in Mississippi?
"Alright, Mela, since you just came here and we have no food I'm going to go get some." Greg explained and added, "Nick is going to stay here so you're not alone."
"Okay brother." Mela said smiling as Greg left.
"Soo Mela...since you're related to Greg.." Nick started.
Mela laughed at him.
"You want to know what he was like as a kid?" She finished.
"Yeah. I mean he is my boyfriend. He knows about my childhood and I don't know about his."
"Well, Greg was four he got REALLY attached to our father. Like he worshipped him, because he was a uber cool lawyer." Mela said.
"I didn't know that."
"You only know about our step-father. The asshole." Mela said as Nick laughed.
"Anyways, Greg as a kid was very popular among the girls. We were in England, and it was sort of odd to see a boy Greg's age with wire on his teeth..you know braces. He got it all done to his teeth. As did I, as you can see. We didn't like our jacked up teeth so we changed them. He stopped wetting the bed at seven years old." Mela said as Nick laughed.
"It really didn't matter that he was a geek, more so a genius at school. He had some awesome friends. He was extremely cute during his school days. Lots of girls were over him, it didn't matter that he was in the chess club either. He started a few clubs at our school for things like Women's History Month for March. Because I am the BIGGEST Feminist you will ever meet. He also had a crush on a jock and gave him a handjob. That was hilarious because the jock was straighter than a limp noodle." Mela said, giggling.
"Are you serious?!" Nick said, shocked at the last sentence.
"Very serious. But before he started High School in Eighth Grade, mum and dad got divorced. Greg wanted to go with dad, but didn't want to leave me with mum. He left her because she was always getting drunk. After the divorce she saw random men, we thought we were going to wake up and she would be gone. But it continued until I was old enough to take care of myself. That's when Greg went to California to go to school." Mela said sadly, "Then mum kept on seeing that damn guy that she married. Turning her into an uber bitch, and sending me off to Randolph. I'm not complaining because I met Akishiro and he's been a big help. He's also going to be coming because he wants to hang out with me outside of school. He should be here in a few hours."
"What else?"
"Well at the new school Greg, apparently wasn't all that cool. He was made fun of, and got beat up a bunch. That's when he decided to come out of the closet. I already knew he was a bisexual. My mother tried her best to accept it, but my step-father couldn't..no he wouldn't accept it. Called Greg an abomination of the Bible. I told him to shut up or I'd snuff him." At Nick's confused look she grinned sheepishly, "Snuff means kill. Well he got pissed and kicked me out of the house. I went down the street to Mrs. Baker's. She loves Greg and I like we were her own kids. She treated us better than mum anyways. Well Greg made a few friends in the High School. In college he didn't really make friends, he just took the courses and then graduated. Then we had that damn wedding. Greg punched the groom, it was hilarious. Mother got so pissed off at him. All I could do was l laugh. I was the flower girl AND the Maid of Honour. Greg wasn't even IN the wedding, which we all thought was bullshit. But Bryan said that no poof would ever be in his wedding. Well that got all of my father's side up and growling. My father was invited because he and mother still remained friends. My father was ready to rip his head off. Well that's when Greg punched the hell out of him. Knocked him flat on his arse. It was hilarious. That's when he told everyone about you, Nick. I was so happy for him. You've made a HUGE difference on his life. I hope you know that. He really does love you" Mela said, as Greg came back in with some groceries, and a boy came in with him.
"What're you guys talking about?" Greg asked as Mela squealed.
"Akishiro Gensai, when the hell did you get here?" Mela said, hugging the boy.
"Wait, the guy that wrote on your pants? Is here? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?"
"Where are you staying?"
"My parents came with me, we're staying at some ritzy hotel." Akishiro said, bowing to Greg, "Gomen, Greg for busting in."
"Whomen?" Greg asked, utterly confused.
"Gomen. Short for Gomen Nasai, it means he's sorry." Mela said, and added, "Nick and I were talking about how our life has been. I even mentioned the jock."
"You.did..WHAT." Greg said, eyes wide.
"Mentioned the jock." Mela said, as Greg growled.
"You have five seconds to start running."
"Akishiro save me." Mela said, dodging behind her friend.
The phone started ringing madly.
"I'LL GET IT!" Mela said, lunging for the phone.
"Dominos, we don't deliver. OH Hi, you must be Lindsey." Mela said, smiling.
"Uh huh. Yeah I can totally do that. Yeah. Okay, talk to you later. Bye." Mela finished, grinning at Greg.
"I'm going to the Mall tomorrow with Lindsey and a few of her friends." Mela said, adding to Akishiro, "You're coming too."
Greg took up a stance that said 'Oh really'. Nick snickered lightly, before the phone rang again.
Greg picked up the phone.
"Sanders." He said, groaning a few minutes later, "Okay see you in a few."
"What's wrong?" Nick asked.
