Title: It is too a sport!
Author: Rpgirl
Pairing: Nick/Greg
Rating: PG-13
A/N: This is my first Greg/Nick story, I usually write Harry Potter stories so..I hope I did okay.
Summary: A series of games Greg and Nick play on their days off. Along with their friends Chris and Jason.***
Greg climbed up the wall, pointing the paintball gun carefully at Nick's back. If there was one thing Greg loved it was playing paintball tag with Nick. They were in a sort of laser tag area, except it was made for paintball.
Both men were very competitive, and very stealthy. As were their two friends, Jason and Chris.
Greg shot a paintball at Nick, and then hid.
"Greg, where are yooouu?" Nick said in a sing song voice, as he got hit, square in the back.
"Somewhere you're not Nicky." Greg's voice bounced off the walls.
"But G, you've hit me what...12 times and I've only hit you 6." Nick said pouting.
"Then find me, or sneak up on me." Greg said, coming around the corner, shooting at Nick, before getting hit with Nick's blue paint.
"Now see, that's not fair." Greg said running off, laughing his ass off.
Nick chased after him, only to lose him in the tunnel.
"Greg, where are you? Greggo?" Nick said going down the tunnel, as he was jumped from behind.
"Hello." Greg said, grinning like an idiot.
"So, do you just like scaring me, or is it the fact that you can catch me off guard?" Nick asked.
"All of the above." Greg said, leaning down and kissing Nick softly.
Then Greg got up and ran like a serial killer was after him. Nick groaned in disappointment.
"You know G, this game is VERY frustrating." Nick said.
"I know, but that's the fun of it."
"Do you even know where Jason and Chris are?" Nick asked.
"Nope." Greg shouted, going into another tunnel, waiting for someone to come by.
"Heya Greg." A voice said as the voice tackled Greg.
Greg let out a short scream, before realizing it was Jason.
"Greg, you okay?!" Nick called out, worried. He knew Greg would climb up things that weren't meant to be climbed just to win. See there's that competitiveness right there.
"Jason, you son of a bitch. You scared the hell out of me." Greg said, pushing his friend off, as Chris came up to them.
"Mwhaha now you are in our territory. You must be taken prisoner Greg." Chris said, as Jason laughed evilly.
"And you two are stupider than you look." Nick said, shooting the two men, before Greg ran behind Nick, sticking his tongue out at his two friends.
"Hey HEY, no hanky panky in a war zone." Jason said, as Greg blushed deeply.
"Yeah dude, we totally saw you two earlier. Kissing, tsk tsk Greg. Fraternizing with one of your enemies is one thing. But making out with one, is just plain bad." Chris said as Nick smirked.
"You're just jealous." Nick called to Chris.
"Hey, I can't help it if one of my enemies is hot." Greg said, shooting at Chris with the paintball gun.
"Yeah but you can help not trying to makeout when enemies are afoot. Is this how you are on the job?" Jason asked.
"No, see on the job, there are actual killers. You two aren't killers, you're just nice imitations." Nick said as Chris put a hand on his heart.
"Stokes, you wound us."
Nick looked at Greg who shrugged and they both shot Jason and Chris.
"Yep, we really did wound you." Greg said, grinning. Nick grabbed Greg's hand as they ran down one tunnel.
"Oh now it's team paintball tag. WE SHALL PREVAIL OVER YOU!" Jason yelled as Chris reloaded his gun.
Greg stopped when he heard Tainted Love start playing. He answered his phone, knowing it was Catherine.
"Sanders." Greg answered automatically. Nick stopped and pointed his gun in all directions, except up, and down.
Two minutes later he hung up.
"We've got to go to work." Greg said as Jason and Chris jumped down on them.
"Awww, you have to leave." Jason said pouting.
"Well not all of us can be bouncers and a bartender for bars. See we actually have important jobs." Nick said sarcastically, as he walked out of the dark room.
"Hey, we should do this again Greg." Chris suggested.
"Yeah we should. Anyways, we'll do something like.I dunno..we'll do something the next time I'm off." Greg said waving, as he followed Nick.
"Oh, and before I forget. Nick and I totally prevailed over you." Greg said, shooting Chris one last time, before running out of the building.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Nick and Greg walked into the crime lab, covered in red, white, black and blue paint.
By their sides were the paintball guns. They bought them about two months ago, because the PP For All didn't lend theirs out. They couldn't leave them in the car, someone could steal them. It was Vegas after all.
They walked down the hall, towards the break room, where Sara, Warrick, Catherine, Grissom and Brass were all talking.
When they walked in, everyone all stopped talking. The girls eyes widened as the men's jaws dropped, taking in the appearance of the two men.
