The club wasn't his place; it wasn't his scene. He didn't belong. Nick couldn't help but feel too old for a place like this. Even a seedy bar would seem more like home.

His eyes were on the moving, pulsing crowd. It was intimidating. The men and women seemed to be one writhing, grinding, dancing entity. Yet the more he watched, the more he wanted to be a part of it.

Nick stared down into his half-finished beer bottle. All he had to do was set it on the bar and immerse himself into the throng...

Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of someone out of the corner of his eye.

It was like he'd seen a ghost. A fleeting apparition. Nick frantically searched the dance floor. Did he really see Greg pass him by?

Nick did a double take when he spotted him, deep within the crowd, dancing without a care. Greg was wearing a tighter-than-tight black polo with flawlessly ripped and faded jeans. To complete the look, his hair was gelled to perfection.

And he had one arm slung around the waist of a man.

Nick was hit with a sudden urge to approach him. He wanted to be the one melting into Greg as the bass pumped. Nick took a swig of his beer, not taking his eyes off Greg.

The loud lyrics of the next song floated through the air. Nick felt more drawn to where Greg was, amidst the colored lights and faceless people.

Nick saw Greg's boy toy slip away, flowing into the arms of a voluptuous blonde. Greg was dancing alone.

One last swig and Nick set the bottle down with defiance. He stood, confidence stirring, and started pushing his way through the crowd. Nick slid an arm around Greg's waist from behind, and Greg turned with an excited look on his face. As they started moving together, Greg leaned close and whispered into Nick's ear.

"I've been wondering when you'd come over," he grinned.