"I have to go help Mia in DNA. She is so backlogged it's reaching HODGES." Greg said, shuddering, "And since I'm a former lab rat, I need to go help. I know the feeling of backlog and it is not fun. Especially for one person alone."
"When will you be home?" Mela asked, frowning.
"I don't know. Whenever the backlog is done." Greg said, putting his jacket on.
"Get home soon G." Nick said, as he kissed Greg lightly.
"I'll try. And you, no more stories of the past. Especially about the you know what, concerning you know who." Greg said, glaring at Mela.
"Moi. Tell him about you know what, concerning you know who. NEVER." Mela said, as Greg left.
"What does he not want me to know?"
"That when he and Sara were in a decontamination shower, Sara saw EVERY inch of Greg's body. He saw nadda." Mela said, as the two men started laughing.
"Anyways, anyone up for a game of LIFE?" Mela asked.
"I'm the green car!" Nick said, grinning as Akishiro said he was the red car.
"I guess I'm going to be blue then." Mela said, smirking.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Greg walked into the DNA lab, his mouth dropping open.
"D-D-Damn." Greg stuttered out.
"Yeah isn't it bad." Mia said, picking up a stack of papers to make a clear space for their coffees.
"My backlog was never THIS bad." Greg said, taking in all the papers.
"You were a little late." Mia said, as Greg smiled.
"Well since I've reverted back to a lab rat tonight, I thought I'd do something special." Greg said, as Mia rose an eyebrow.
"What'd you do?" Mia said.
"Watch." Greg said, as he started working on the backlog.
Twenty minutes later, Ecklie came around the corner. His face red with anger. Mia saw Catherine, Warrick, and Sara laughing. Grissom was trying to keep a straight face, but wasn't fairing well.
Ecklie came into the DNA lab, glaring at Greg.
"SANDERS! My office...NOW." Ecklie said, steaming.
Greg put on his best innocent face, and followed Ecklie towards Grissom and the team.
"Gil, if you would please follow me." Ecklie said, walking towards his office. Warrick, Catherine, and Sara all patting his back as he walked by, Grissom following him.
"Sanders, what's the meaning of this?"
"Well sir, you asked me in here.." Greg said, playing dumb.
"I know I did. Do you know who put a sign on my back?" Ecklie asked.
"Sir, I just got here." Greg said innocently.
"Let me refresh your memory." Ecklie said, laying down a sign.
I don't want to fuck you like an animal.
The sign was hilarious. It had a stick figure of Ecklie with a big circle and line on it. Greg tried not to laugh.
"I think you did this. I know this is some rock band or some nonsense."
"Well are Greg's fingerprints on it?" Grissom asked.
"N-No." Ecklie stated, "Which means he had gloves on."
"But see, Greg went straight to the DNA lab to help Mia, so he couldn't of done it. Ask someone else Conrad." Grissom said.
"Gil, I know he did it. Sanders, who sang these lyrics?"
"I think it's supposed to say, 'I wanna fuck you like an animal', it's Closer from Nine Inch Nails. Good song, bad message." Greg said.
"See."
"Just because he knows the song it's from, doesn't mean he did it. You know that's assumption Conrad." Grissom said, as Ecklie grunted.
"Fine then you two get back to work." Ecklie said.
Greg and Grissom walked out calmly shutting the door.
They both walked down the hallway before Grissom talked.
"You did it didn't you Greg?" Grissom asked, grinning at the ex-lab tech.
"Oh hell yeah." Greg said, as they both started laughing.***
Greg entered the apartment at 10:30, to see Nick, Mela, and Akishiro playing Life.
"I'm home." Greg said, shutting the door.
"Hey G!" Nick said, grinning widely.
"Hey Greg." Mela said, getting up to hug her brother.
Greg hugged her tightly.
"Did you tell anymore tales?"
"I'll never tell." Mela said, smirking.
Greg started to say something when he heard someone knock on the door.
Greg reopened the door to find a man and woman, grinning at him.
"Erm..Who are you?" Greg asked.
"We're looking for Mela Thyme. She's with our son, Akishiro." Mr. Gensai said.
"OH. Hi Mr. and Mrs. Gensai." Mela said, as she and Akishiro appeared.
"Hello Mela dear." Mrs. Gensai said, hugging Mela.
"Ja Ne. It was nice meeting you Nick and Greg."
"What's a Ja Ne?" Greg asked.
"Good Bye. Remember Aki, the mall tomorrow at one." Mela said adding, "Just come over here and we'll go together."
"It was nice meeting you Akishiro." Nick said, closing the door.
"Shouldn't we talk to his parents? I'm supposed to be the responsible adult." Greg said as Nick and Mela started laughing.
"Oh shut it Greg. He's been my best friend for years now. Mum met his parents, they're cool." Mela said, as her laughter died down.
"I can still worry." Greg said indignantly.
"Mother hen."
"Cluck bloody cluck." Greg said, as Nick shook his head.
"Anyways, Mela you should go to sleep. It's late and you're going somewhere tomorrow." Nick said.