The awkward silence becoming longer than any of them had anticipated.
"So, what do we have Griss?" Nick asked, ignoring the stares, but finally breaking the silence.
"What the HELL happened to you two?" Catherine asked.
"Erm. Since it was our day off we decided to go play a sport, with Jason and Chris." Nick said smiling at her innocently.
"Paintball is not a sport." Sara said matter-of-factly.
"If you have to run, at any point in the game, then it is classified as a sport." Greg said, shouldering his gun.
"Paintball tag is actually kinda fun." Nick said thoughtfully.
"Erm..well you have a dead body on the strip." Grissom said slowly.
"You might want to shower first." Warrick suggested.
"Yeah I can wait." Brass added.
Nick smirked at Greg as he walked out, bumping into him. Greg fell very ungracefully to the floor.
"STOKES! YOU ARE GOING DOWN!" Greg shrieked, shooting at him with the paintball gun.
"GREG!" Grissom yelled at the man who ran after Nick, shooting off his gun like a maniac.
"NICK! GREG! STOP!" Catherine said as Warrick and Brass ran after the two men.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"You'll never take me alive Greggo!" Nick said pointing the gun behind him and shooting Greg.
Greg made a battle cry of, "GUNG HO!", and shot at Nick. Nick dodged it, as the paint hit Ecklie.
"What the.." Ecklie said as the two men, flew by him. He had a glob of black on his white shirt. Two minutes later Warrick and Brass followed.
"Greg, Nick, stop it. You're going to hit the windows!" Warrick yelled.
"Or worse, you'll break something!" Brass shouted. He was WAY to old for this.
Up ahead, Nick turned into the locker room, and into the shower area. Where he leaned up against the wall, waiting for Greg.
Greg walked into the locker room, but immediately slid up against the wall, shifting without making a noise. He stopped a few inches from the shower area. Taking small breaths as Warrick and Brass stopped outside the room. Greg held up a finger to shush them, as he took one last breath, going around the corner and tackling Nick.
"I.caught.you." Greg said slowly, as he pointed his paintball gun down, and shot Nick one last time.
"What's the reward again?" Nick asked, smirking at Greg.
"You have to do whatever I want to for the night." Greg said, as he kissed Nick again lightly.
"First the case. Then you two can do whatever." Warrick said, smiling at his two friends, when he walked over.
"Ugh, so much for our fun off day." Nick said, frowning slightly.
"Yep, so you two leave, and Nick and I will shower." Greg said smiling at Warrick and Brass.
"I'd be happy to." Brass said going out of the room.
"See you two later." Warrick said leaving also.
"See I told you we'd have fun today." Greg said.
"Yeah, but now I have paint in my hair, on the outside of my ear, AND on my clothes." Nick complained.
"So do I. It's called, we can wash it off." Greg said, rolling his eyes, stripping his clothes.
"Yeah, but then we have a case. So we'll have to take another one." Nick said, watching Greg's ass.
"Whatever. Go get my spare clothes please." Greg said, as Nick ran to get the clothes.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Thank God they didn't get any paint on the windows." Grissom said, inspecting the windows, as the girls nodded.
"GRISSOM! What the hell were Sanders and Stokes doing?" Ecklie yelled as he came down the hallway.
"Target practice." Sara said simply.
"Target practice my ass. They could've hit the windows, they could've broken something." He ranted.
"Ah, but Conrad they didn't. Everything is still intact and clean." Catherine said smiling.
"Yeah well, don't let it happen again, or I'll suspend them both." Ecklie said walking away as Sara stuck her tongue out at him.
"That guy is SUCH a wet blanket. Wouldn't know fun if it kicked his ass." Sara said.
"As much as that is true Sara, he still has the power to fire you." Grissom said, as Catherine and her smiled.
"Now why can't you just say that to his face?" Catherine said.
"Because I don't have to say anything to his face for him to know I don't like him." Grissom said simply.***
Greg slid along the wall, with his partner in the game, Jason.
"We are going to LOSE!" Jason stated.
"It's laser tag, one. Two, it's raining outside. Three, it was either this or Westerns." Greg said as both men shuddered.
Both Nick and Chris were good southern boys. Chris from Alabama, Nick from Texas. Greg and Jason were all ABOUT horror movies, or anything in the gore section.
"True. Very true." Jason whispered, as they turned the corner to see their partners.
They both smirked, and shot them from behind. The annoying buzz went off.
"Damn. RUN NICK!" Chris said, as Nick dodged the hit.
Nick didn't need to be told twice, as he ran around the corner.
"Go get him Greg." Jason said, as Greg started he stopped.
"I've got an idea." Greg said, adding, "Gimme a boost."
