"Have you got that DNA testing done for my case yet, Greg?" Nick asked as he walked through the door of the DNA lab. "I need it as soon as you can get it done. No pressure, though. I know you're busy with a lot of other stuff, too. Don't want to freak you out."

"Hey, I'm open twenty-four hours," Greg told Nick, shrugging. "It feels like that, anyway. I'm always here. Since when am I ever not working on at least ten things at once?" He almost sounded petulant; if Nick didn't know better, he'd think Greg was offended by his words.

Glancing around to make sure that nobody else was nearby, he moved around the table to stand behind Greg, slipping his arms around the young man's waist and pulling Greg back against him. "So, you're open twenty-four hours, huh? I might have something to say about that."

Greg laughed softly, squirming in Nick's grasp. "Nicky, let me go," he murmured, glancing around as though he was afraid that someone was going to enter the lab at any moment. "Somebody could see us, and then we'd be toast. We shouldn't be flirting while we're at work."

But he didn't disentangle himself from the embrace; instead, he leaned back into Nick's arms, closing his eyes and sighing softly. Nick wished they could stay like this all day, that they didn't have to get back to work and be careful about who saw them embracing.

Really, they couldn't let anybody at the crime lab see them like this. Reluctantly, he let go of Greg, and the younger man moved away from him slightly. But Nick still stayed behind him, his hand moving to Greg's hip, not wanting to relinquish contact.

How long had it been now since he and Greg had gone from friends to being lovers? He didn't know the exact amount of time, but he didn't want to think of the time before Greg had come into his life. That time seemed lonely and empty, and not worth remembering.

Greg had changed his life in so many ways; Greg made him happier than he'd ever been, and he didn't want to let go of that happiness. It was worth taking the risk that someone they worked with would find out about them, and that Ecklie would eventually know, too.

So far, they'd managed to keep their secret from everyone they worked with -- but Nick had a feeling that sooner or later, they'd be found out, and then they would both be in trouble. He didn't want either of them to lose their jobs, but it might come to that.

if it did, then he would still be with Greg. He didn't care where he worked, not really, as long as he still had his boyfriend in his life. And if the stupid rules in this place didn't change, he was pretty sure that the two of them wouldn't stick around for much longer.

He didn't want to work on a different shift from Greg, which was the only way they'd be able to stay together and still work here. He would worry about his boyfriend all the time -- and he was sure that Greg would worry about him, too, especially since he worked out in the field.

This wasn't the time to think about that, though. Looking around again to make sure that no one was around, Nick leaned closer to Greg, brushing a kiss against the younger man's cheek and whispering in his ear. "Open twenty-four hours, huh? Maybe I should make sure of that."

"I've got to be open for business all the time I'm in here," Greg told him, turning his head to brush a quick kiss across Nick's cheek. "If I wasn't, I'd get yelled at. You know how Ecklie is about expecting everybody to be ready to go with anything."

Nick laughed softly, moving his hand under Greg's lab coat. "That wasn't the kind of open I was talking about, babe," he whispered, his fingers moving to the waist of Greg's jeans and sliding beneath them. "I meant this kind of open."

Greg's eyes widened as Greg's hand slid into the back of his jeans, warm fingers tracing down the cleft of his ass. "Ummm .... N-Nicky, this might not be the b-best place to do that," he managed to stammer, his breath catching in his throat. "Somebody could catch us."

"I'm willing to take that chance just to find out how open you are," Nick murmured, his warm breath soft against the shell of Greg's earlobe. "I hope you don't have any objections to that, because it's not going to stop me. I'm throwing caution to the winds."

"You sure are," Greg gasped as Nick's hand moved lower. He pushed his hips back against Nick's hand, a soft moan coming from his mouth before he stifled it. "Nick, this isn't a good idea. If we get caught, we'll probably both get kicked out of here on our asses."

"I'm enjoying feeling up your ass right now," Nick answered, not caring at this point who might see them. All he wanted was to touch Greg, to be close to him. Slowly, he slid one finger inside the younger man, smiling as Greg's hips jerked and he gasped again.

"Oh yeah, you're definitely open," Nick murmured, bowing his head to brush a kiss against the slender column of Greg's throat. "Open and hot. I can't wait to get home in the morning -- once that front door is locked, I'm going to take you up against the wall."

"Promise?" Greg asked, leaning forward and gripping the edge of the table. "If you keep this up, you're going to have to drag me to the bathroom and take me there." His hips jerked again as a second finger slid inside him, both of them probing more deeply.

"Oh, I promise, baby." Nick curled his fingers, brushing them against Greg's prostate, smiling when the other man's muscles tightened around his fingers. "In fact, I might just have to open you up even more. I don't think my fingers are going to get the job done."

"I don't think so, either," Greg managed to gasp. His hips jerked again; Nick knew that if he didn't stop soon, his boyfriend was going to have to deal with a mess -- and he'd be uncomfortable for the rest of their working day. He didn't want to be at fault for that.

Slowly, reluctantly, he eased his fingers out of Greg, almost wishing that he hadn't done this. Now Greg was going to end up spending the rest of their shift in an aroused state -- which probably wasn't going to put him in the best of moods when they got home.

"If that's your idea of flirting, then you might have to rethink it a little," Greg mumbled, stepping away from Nick and taking a deep breath. "Damn it, Nicky, now I'm going to have to go to the bathroom and take care of some business. You shouldn't have done that."

"Oh yes, I should have," Nick said softly, wishing that he hadn't had to let go of Greg. "As far as flirting at work goes, we should be able to do it. Those rules are stupid, y'know. And one day, they're going to be gone, and we'll be able to flirt all we want."

"Yeah, but you won't be able to touch me like that in public," Greg told him, frowning as he turned to look at Nick. His expression softened, and he sighed, shaking his head. "No, I'm not mad. I just wish you'd picked a better time to do that. I'm all .... flustered."

"My type of flirting gets you all flustered?" Nick asked, arching an eyebrow. "Well then, I guess I'll have to do it more often. Especially when we're alone." He lowered his voice conspiratorially, winking at his boyfriend. "I like seeing you flustered. I think it's sexy."

"Nick!" Greg blushed, quickly looking around again. No one was near them, but he couldn't help feeling that someone was going to walk into the DNA lab at any moment. "Be careful. You don't want to get us in trouble. I'm already having enough problems right now as it is."

"Okay, okay," Nick laughed, holding up his hands in a gesture of surrender. "I'll stop. But you'd better expect more of this when we get home in the morning. The way I feel right now, we'll be going right to bed the minute we get in the house. But not to sleep."

"I don't have a problem with that," Greg told him with a broad smile. "In fact, I'm looking forward to it." He gestured down at himself, then pulled his lab coat closed. "You've already got me all hot and bothered. I bet this is going to last until we get home."

"If it doesn't, then I can flirt with you some more," Nick told him. He couldn't hold back his broad smile; that kind of flirting with Greg was one of the things he liked best. His boyfriend was so responsive to his every touch; he loved their closeness, their intimacy.

"I'll hold you to that," Greg said softly, looking back down at the work he'd been doing just as Sara walked into the lab. They both said hello to her, then Nick beat a hasty retreat, his mind still on all that he planned to do with Greg after their shift was over and they were safely behind closed doors.