"Okay Nick." Mela said going to the guest room.
"You come with me." Nick said, picking Greg up.
"Nick what're you doing!?" Greg squeaked.
"We're sleeping too." Nick said, walking into the bedroom, shutting the door. He lowered his arms a bit to lock the door.
Nick laid Greg down on the bed, lightly kissing him.
Greg smiled into the kiss, opening his mouth letting Nick's tongue enter. Nick probed at Greg's mouth, grounding into him making Greg moan into his mouth. Nick started on Greg's pants, but both groaned when they heard a scream.
"GREG!" Mela yelled.
"YEAH." Greg yelled back, cursing his sister.
"There's a spider in my room!"
"Oh that's just Bob, he's Grissom's. He's in a cage Mela." Greg said.
"WHY IS HE HERE! THAT IS WRONG AND UNHEALTHY." Mela yelled.
"So is not getting laid." Greg mumbled, watching Nick laugh before answering, "WE'RE BABYSITTING."
"That's so stupid, babysitting a spider. I'm putting it in the living room." Mela yelled.
"Okay then go to bed." Greg said.
"Alright. Nite." Mela said.
"Sorry." Greg said.
"It's fine, let's just get some sleep."
Greg nodded changing into some pajamas, before rejoining Nick in bed.
Nick kissed Greg's neck, spooning Greg against his body.
"I love you G."
"I love you too Nicky."
Greg woke up, smelling Nick's cologne.
At some point in the night, he had turned into Nick's chest. Greg smiled to himself, snuggling into his lover's chest.
"Greggo, you up?" Nick asked.
"Yeah. This is really nice." Greg commented as Nick pulled him up.
"Yes it is." Nick said, hugging him.
"But." Greg said, grinning at Nick.
"We have to go to work, and drop Mela and Akishiro off at the Mall." Nick said, as Greg sighed, nodding.
"Then let's go." Greg said, getting out an outfit.
"Shower together?" Nick asked.
"We'll never get out on time." Greg said, as Nick nodded.
"You're right."
"Don't you just hate it when I'm right." Greg said as Nick laughed.
"Just get in the shower. I took one last night." Nick said, kissing Greg's nose.
"Okay." Greg said, walking into the bathroom.
After he was done, he walked out.
"D-D-D-Damn Greg, you look good." Mela commented on her brother's clothing.
"Now I know where you get your style Mel." Akishiro said.
Greg was wearing a pair of tight black pants, a Marilyn Manson shirt, and a pair of black combat boots.
"Thanks." Greg said, as Nick walked in the room with two bowls of soup.
"Greg you look hot." Nick said, walking over to him as soon as he gave Akishiro and Mela the soup.
Greg grinned, looking Nick up and down.
"So do you." Greg said, as Nick kissed him lightly.
"Oh don't mind us." Akishiro said, as Mela scrunched her face up.
"EW. I DO NOT want to see my brother kissing. Trying to scar me for life. Besides we're going to be late." Mela said, as they stopped.
"Fine let's go." Greg said, as they all went outside.
"Hey Griss." Nick, Catherine, and Greg chorused walking into the break room.
"Hey. Okay Cath you're with me on the DB in the desert. Sara and Warrick you're on the B&E off of Airport Road. Greg and Nick you have a DB at that new club...what was it called?" Grissom asked.
"Oh Souless." Greg commented.
"How did you.." Grissom started.
"We went there a few nights ago." Greg said, smiling at Grissom.
"Oh, okay. Well meet Brass there." Grissom said, as they all went their separate ways.
"Woot we get to go to the club all hot." Greg said, dancing a little.
"No dancing for us. Just do the job, babe." Nick said, as Greg's face scrunched up.
"Now that sounds wrong." Greg said as Nick laughed.
"Eat my face." Greg commented, "I drive."
"Okay." Nick said, as Greg bumped into Hodges.
"Oh sorry Hodges." Greg said as Hodges just grinned at him.
"It's okay Greg. Oh and thanks for last night." Hodges said.
"No problem. See ya later." Greg said.
"What was that?" Nick asked.
"Oh last night, I played a prank on Ecklie, and after I was done with backlog with Mia, I helped him. Like I said, us lab rats have to stick together. Even ex-rats."
"You...helped...Hodges? I thought you hated him."
"I don't hate him Nick. I just couldn't stand him for a while. But he's really a cool guy once you get to know him." Greg said, grinning as Jacqui and Archie passed him.
"Hey guys." Greg said.
"Nice prank Greggo." Archie said, as Jacqui laughed.
"Yeah that was a nice one. I can't believe you did Nine Inch Nails though." Jacqui said.
"Well I improvised." Greg said, as they all waved bye.
"What song?"
"Closer." Greg said, "I wrote, 'I don't want to fuck you like an animal' drew a stick figure of Ecklie with an X and all. Everyone knew it was me, Ecklie just couldn't prove it."