With that said, Greg climbed up the wall.
"Don't fall."
Greg nodded, squinting through the dark, scooting forward.
On one side it was all rigid, so you could climb a little, on the other..it was flat, nothing to grab onto at all, if you fell then you'd land on your head or back.
He saw Nick acting like James Bond on the other side.
"Jason, watch out! Nick's around the corner." He whispered loudly so Jason could hear, but Nick couldn't.
Jason nodded, getting his gun ready.
Greg smirked as he scooted backwards. So he would come down where he came up, he misplaced his foot and went sideways.
He barely grabbed the ledge with his hand, his gun fell over the side hitting the floor with a clank.
"GUYS!" Greg yelled, trying to pull himself up, but not having anything to help him.
He heard the annoying buzz sound and Jason yelling, "WE WON!"
"Greg? Where'd you go?" Jason asked not seeing his partner in crime.
"I kinda fell. So help would be a necessary thing." Greg yelled, still attempting to climb.
"How can you kinda fall? You either do or you don't. It's like, Oh I kinda fell off the balcony." Nick said, as he and Jason went around the corner.
"Greggo, hang on." Chris said, trying to climb up, but failing.
"Like I'd do much else." Greg said sarcastically.
Greg's phone started playing Wings of a Butterfly which meant is was Grissom.
"G!" Nick said halting when he saw him, "Greg let go."
"HELL NO!"
"I'll catch you."
"I remember the last time you said that, and you let me fall straight on my pale ass." Greg said, slipping a little.
"I swear I'll catch you this time, Greggo." Nick said, as Greg sighed, letting go.
Nick caught him right under his ass, putting a hand on his chest, and one across his hips.
"See. I told you I'd catch you." Nick said as Greg smiled, kissing him softly.
Greg's phone started ringing again.
"Sanders...uh huh..okay." Greg said hanging up.
"Again?." Nick asked.
"Yep." Greg said.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Greg and Nick got out of their cars, they had to park across the street because there were no spaces left. A car sped by, splashing water and mud on them. It landed mostly in their face and hair.
They wiped the mud of their faces, and some out of their hair.
They walked into the break room, to a dead silence.
"What the hell happened to you two?" Sara asked.
"Laser tag, rain, mud, OH and a speeding car. Fun for us." Greg said mock-enthusiastically.
"Um...B&E on Sunset Lane." Grissom said.
Greg got some more out of his hair and threw it in Nick's face. The team's jaws dropped.
"That was groping my ass Stokes." Greg said playfully and then took of his shirt as Nick wiped the mud out of his face. The shirt replaced it.
"That was for threatening Jason and I with Westerns." Greg said, shuddering again.
Greg smirked, and swayed to the showers.
He saw Mia, Hodges, Bobby, Archie, and Jacqui looking at him. He heard Nick come up from behind him, and he ran.
So they left muddy footprints, so what. Whoever said mud was nasty was wrong, it was like saying that you hate baths because it's to wet.***
"No."
"G--"
"NO."
"Come on." Nick said pleading.
"No. I REFUSE to do...that." Greg said, his nose crinkling.
"Jason.." Chris started.
"I'm not doing it either." Jason said as he joined Greg's side.
"It's not like we're asking you to bungee jump naked." Nick said.
"No, see we'd do that. Because that is fun. This is just not.." Greg said.
"Do you see how it's looking at me. GREG IT WANTS TO EAT ME!" Jason said, hiding behind Greg.
"See, its scaring Jason." Greg said, putting an arm around him.
"It's just a horse."
"Yeah, and it wants to kill us." Greg said, as Jason nodded furiously.
"It's either this or Westerns."
"We'll blare Marilyn Manson." Jason said, as Greg nodded his head.
"Used to it."
"Then we'll blare Ateryu." Greg said, as Nick winced.
"WE'VE GOT 'EM ALREADY THOUGH." Chris whined.
"Yeah we already rented them out." Nick said.
"But it's going to EAT us Nicky." Greg said, looking at the black horse with a look of fear.
"Yeah besides that, we'll be to sore for later activities." Jason said.
"No you won't." Nick said.
"Yes we will, because it's our first time riding." Greg said, grinning deviously.
"Then we'll ride double. You can ride like a chick Greggo."
"Excuse me." Greg said defensively.
"That way you're not sore, and you can still ride."
"No means no, not maybe." Greg said, taking up a stance.
Nick walked over to Greg.
"What..are..you...DOING!" Greg yelled as Nick picked him up and put him on the saddle sideways.
Nick climbed on after him, putting his arms around him, to reach the reins.
"You're not..going to let me fall are you?" Greg asked.
"If you don't shut up I will." Nick teased.
