"Ry, does it bother you that I wasn't innocent when we first met?"

Ryan looked up, a frown furrowing his brow at Greg's question. He couldn't help but wonder why his boyfriend would be asking him a question like that.

"Of course it doesn't. We were both adults when we met, Greg. I expected you to be more experienced than you were, to be honest," he answered, a little hesitantly. "I mean .... a guy who looks like you, I'd expected you to have dated a lot, just because you're so good looking."

He smiled as a blush suffused Greg's face; he had known those words would embarrass his lover a little. "Thanks, Ry. I felt the same way about you, y'know."

Ryan couldn't hold back a smile; yes, he'd known that.

"I wasn't all that innocent myself, sweetheart," he pointed out to Greg. "Did you expect me to be? I don't think so. Neither one of us had any unrealistic expectations."

"I didn't expect you to be innocent," Greg protested with a soft laugh. "In fact, it's a good thing you weren't. I might not have been all that innocent, but there were still a lot of things I didn't know. If you hadn't had some experience, then we'd both have been a little lost!"

Ryan couldn't help laughing at those words, shaking his head.

"Baby, I love you exactly the way you are, and I've loved you from the first time I kissed you," he said softly, taking his boyfriend's hand in his own and squeezing it gently. "I wouldn't change anything about you, Greg. Innocent or not, you've always been the perfect man for me."

He looked at their hands, clasped together, their fingers entwined. Just like their hearts and lives, he told himself. The two of them would always be together.

Greg was his heart, his soul, his very life.

No matter what happened in the future, he couldn't imagine his life without Greg in it, and he knew that his boyfriend felt the same. Their bond was unbreakable.

It didn't matter that neither of them had been innocent when they had met; they had been grown men, and they'd both had painful moments in their pasts. But together, they had managed to put the past behind them and move on, forging a future and creating their own happy moments.

Nothing would ever mean more than that. The future that he had with Greg would always be precious to him, and he would treasure this man for the rest of his life.

"Come on," he said softly, squeezing Greg's hand. "Let's go make dinner. I don't know about you, but I'm starving!"

Laughing, they headed for the kitchen hand in hand, their hearts light, happy to be together.