"I wish I could've seen it."
"Oh Grissom saved my ass."
"I would hope so. Your ass is a very nice one." Nick commented as Greg went bright red.
"Be glad I love you."
"I am very glad that you do.' Nick said, lightly kissing Greg.
"Let's get to the scene." Greg said, as Nick laughed.
***
Greg walked with Nick towards the mall.
"So where do you think they are?" Nick asked, holding Greg's hand.
"Knowing Lindsey I'd say...Hot Topic or Spencers." Greg said laughing.
"What's been up with her lately? She's become all gothic." Nick stated.
"The correct term for her isn't 'Goth' it's Gemo." Greg said, as Nick tilted his head.
"What the hell is a Gemo?" Nick asked.
"A Goth who's an emo kid." Greg said, walking into Hot topic.
The first thing they spotted was Lindsey's blonde hair, she was holding up a shirt with two men on the front holding guns, up to Mela's chest.
"Wait so what's the point of the movie again?" Mela asked.
"Boondock Saints is about two brothers who kill people who deserve to die."
"That's kind of wrong isn't it. I mean it's wrong to kill a human being." Mela said, tilting her head.
"That's like saying it's wrong to make fun of Ecklie. Look if someone has done something wrong that's unforgivable then they deserve to die."
"Linds, what would your mother say if she heard you say that?" Greg said, as Lindsey turned around.
"Uncle Greg. Uncle Nick...how long have you been standing there?" Lindsey asked, grinning uneasily.
"We got here when Mela asked what the point of Boondock Saints was." Nick answered.
"Oh. Well she actually likes the movie so, nah." Lindsey said, sticking out her tongue.
"Oh yeah, Greg can Lindsey spend the night?" Mela asked, picking up a Slytherin armband.
"Yeah. Only if it's okay with her mom though." Greg said.
"Oh she already said it was okay, I called her before you got here."
"Even though we hadn't given you an answer?" Nick said, staring at Lindsey incredulously.
"Yeah, I already have my clothes for tomorrow so nah." Lindsey said, as Akishiro whispered something to Mela.
"Aki shut up." Mela said, blushing scarlet.
"What?" Greg asked.
"Nothing." The two said in unison.
"Alright. So are you two ready to go? Akishiro do we need to give you a ride home?"
"No, my parents are already here. Oh and Greg its Ack-e-she-ro, not Ak-i-sh-i-ro." Akishiro said, pronouncing his name.
"What does your name come from?" Nick asked.
"It's Japanese." Akishiro said, hugging Mela good-bye.
"It was nice meeting you Lindsey."
"You too Akishiro." Lindsey said, waving at him.
"I'll talk to you later Mela." Akishiro said leaving.
"OH MY GOD. Is he your boyfriend?" Lindsey asked Mela immediately.
"Erm...kinda." Mela said, feeling uncomfortable.
"Because you two are uber cute together."
"Uber cute?" Nick mouthed to Greg, who snickered.
"Anyways, are you two going out tonight?" Lindsey asked the two adults.
"Um, well we hadn't really thought about it." Greg said.
"Well you should, I mean do you really want to be around two girls all night. I mean we're going to stay up all night, and talk about boys and do our makeup."
Nick cringed, remembering when he was a rag doll at one of his sisters' parties.
"Erm well yeah okay." Nick said, as Greg grinned at him.
Greg and Nick led them out of the mall to the car, both girls giggling about one thing or another.
By the time they'd reached the apartment, they were tired of the girls talking of boys.
"Right so here you go, we have junk food galore already so you girls have fun." Greg said, going to get ready for his and Nick's date.
"I'll cook them something to eat." Nick said as Greg nodded.
Greg went into the bedroom, pulling out some faded blue jeans. Then proceeded with pulling out a black shirt that said, 'Do me I'm Norwegian'. He would wear his black high-tops Chuck Taylors. He put all of the things into the bathroom, before hopping into the shower, cleaning off the grime of the crime scene.
When he got out, Nick was grinning at his outfit.
"I'm going to go take my shower okay babe." Nick said, as Greg nodded.
"I'm going to fix my hair." Greg said, lightly kissing Nick.
"Okay." Nick said.
Twenty minutes later, Nick came out with a pair of tight blue jeans on, a white shirt, and a pair of boots. Seeing Greg still spiking his hair, he went behind him hugging Greg around the waist. Greg jumped a little, then sighed leaning against Nick.
"This is nice; I could stay like this forever." Greg said, putting his head on Nick's shoulder.
"I could too, but we need to go out before the girls start in on boys." Nick said, as Greg laughed.
"We could always scare them and agree with some of their choices." Greg proposed.
"And have the Catherine kill us, no thank you." Nick said, as Greg laughed again.
"I love you Nick." Greg said quietly.
"I love you too Greg." Nick said, as Greg sighed again.
"Oi you two better get a move on." Mela's voice sounded from the other room.