"Is it scary Greg?" Chris asked.
"Hell yeah. I'm going to fall and break my pretty neck." Greg said, dramatically.
"Greg, are you okay?" Jason asked.
"Yeah just as long as Nickelodeon over here doesn't drop me." Greg said cheekily.
"Do you want me to push you off?" Nick asked, clearly not amused by the nickname.
"Fine Chris, I'll do it." Jason said, as Chris helped him up, doing the same as Nick.
They started trotting with Greg and Jason muttering evilly under their breaths.
Jason then looked at Greg, grinning evilly.
'Are you thinking what I'm thinking?' he mouthed.
'Yes.' Greg mouthed back.
They both smirked, and turned facing their partners.
Nick's eyes widened.
"You are no--" he was cut off by Greg kissing him forcefully.
"No Jason!" Chris said, putting his hand on his chest.
"Bu-"
"No buts. I don't care if they're doing it. Nick should know better."
When Greg and Nick parted, Nick groaned.
"Maybe this is fun." Greg said, starting to nip on Nick's ear.
"Th-This isn't a bedroom Greggo." Nick moaned out.
"But you like it."
"D-Doesn't matter."
Greg smirked, running his hand over the top of Nick's pants, who bucked into his hand.
"Greg..stop."
"I don't think you want me to." Greg said, smirking.
They stopped everything when they heard Greg's phone go off.
"Sanders." Greg said, clearly irritated.
"yeah..Yeah...okay. See you in a few." Greg snapped his phone shut, looking PISSED.
"Do we have to go...WHOA!" Nick said, as the horse, went up both boys tumbling onto the ground. Nick straight on his back, and Greg with his face in Nick's lap.
"I HATE GRISSOM!" Greg yelled out, frustrated.
"Babe, you're going to have to move your head." Nick said.
"I don't care." Greg said, pouting.
Jason and Chris ran up, throwing ice water on them.
"There, now you're not hard for work." Jason said smiling.
"DIE!!!!" Greg yelled, jumping up and trying to tackle Jason.
Nick already knowing what was going to happen, jumped up and grabbed Greg around the waist.
"G. Greggo.....GREG! Deep Breaths. Deep breaths." Nick said, fighting to keep Greg off of Jason.
"Aw poor Greg, he's being...restrained." Chris said.
"Lemme at them Nicky. Let ME at them." Greg snarled.
"No Greg. Come on." Nick said, dragging Greg to the Jetta.
"It's not fair..why couldn't we do something..I don't wanna go to work." Greg said and added, "The last three days off, we ALWAYS have to go into work. It's not FAIR."
"Yeah well life's a bitch and then you die."
"But I don't want that either." Greg said, on the edge of tears.
"I've got an idea." Nick said, smirking.
"Oooo What." Greg said.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Where the HELL are they?" Catherine asked.
"I have no clue, but they're late." Grissom said.
"Well maybe if on their days off, you didn't call them, they wouldn't be so damn angry." Warrick said, as Sara nodded.
BANG!
Nick and Greg ran in with water guns, spraying Grissom, Catherine, and Brass. Ice water was a good friend.
They both made war cries and ran out.
Sara and Warrick started snickering.
"How come they didn't hit you?" Grissom asked as Greg came back in with another war cry.
Nick came from behind and threw a balloon at Warrick, which exploded on his shirt, pudding flying everywhere.
This continued for about 5 minutes before Ecklie came in, and the boys made another war cry running out.
Grissom leaned towards Warrick and ran his finger down his cheek to get some of the pudding off, tasting it.
"HEY it's banana." Grissom said, as the others looked at him like he was crazy.
Greg and Nick came back, both dry and looking quite pleased with themselves.
"We already know. Homicide at Regal Lane." Greg said, as he left. Nick throwing a balloon at Ecklie, before running out.
"What the...WHO DID THAT?" Ecklie asked outraged, but then seeing the nightshift, left with wide eyes.***
Greg and Jason glared heatedly at the two men in front of them.
"We hate you." Greg said, glaring at the thing in Nick's hands.
"No you don't."
"Why can't we go surfing?" Jason pleaded, making puppy dog eyes at Chris.
"Because Nick and I hate surfing."
"But you get to see us all wet." Greg said, grinning.
"Sorry." Nick said, passing it to Greg, hitting him in the stomach, then falling to the ground.
"We could've done anything. ANYTHING that could be considered fun, but NO you want to play Badminton." Greg said, frowning.
"Yeah well, you two can choose next." Chris said, handing a racket to them both.
"Who's team am I on?" Greg asked.
"Nick's of course." Chris answered.
"Oh okay good." Greg said then added, "Um. How do you play this?"
