He'd never dreamed that he would end up in a situation like this.

Greg closed his eyes, letting his body go limp and hoping that Giles Wentworth wouldn't realize that he had come to sooner than expected. He didn't want to give the maniac who'd kidnapped him any reason to decide that keeping him alive wouldn't be worth the trouble.

He'd tried to wriggle his wrists free from the cords that bit into his flesh, but Wentworth was a master at tying knots; there was no way for him to free himself. He had no choice but to simply wait for whatever might happen -- and hope that Steve could find him in time.

The smoke from the mouth of the active volcano that they seemed dangerously close to gave Greg no doubt of what Wentworth intended to do with him. He shuddered at the thought; the last thing he'd planned to do here in Hawaii was become a human sacrifice.

He'd never been so terrified in his life. Nothing he'd ever experienced came close to this.

When Wo Fat's thugs had abducted him, he'd been scared, but he'd had faith that Steve would rescue him. This time, they weren't just dealing with goons that hat been hired to make a point. This time, he was in the hands of a man who was a certified psychopath.

Wentworth had already killed several people, and the 5-0 team hadn't come close to finding out where he was, or what his plans were. Greg was sure that he'd been abducted in an attempt to lure Steve into a trap; he dreaded seeing the outcome of Steve's face-off with this maniac.

Would Steve be able to face this man down and defeat him? Greg knew that his boyfriend could take care of himself, but worry for him might distract Steve. There was no telling what would happen here tonight; it was anyone's guess what the outcome would be.

He could only hope and pray that justice would prevail, and Steve would win out in the end.

He'd never been the kind of person who believed in prayer, but right now, it couldn't hurt. Greg found himself sending up a prayer to any deity who might listen, hoping with all of his heart that his prayers would be answered and that he and Steve would both go home safely tonight.

If they didn't, then at least he would be close to Steve when he passed from this world. He could only hope that if the worst happened, Steve would survive, and that the man he loved would remember him with love. He couldn't really ask for anything more.

His head jerked up as he heard a twig snap to his right. That had to be Steve.