"Okay." Nick said, as Greg straightened up.
"Let's go." Nick said, grabbing Greg's hand leading him out of the bedroom.
Upon reaching the living room they got a few catcalls.
"D-D-Damn you two look spiffed out." Lindsey said.
"Greg I like your hair...and your shirt. Where'd you get that?" Mela said, as Lindsey laughed.
"He got it from Warrick." Lindsey said adding, "He thought you had burned it."
"Nope I love this shirt." Greg said, sticking his tongue out.
"Well we really must be going. Be good." Nick said.
"Aren't I always?"
"Well I know Mela is, but I know you aren't." Greg said, as Lindsey looked mock-offended.
"IT WAS ONE TIME!" Lindsey said loudly.
"Yeah and that one time costed us a TV." Nick said, as Mela's eyes widened.
"Mel, I'll tell you about it later." Greg said, grabbing the car keys.
"Okay, have fun. Stay safe, and drive carefully." Mela said, watching the two adults leave.
"Let the fun begin." Lindsey said, smirking at Mela.
"What fun?"
"Girl fun. Unsupervised fun." Lindsey said, turning up the radio.
"What the bloody hell is that?" Mela said, truly not getting it.
"We can do whatever we want, no adults. Wow did your mom never let you do anything like this at home?"
"My mom never paid attention to me and Greg at all. So I had friends over and they wouldn't even care. I'd go missing for a week and they wouldn't notice." Mela said, as Lindsey frowned.
"Wow...that really sucks. My mom loves me to much to let anything bad happen to me. She's way overprotective." Lindsey said.
"Well sit down, because I'm going to tell you about my life at home." Mela said, as Lindsey did just that and sat down.
"I spend a whole year at a boarding school for girls and boys, only seeing my mother during holidays. When I'm there during the summer, she doesn't notice that I'm there. She feeds me sure, but when I leave London and go to Tokyo using her credit card, she notices the money being taken out of her account. She notices I'm gone, but she doesn't care, she knows I'll come back. They give me money to get rid of me." Mela said, as Lindsey's frown deepened.
"Then this break, my mother PROMISED me she would spend time with me. Guess what; as soon as I get off the plane she tells me I get to come to Vegas to see Greg. At first I was PEEVED; she had promised she would spend time with me. But then she ships me off here, it's like I'm a package to be shipped off everywhere and everywhere. Then I thought, well I haven't seen my brother in about oh 5 years, so yeah I would love to spend time with him." Mela continued.
"Then when I thought it was going to be okay when I got done with break, Bryan breaks the news that I have to stay with Papa Olaf or Greg during the summer. It's like, 'Sorry, but we want to have another trip in summer, but we can't take you.' I was upset about that, PLUS I'm breaking into my brother's life. I mean he has a boyfriend for God sakes and he can't do ANYTHING with him If I'm around. So be glad you have a mother who cares about you, I would give anything for that. Cause that's how mine and Greg's life has been since I can remember." Mela finished as Lindsey hugged her.
"Wow...that's really harsh. But you know Greg doesn't mind you being here."
"Well I know that, but it bothers me that I'm cutting into his 'love' time with Nick. You know how frustrated they're both going to get." Mela said.
"Who are you going to spend the summer with?"
"Probably Papa Olaf, I'm going to be a burden if I come back here." Mela said, as Lindsey shook her head.
"Just ask Greg. He will tell you the truth; he always tells everyone the truth." Lindsey said, as Mela nodded.
"Right enough of that, what's on the telly?" Mela asked, as Lindsey blinked.
"The what?"
"The telly...Erm...TV?" Mela said, as Lindsey nodded.
"Oh...Let's see...BOONDOCK SAINTS." Lindsey said, turning it to the channel. Mela turned off the radio, just in time to see the beginning.***
Greg smiled at Nick, who was opening the door to a diner for him.
"So G, how come you never told me about your sister?"
"There was nothing to tell you about." Greg said, frowning.
"But you know all of my siblings." Nick said, sounding hurt.
"Well I didn't want you to meet mine." Greg said.
"Are there any more?" Nick asked.
"No. It's just Mela."
"G, seriously. Why didn't I get to know? I was as shocked as Grissom was, and Grissom knows everything." Nick asked.
"I didn't tell anyone because that would mean having to go into my personal life. When I was her age I went to Randolph too. Our parents wanted us to be educated by the best. My family is well known for the snobs that come out of that academy."
"But you aren't a snob." Nick said, matter-of-factly.
"No, that's because I was a Renegade." Greg said.
"A Renegade?"
"Yeah, Jason, Nathan, Kinara, and myself. We were known as the Renegades. At Randolph they teach you the subjects, yes. But they also teach you table manners, and how to speak correctly. Well we went against it all, and we didn't do anything except for the school work. We pulled awesome pranks, and we never got caught."
"I've heard about Kinara, Nathan, and Jason...but I didn't know you were a troublemaker." Nick said, with interest.