Nick and Chris looked at each other.
"You don't know how to play? Jason do you?" Nick asked as Jason shook his head.
The next thirty minutes were discussed on how to play, so when they finally got onto the court, Greg was frowning again.
"Okay now hit it, so we can see who goes first." Nick said to Greg, as Greg served it.
Jason went to hit it, but he missed.
"This...SUCKS." Jason said, clearly not amused.
Greg smiled at Nick who grinned at him.
"Okay Greggo, you serve it." Nick said, handing the bird to him.
"Like I just did?" Greg asked as Nick nodded.
"I'm going to fuck this up somehow." Greg muttered, hitting the bird.
It flew over the net and hit Jason in the face. Greg started snickering.
"Okay, I quit. This is stupid." Jason said, as Chris shook his head.
"Country."
"Atreyu." Jason said glaring at his boyfriend.
"Jason, come on. It's actually kinda fun." Greg said, smiling at his friend.
"Fine but hit me in the nose again, and I'm gone." Jason said.
"Well that will be difficult since it's so huge." Greg whispered.
"What'd you just say?" Jason demanded.
"I said that I wouldn't, and we should go play luge." Greg said, as Jason glared.
"No you didn't you said I had a big nose. Chris hit him!" Jason said as Chris looked at him incredulously.
"Why?"
"He made fun of me." Jason said, as Chris rolled his eyes, walking towards Greg. Nick stepped infront of Greg.
"Nadda. You ain't hitting Greg. I don't care how soft it is." Nick said.
"Hey Stokes mind your own business." Chris said, trying to sidestep him.
"Um, Greg is my business, see he's my boyfriend. This means I love him, which also means, that if someone threatens him, I give them a beat down." Nick said smiling.
Chris scratched his head.
"Huh?" Chris said.
"You can't really be that stupid can you?" Greg said and added, "Haha Jason my boy is smarter than yours."
Jason ran over, tackling Greg yelling, "DIE!"
Greg put his leg in between Jason's and flipped him, before getting up.
"GREG you just ruined my hair."
"Yeah well you ruined mine too." Greg complained, trying to fix it. He failed miserably.
"Chris our boys are very narcissistic." Nick said, frowning.
"You just noticed this Nick."
"No it just never looked so..vain before now." Nick said, as Greg and Jason started trying to hit eachother with the rackets.*
Nick's phone started ringing, so he put up a finger to Chris and answered it.
"Stokes."
"OW. DAMN JASON THAT'S MY ASS!" Greg yelped, trying to smack the other boy.
"Oh..that's Greg. NO WE'RE NOT IN A THREESOME." Nick yelled.
"NO STOP. CHRIS GET OFF ME..JASON PUT THAT DOWN. OW! NICK." Greg yelped in pain.
"We're not in a foursome either. Yeah, we'll be in soon." Nick said hanging up, turning to see Chris and Jason hitting Greg with the rackets.
Nick walked over and smacked Chris and Jason's heads together.
"If he bruises, we'll sue for assault." Nick threatened, helping Greg up who hit him in the arm.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU COME SOONER?"
"Grissom. He now thinks we're in a foursome with Chris and Jason." Nick said as Greg blushed.
"Yeah well while you were talking to him, I got him in the face, and in the ass." Greg whined, a little bruise appearing on his cheek. Nick touched it, Greg automatically smacking his hand.
"Well you're bruised."
"Great, I'm damaged goods. Oh JASON." Greg said, smacking Jason in the ass with the racket.
"OW that hurts." Jason said.
"No shit Sherlock. Imagine that twenty times, then you have my sore ass." Greg said, glaring.
"Sorry Greg." The two men chorused
"Whatever, we have work."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Upon arriving at the break room, they noticed that the coffee was already made.
"Greg, what happened to your face?" Catherine asked concerned.
"Nick was to rough probably." Warrick said, as Sara snickered.
Nick walked over to the little fridge, pulling out an ice pack. He placed it on Greg's cheek, who hissed.
They both walked over to the chairs, Nick sitting in one, while Greg took his lap.
"Um there are two chairs there for a reason." Grissom said.
"Yeah well, Chris and Jason thought it be fun to beat Greg up with Badminton rackets." Nick said and added, "In the face and.."
"They hit my ass. Hence my sitting in Nick's lap. Don't like it, get over it." Greg said, yawning.
"What?" Sara said, disbelieving.
"Nick your soft. I'm going to sleep on you okay." Greg said, snuggling into the older man.
"No not okay. We have a case Greggo." Nick said, shaking Greg a little.
"Well if rude people didn't call on our day off, I could sleep right?" Greg said irritated.
