It really was great to be home again, Greg thought with a contented sigh.

He closed his eyes, resting his head on Ryan's chest as the two of them lay in bed. They'd been back for a little over a week now, and life had settled back into its familiar routine.

He felt happy and relaxed, and he was sure that Ryan did, too. The two of them had needed their Parisian getaway, but home was where they were both happiest.

Work had been going well; they had both jumped back into their CSI duties with a vengeance, and Greg had been a little surprised at how much he enjoyed being back at work. He had missed being in the crime lab, even though some of the things he dealt with were terribly depressing.

Still, this was the job he'd been born to do, the job he loved and wouldn't trade for anything. And as a bonus, he could share that job with the man he loved.

That was one of the things that made being a CSI so rewarding, he told himself with a soft smile. Knowing that he could work with his boyfriend.

And knowing that he didn't have to hide their relationship any longer.

Russell seemed to know about them, and to be fine with it. And he knew that others in the crime lab had been aware of their relationship for quite a while now.

Nick and Sara gave the two of them glances now and then, but Greg didn't think there was any censure in them. In fact, he was sure that their friends approved.

He was just glad that no one had said anything, or treated the personal relationship he had with Ryan outside of work as something scandalous. It was just assumed that the two of them were together, and no one acted like it was some sort of big deal for them to be in love.

The only person who might have done that was Morgan, and even she had kept her mouth shut when she'd realized that nothing she could do would change things.

Nothing would ever change how he felt about Ryan, he told himself, a small smile curving his lips. He was in love, and that love would never die or fade away.

He'd known from that first glance that this was where he belonged, that Ryan Wolfe was his home. That this man could hold his heart in the palm of his hand, and that he could be trusted not to break that heart. He'd known that Ryan was the other half of his soul.

This man had felt like home from their first meeting, and Greg was sure that he always would. And he had no doubt that Ryan felt exactly the same way about him.

What was it about Ryan that had drawn him so inexorably to the other man on that very first meeting? Greg didn't know, and he really didn't care.

it was enough that Ryan felt the same way.

They had fallen in love, and nothing else really mattered. Why the attraction existed wasn't important, only that it did, and that it always would.

Greg couldn't imagine a life without Ryan now, or a time when embracing Ryan wouldn't feel like coming home, to the one place where he would always be safe and loved.

Maybe some people would say that he had jumped into this too quickly, and that he should have been more cautious. But for him, the gamble in love had paid off, Greg thought with a smile. He had found the man he loved, the man who owned his heart and was home to him.

He would never regret the choice that he'd made, never regret being with Ryan. No matter what happened in their future, he knew that he'd be with this man forever.

He snuggled closely against Ryan, sighing in contentment when his boyfriend's arms tightened around him and Ryan murmured his name in his sleep.

It was good to know that his love was dreaming about him.

Greg closed his eyes, the small smile still playing around his lips. Yes, he was home, the only home he ever wanted to be in. The safe haven of Ryan's arms.

He drifted off to sleep with that thought in his mind, still smiling, his own arms wrapped around his boyfriend and his dreams centering on the two of them, and their future together.