"That's because I'd have to explain why I was a troublemaker." Greg said.
"So you went to a boarding school, so what."
"It isn't just a boarding school Nick. It's a Prep School. The kind you send your kids to so they go to really good colleges. Because it looks 'good on a college application'." Greg said, sighing.
"Well your sister doesn't seem to mind it." Nick said.
"Now see that's bullshit." Greg said, adding, "She's the second generation of Renegades. Akishiro, Nayarat, Spot, and herself. Mela almost got expelled her first year for restarting the Renegades. It's a big name to live up to. The Renegades are and were notorious for going against the rules."
"How'd they find out?"
"Randall Stevens." Greg said, as he ordered his food.
Nick ordered his as well, looking at Greg.
"Greg, I want to know about your childhood. You know all about mine." Nick said, adding, "Don't you think it's only fair."
Greg nodded, and then smiled.
"How about this, we ask for a vacation when Mela leaves to go home for the rest of vacation. We'll go with her and you can see the house that I grew up in." Greg said, as Nick frowned.
"They still live in the same house...I thought your mom remarried."
"She did, but our house was bigger than his."
"What is it a castle?"
"Mansion. My mother loves the rich life. She's also a gold digger; she married the richest man in Europe for his money. He married her for the publicity." Greg said, as their food came.
"Greg, you shouldn't talk about your mom that way." Nick said.
"Well it's the truth. You can ask Mela too. The only reason she married my father was because he had a shitload of money." Greg said, as they began eating.
The meal was silent. They just stole looks from eachother, like you would do on a first date.
When they were done they rode home, in silence.
"Greg, I would like to take that vacation to your house though...see where you grew up." Nick said, as they reached their apartment.
"Alright, I'll ask Grissom about it tomorrow.... or Cath." Greg said, as they opened the door.
"Mela, Lindsey we're home." Greg said, seeing them asleep on the couch.
"Guess they were tired." Nick said, as Greg nodded.
Greg's nose scrunched up, and Nick smiled at him.
"I'm going to call my mother about our visit." Greg said, going into the kitchen.
Nick walked over to Lindsey and Mela, gently shaking them both awake.
"Mm Nick?" Lindsey asked, through half-opened eyes.
"Yep, you and Mela need to go to sleep in your rooms. You'll hurt your back if you sleep on this old thing." Nick said, as Lindsey nodded.
"We're not tired, are we Mela." She asked the blonde girl.
Mela shook her head, sitting up.
"Uh huh. Well do me a favor, and if you get tired, go to sleep on a bed." Nick said, as Lindsey agreed.
"Where's my brother?" Mela asked, as Nick pointed to the kitchen.
Mela walked in, hiding in the shadows, so she could hear bits of the conversation.
"Hey Mom...yes I know you're on vacation...Nick is fine....so is Mela...she's making friends." Greg said, into the phone, "Actually I was wondering if Nick and I could visit for a few days, when Mela goes back home."
There was a moment of silence, where Mela stepped out of the shadows, scaring Greg to death.
"Thanks Mom...I know he doesn't like me...he'll get over it. Alright see you then. I love you too mom...late." Greg said, hanging up.
"You know I hate it when you do that....how do you do that?"
"I know you hate it, and because I'm an evil person. Darkness loves me." Mela said, jokingly.
"Whatever Ms. Thyme." Greg said, as Mela gave him a worried, yet confused look.
"Why do you want to go back to that hell hole?" Mela asked, looking confused, she had dropped the worried.
"Because Nick wants to know more about my childhood, since I know all about his. Besides, you're going to help me with telling my childhood adventures."
Mela snorted lightly, hugging her brother.
"I really have missed you Greg." Mela said, adding, "I just never understood why you never called me...or tried to visit."
"Because I didn't want to bother you Mela. Besides I was busy. After the marriage was the explosion, then I was in the hospital. After all of that, I was training to become a CSI." Greg explained as Mela nodded into his chest.
"It still sucks."
"I know it does." Greg said, adding, "Well we're here for three more days."
"What? No I'm here for two weeks. Wow Greg, short term memory loss." Mela said, as Greg shook his head.
"No we're going to the mansion for the remainder of your vacation. And during that time, I'm going to ask Mom if you can stay here during Summer Break." Greg said, as Mela grinned widely.
"She'll probally say yes." Mela said, as Greg nodded his head.
"Come on, you have a guest." Greg said, as Mela nodded.
"You two okay?" Nick asked, as Lindsey gave a look to Mela.
"Yep, we're fine. And hopefully leaving in three days if Grissom says it's okay." Greg said, as Nick nodded his head.
"Where are you going?"
"We're going to London."
"ENGLAND?!" Lindsey said, very loudly.
"No Michigan." Greg said, as Lindsey gave him a soft glare.
"Oh shut it." Lindsey said.
"Yes England, we're going to visit my family."
"You and Nick? What about Mela?" Lindsey asked.