"That is correct. But since rude people did call us, you get no sleep."
"No sleep for me?" Greg asked.
"No sleep for you." Nick said, as Greg groaned, and looked at Grissom.
"You have a B&E at 3190 Jackson lane." Grissom said, as the two men left.
"So when do you think they're going to get sick of getting called in on their day's off?" Warrick asked.
"Soon." Catherine said.
"This is hilarious they don't even know what's going to happen in two weeks." Sara said.
"And it will stay that way." Grissom said.
"Wait what happens in two weeks?" Brass asked.
"It's their anniversary."
"Wouldn't they remember that."
"They have the day off. We're going to call them in." Sara said.
"Now that's mean." Brass said, frowning.
"No, not when we're throwing them a party." Catherine said, as everyone grinned.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Meanwhile....
Greg smacked Nick's hand again.
"DON'T TOUCH MY ASS. And I thought my first time was painful." Greg complained.
"It hurts that much?" Nick asked.
"Worse." Greg said, walking into the scene.
"Remind me never to get hit by one of those racket's then."
"Wait." Greg said stopping, as did Nick.
"What?" Nick asked.
"Did we win the game?"
***
Greg and Jason smirked at the two men stumbling infront of them.
"Guys, this isn't fair. AT ALL." Nick complained, trying to maintain his balance.
"Sorry." Greg said, but smirking still the same.
"Why couldn't we do ice skating?" Chris asked Greg.
"Because it's cold and we hate the cold." Greg said, skating a little on the floor.
"But regular skating is fun?" Nick asked.
:"Yeah, you have great music." Jason said holding a finger up as an Atreyu song came on.
"And since you two suck at it, you can see our butts." Greg said as Jason laughed.
"Is that all you think about?"
"Is what all I think about?" Greg asked.
"Sex. Sexual situations."
"HEY! Any situation can be made sexual given the right amount of patience and creativity." Greg said as Nick's eyes widened.*
"You aren't serious are you?" Nick asked.
"Dead serious." Greg said, taking Nick's hand, pulling him onto the wooden floor. He skated backwards, still holding onto Nick's hands, pulling him at a decent speed.
"Greg, this sucks."
"Hey payback is a bitch." Greg said, grinning.
"But this isn't fair. And why is it payback?"
"Horses, and then the whole Badminton experience. My ass is STILL sore." Greg said, emphasizing the still part.
"How many times do I have to say I'm sorry." Nick said, as Greg pulled him close.
"Until you turn blue in the face." Greg said, laughing at Nick, who stumbled.
They heard the DJ's voice say that it was about time to have the skate races.
"Hey Greg, you wanna race me?" Jason asked, as Greg grinned.
"Yeah. Nick and Chris can race eachother." Greg said and then added to Nick, "And I'll forgive you if you race Chris."
Greg let go of Nick's hands, skating over where the starting point was, stopping.
"Greggo, this is going to be HILARIOUS." Jason said.
"Oh yes it is. Ain't life a bitch."
"Hopefully they won't die. That would be bad." Jason said, hissing as Chris ran into the wall.
"This will be good for them. With their competitive nature and all." Greg said as Jason nodded.
Both men started laughing outright as the other two started crawling towards them.
"Why can't we get the hang of it? How come you two are so good?" Nick demanded.
"Reason number one, is cause you're thinking to much about it." Jason said.
"Reason number two, is because in San Francisco you either have a car, and can't go anywhere. Have a bike and get made fun of. Or you could have rollerblades and get everywhere faster than normal. This is how Jason and I got around during High School." Greg said smirking at Nick's dumbfounded look.
"Why couldn't you go anywhere?" Nick asked.
"Roads were ALWAYS full. Plus unless it was a motorbike or motorcycle you would be made fun of for riding a bike. People with rollerblades did crazy things, so they never got made fun of, because if you did something as crazy as skating a half pipe then the only thing crazier would be killing someone. Hey Greg remember when we grabbed onto that car, and they drove us three streets down, and then skated down that rail." Jason commented.
"Yeah and you landed right on your face after you landed." Greg said, smirking as Jason went red.
"Do you skate to work?" Jason asked.
"Nope. But I should, Grissom would have a heart attack." Greg said, grinning evilly.
When it was their turn to go to the line. Greg and Jason bumped fists as he said go.
Greg got ahead of Jason, but then Jason got ahead of Greg. It was a very frustrating thing to watch them. When they neared the finish line, they both slid over the line. Greg getting there a little before Jason.
"Winner." The judge said, handing two glow sticks to Greg.
Nick and Chris skated, more so stumbled over to the line.
"GO!" the judge said, as they both skated really slowly off.
Greg and Jason started holding eachother, laughing hard.