"Nick and Mela are coming." Greg said, as Lindsey pouted.
"But I just met Mela." Lindsey said.
"Well swap numbers, emails, and mailing addresses." Greg said, as Lindsey nodded.
"Okay Greg." Lindsey said, as Greg looked at the clock, giving a low whistle.
"Now it's time for all little 'gemos' to be in bed." Greg said, as Lindsey glared at him.
"You were being sarcastic."
"Moi. You must have me confused with my evil twin." Greg said.
"You don't have a twin." Lindsey said, confused.
"Oh that's right, he's dead." Greg said, as Lindsey snorted.
Mela gave them both a look that clearly said, "Freaks!"
Nick shook his head, and steered Greg out of the room. The girls followed them, going into the guest room.
"I hate work." Greg said, sticking his tongue out.
"I do too...WAIT! What are we going to do about Mela?" Nick said, as Greg shrugged.
"Let her leave with Lindsey to hang out. Sleep Mr. Pornstache." Greg said, as Nick glared.
"Oh now you're going to bring that up."
"I already did." Greg said, as Nick glared once more.
"Hey Greg, do you remember what song you were listening to when you saw me with the 'pornstache'?" Nick said, smirking.
"No." Greg said, as Nick grinned.
"I Saw your Mommy, by Suicidal Tendencies." Nick said, as Greg started laughing.
"Oh yeah, now I remember. Because then I screamed, and ran out of the room."
"That song was some seriously twisted shit, you need a better way to spend you time outside of work." Nick said, as Greg smiled.
"I'll try." Greg said, as they both fell asleep.
*~*~*~*~*~*~
When Nick awoke the next morning, he heard a slow beat and then the words.
I saw your mommy and your mommy's dead.
I saw you mommy and your mommy's DEAD!
Nick shot straight out of bed, and glared at the door. He walked through it, and saw Greg playing a game of Monopoly with Lindsey and Mela.
"Greg they shouldn't be listening to this song."
Greg shook his head, and went to the radio, and changed the CD. The next song that came out had a medium hard beat.
Nick automatically recognized the song as a song by White Zombie.
More human than human
More human than human
Nick rolled his eyes at his metalheaded lover. As Greg started banging his head lightly.
"Not this song either." Nick said, as Greg glared, getting up one last time. He smirked at Nick, before picking a CD.
"G, why are you giving me that look?" Nick asked, as Greg put the CD in.
Greg let the CD run, automatically tapping his foot to the beat of Capricorn and then The Kill. Before getting to the song he wanted.
An announcer type voice came on, before Nick's eyes widened.
"Greg!" Nick said, as Greg laughed hysterically.
"What?"
You and me baby ain't nothin but mammals, so lets do it like they do on the Discovery Channel
You and me baby ain't nothin but mammals, so lets do it like they do on the Discovery Channel
Mela and Lindsey giggled loudly, as Greg started singing along to it, looking directly at Nick, who blushed scarlet.
"Oh shut up." Nick said, as the song said something about doing it doggie style.
"Oh Nicky, your just jealous." Greg said, sitting down.
Nick shook his head, and sat down to watch them play.***
Greg stuck his tongue out at Grissom, who snorted at the other man.
"Greg, why are you sticking your tongue out at me?" Grissom asked.
"I twiying two asck you a question." Greg said, with his tongue still out.
"Erm..English please."
"I'm trying to ask you a question." Greg said, smiling at the older man.
"And that would be?"
"If Nick and I can go on a vacation." Greg said, as Grissom snorted.
"I'm surprised you didn't ask Catherine." Grissom said, sitting down in his chair.
"Yeah well that'd be wrong. You're the head honcho, not her." Greg said, as Grissom started chuckling.
"Sure you two can go. How long are you taking off?"
"A week and three days."
"Where are you going?" Grissom asked, raising a brow.
"London."
"ENGLAND?!" Grissom said, loud enough to wake the dead.
"Why does everyone react like that."
"Because usually when people say vacation they mean...a beach or something." Grissom said, looking at Greg.
"Well Nick wants to know more about my childhood, so I'm taking him to my house."
"Wait...WAIT...You lived in London?" Grissom asked.
"Until I was a Senior." Greg said, as Grissom shook his head.
"I'm going to add that right under stamp collecting." Grissom muttered, as Greg lifted a brow.
"Add what under stamp collecting? And for who?" Greg asked, his hair complexity showing.
"That you lived in England until you were...what...17..18?" Grissom said, as Greg nodded.
"So can we still go?"
"Yeah, just go now before I regret it." Grissom said, as Greg grinned.
"Thanks Griss." Greg said, walking out of the room.
He bumped into Hodges while walking out however, both falling on their butts.
"Oh sorry Hodges." Greg said, as Hodges just smiled.
"It's fine. It was just as much my fault as yours." Hodges said, as Greg helped pick up the papers that flew.
"Then it was both of our faults." Greg said, standing up and offering a hand to help the lab technician up.
Hodges smiled and took the offered hand, standing up himself.
"Well I've got to go. I got to tell Nick that we got the vacation time." Greg said, waving bye to him.
Hodges waved back and continued on his way.
Grissom just stood there shocked.
'Is the world ending and I didn't know about it?' Grissom thought to himself, standing up to go find Catherine.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Greg hopped into his car, grinning wickedly as he thought about going back to his home.
He turned on the car, hearing it turn over. He turned on the radio just as Nymphetamine Fix, by Cradle of Filth, came on. He turned it up and peeled out of the CSI parking lot.
Greg opened up the door to the apartment, seeing Nick jump over the couch.
"Um..last time I checked this wasn't boot camp." Greg said, smiling gently.
Nick put a finger to his mouth, and pointed to where Mela entered the room with a watergun.
"Hey Greg, where's Nick?" Mela asked, as Nick jumped out and shot her with the water.
Greg rolled his eyes at the two, going over to the radio, popping in a CD.
After he was done with that he went into the room Nick and him shared. He started packing when the beat of Here I Go Again, by White Snake came on. He bobbed his head to the music, and smiled faintly.
Nick came in a few minutes later, his shirt soaked.
"Your sister is a good shot." Nick said, stripping his shirt off.
Greg just stared at Nick's chest, blushing a faint scarlet when Nick noticed the staring.
"You okay G?" Nick asked, as Greg nodded his head.
"So we can go?" Nick asked, as Greg nodded again.
The next song that came on was Kickstart My Heart. Nick's nose scrunched up.
"I still can't believe you call this music." Nick said, looking disgusted.
"I love Eighties music." Greg said, as Nick shook his head.
"Well I like Country, but you don't hear me blaring it everywhere I go."
"No, I just have to listen to you sing it." Greg said, as Nick pouted.
Greg grinned and kissed Nick lightly, making the taller of the two smile.
"Well pack up your stuff Nick." Greg said, walking towards the living room.
He heard Mela talking with Lindsey, who had taken a shower during the 'Water War'.
"Okay Mela, here's a riddle-like joke. Okay so Nick and Greg are trying to get to the airport, but decide they want to have fun before they go. They realize after their done they only have twenty minutes before their flight leaves. Who gets to the airport first?" Lindsey asked.
"First off, I DID NOT want to imagine my brother having sex, and two Nick." Mela said, matter-of-factly.
"Why?"
"Because he screwed my brother so hard, he probally couldn't walk straight." Mela said, as the two laughed.
"Funny, but WRONG. Greg will get there first." Lindsey said, smirking.
"Why?" Mela asked, tilting her head.
"Because his shit's already packed." Lindsey said, as Mela's face scrunched up*.
"That's nasty Linds." Mela said, as Lindsey laughed.
"Yeah I know. But it was funny." Lindsey said, as Mela shook her head softly.
"Still nasty."
Greg's face scrunched up also, before walking into the living room.
"Mela, you need to go pack. We're leaving in the morning." Greg said, as Mela nodded.
She and Lindsey ran to her room, giggling the whole way.
Nick came out with his bags, looking tired.
"What's wrong Greggo?" Nick asked, looking at his lover's disgusted face.
"Today's youth.....America's going to hell." Greg said, as Nick laughed.
"That was random."
"Yes well, randomness is the basis of conversation.*" Greg said, as Nick nodded.
"True." Nick said, hugging Greg.
"I love you Nicky." Greg said, nuzzling the older man's neck.
"I love you to G." Nick said, kissing his cheek.
"Hey, if you two are doing that you should get a room." Mela said, toting her stuff out of her room.
Greg and Nick both blushed, letting go of eachother.
Lindsey walked out, and a few minutes later there was a knock at the door.
Greg opened it to see Catherine's smiling face.
"Hey Cath. Here to pick up Lindsey?" Greg asked, as the two hugged.
"Yep, now where's my girl?" Catherine asked, as Lindsey came over. She had her bag with her, she ran and hugged her mom.
"Hey mom." Lindsey said, as Catherine smiled.
"Hey Linds." Catherine said, as Mela came up.
"Hi Catherine!" Mela said, as Catherine smiled at the platinum blonde girl.
"Hello Mela." Catherine said, as Lindsey hugged Mela.
"See ya around Mela. It was nice meeting you. Call me!" Lindsey said, as she and her mother went to their car.
"Late." Mela said, shutting the door.
"So are we off to England?" Mela asked, as Nick and Greg shook their heads.
"Not yet. Tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. So go get some sleep." Greg said, pointing to the clock.
It read 9:30 p.m. Mela squeaked and ran to her room.
Greg smiled at Nick, pulling him to their room.
"Hey no hanky panky. You two need to sleep also." Mela said, smirking at her brother.
"We weren't going to do anything." Greg said, as Nick snorted.
"Yeah right." Nick said, as they both walked into the bedroom.