Five minutes later Chris crossed the finish line, getting the glow sticks from a very pissed off judge.
Greg and Jason were still laughing when the two men came up to them.
"That was fan-fuckin-tastic." Jason cried out weakly, in between the laughs he was taking.
"Ha ha ha. You're on the couch for a month Jason." Chris said, as Jason stopped laughing.
"It's my apartment dumb bitch." Jason said.
"Greg, that was actually kinda fun." Nick said, coming over to the laughing ex-lab tech.
"See I told you." Greg said.
"But why did we walk?" Nick asked.
"Cause it's like two minutes from where we live." Greg said, as his phone started ringing.
"Sanders. Yeah we'll be there in a few." Greg said, hanging up.
"We gotta jam guys." Greg said, as Nick skated, actually skated towards a place to take off the blades.
"What're you doing? We bought you those. Now we're going to go to the lab in them." Greg said.
"What about our shoes?" Nick asked.
"That's why we have backpacks." Greg said, shoving their shoes in his backpack.
"Are you sure? I mean I'm still kinda shaky." Nick said.
"Just don't try anything dangerous and you'll be fine...although we'll have to cut through the park to get there faster." Greg said, smiling innocently.
"But the park has.."
"Rails, I know." Greg said, as Jason skated over.
"We're coming with. I mean our apartment is on the way." Jason said, as Greg nodded.
"Okay let's go then." Greg said.
(Now for the fun part)
Greg and Jason skated ahead of other two, getting the sticks and twigs out of the way. When they came to the stairs, Greg and Jason slid down them. They were low enough and balanced to make the whole rail. They waited for Nick and Chris to walk down the steps. When they reached the bottom, Greg grabbed Nick's hand and they tore off.
Greg took every chance to jump onto something. He loved grinding, in all shapes and forms.
"Greg slow down." Nick complained, seeing the lab come into view, "Do you really want to bust in there?"
"YES!" Greg yelled, pulling Nick out of the park, and across the street. A few cars having to stop for the two crazy men.
Greg walked up the steps to the lab before letting go of Nick's hand. He then proceeded to skate down the halls, offering a wave to Judy who blushed.
He almost ran into Archie and Jacqui on his way to the break room. Nick was right behind him, they skated into the break room, skidding to a stop.
"What's up." Greg said, as Grissom, Brass, and Catherine just sat, shocked at the two men.
"THAT WAS TIGHT!" Sara and Warrick said together, before laughing.
Everything stopped when Ecklie came in.
"Haven't I told you no skating in the halls before." He complained.
"No you haven't..." Nick said.
"Well that's because...you've never done it before." Ecklie said, confused before leaving the room.
"You two have a DB at a club called Infinity." Grissom said and added, "And PLEASE take off the skates."
Greg and Nick smirked at the older man before skating off to the Locker Room.
***
Greg handed Nick his 'weapon'.
"I don't understand how you do this?" Nick said as Chris fell on his ass.
"Jason, that's the fifth time I've fallen." Chris complained.
"I don't care." Jason said as he skated over to Greg.
"I thought we didn't want to ice skate." Jason said to Greg.
"We aren't ice skating we're playing Curling." Greg said, smiling widely, as he holstered his broom.
"So it's like...hockey...but with brooms." Nick said.
"Correct." Greg said, putting the puck down.
Chris came over, and stopped, more so falling.
"Alright, ready."
"No." Nick and Chris said together.
"Set." Jason said.
"NO."
"GO!" Greg said, sweeping the puck with his broom.
Jason went to Team Manson's goal, as Nick went to Team Nelson's goal.
Chris skated after Greg, trying to catch up with the ex-lab tech.
Greg shot the puck inbetween Nick's legs.
"Okay you know what. How about you teach us how to skate before we do this." Chris said, trying to stop but hitting the wall.
"Yeah, I think so too." Jason said, skating up to Greg and Nick.
"Fine." Greg said, grabbing Nick's hands, and helping him skate.
A few minutes later, Chris was getting the hang of it, while Nick was still stumbling.
"Hey Stokes, you still need your pretty boy to hold onto you." Chris taunted.
"Pretty boy." Greg said defensively.
"Chris." Nick said, warning him.
"Aw he does." Chris said, as Jason shook his head.
Nick snatched his hands away from Greg and took off after Chris.
"I guess anger is a great motivator." Greg said skating up to Jason.
"Guess so." Jason said.
"Now let's go save Chris from Nick." Greg said, skating towards Chris.
Who seeing Greg, swerved around him, making Nick land smack into Greg.
"Oof." Greg muttered as he fell to the ice, the breath being knocked out of him.
"Happy Anniversary G." Nick said, smiling cockily.
"Get off, you pervert." Greg said, trying to push Nick off of him, but to no avail.
"I don't want to, you make a good pillow."
"Yeah if you think stick's are good pillows." Jason said, snickering.
"And the moment...IS RUINED. Thank you Jason." Greg said, trying to push Nick off again.
"Why don't we go home. Anniversaries are supposed to be private." Nick whispered into Greg's ear.
"And you Mr. Stokes are a hornball. Now off, or no sex for a week." Greg said, as Nick sighed, getting off of Greg.
"That's right, I wear the pants." Greg said laughing, as Nick helped him up.
"Then why are you always the one screaming?" Nick said as Greg went a nice shade of red.
"Nick, shut up." Greg muttered, going redder as Jason started laughing.
"You guys don't switch?" Chris asked.
"No, I'm perfectly happy being dominant." Nick said, as Greg went a new shade of blood red.
"Ah but what about the.."
"OKAY! I don't know if you like this new game but SHUT UP." Greg said.
"What new game?" Jason asked.
"The make Greg die of embarrassment game." Greg said.
"Oh but Greg, you know I could always tell them about how T--" Jason started but Greg slapped his hand on his mouth.
"If you mutter a WORD about that then I'll tell Chris about how you and Ja--" Greg started but Jason slapped his hand on his mouth.
Nick and Chris exchanged looks.
"Jason what's Greg hiding?" Nick asked, sliding up to Jason.
"Greg what's Jason not telling me?" Chris said, sliding up to Greg.
Greg and Jason dropped their hands.
"Questions?" Greg asked, cocking his head to the side.
"How do you play?"
"Don't you know how?" Greg asked.
"What's your name?"
"How old are you?" Greg asked Jason.
"What are you wearing?"
"What are you talking about?"
Nick and Chris looked at each other worriedly.
"How are you?"
"How are you?" Jason repeated.
"HA Repition, point to me." Greg said, smirking.
Nick tackled Greg, making him land hard on the ice again.
"What was that?"
"Questions. It's a game." Greg said, as his phone started going off.
"Not on our anniversary. They wouldn't..." Nick started.
"Sanders. Yeah...are you sure...okay." Greg said, sighing.
"We need to go."
"You are NOT serious are you?" Jason said, disbelieving.
"Yep, that was Grissom we have a triple homicide. They need the extra help." Greg said miserably as he and Nick skated off the ice.
"This sucks. It's our anniversary for God sakes." Nick said as they took off the skates.
"Yeah I know. But afterwards we can have some fun at home." Greg said smiling at Nick, who smiled back.
"Okay." Nick said, as they waved at Jason and Chris.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Shhh. OW Griss that was my foot." Sara yelped, moving around in the dark.
Nick and Greg walked into the lab, looking around.
"Where the hell is everyone?" Greg said outloud.
"Not important. Let's get to the break room, so they can tell us what's up." Nick said, taking Greg's hand.
"I love you Nicky." Greg said, smiling at Nick.
"I love you too Greggo." Nick said, kissing Greg softly.
Greg smiled, pulling back.
"Come on, we need to..why the hell is it dark? Don't we have janitors to fix the li—HOLY SHIT!" Greg yelled, as the lights turned on as everyone yelled, "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!"
Greg clutched his chest, as Nick held him, looking shocked.
"Uh. Wow. What do we say?" Nick said.
"Don't scare me like that again, I may be young, but I can still have a heart attack." Greg said, as Grissom grinned at them.
"Well there's no triple homicide, just us throwing you a party. Happy 4th Anniversary." Grissom said, handing over his present.
"Thanks guys." Greg and Nick said together.
Nick put his arms around Greg, grinning at all of them.
"If you guys had called us in on a triple homicide I think we would've killed you." Nick said as Greg nodded.
"Yeah, not cool you guys." Greg said, as Ecklie came in.
"What's going on in here?" Ecklie asked.
"We're having a celebration." Grissom said.
"And the lab is funding it." Ecklie said.
"No, we, the people working at the lab are funding it. Out of our own pockets." Catherine said, smirking.
"But.."
"But nothing. We all have a good amount of break we've saved up, we're taking it." Warrick said, grinning widely.
"Yep, and you can't yell at us for taking it. It's against the law to make us work so long without a break." Sara said and added, "And you should know the law."
Ecklie glared at everyone and stormed out.
Greg and Nick started laughing.
"Only you guys would smart off to Ecklie and get away with it." Greg wheezed.
"Well let's party." Archie said, as Jacqui showed them the gifts.
Everyone was there, even Hodges. Why he was there, Greg didn't know. But he was happy all the same.***
